  1. Hey Munky, The wheel is in very good condition....i think the old owner put it back on before it was sold in japan. very very minimal wear, if any at all. I shall post up pics tonight. Located on the sunshine coast, qld.
  2. Hey guys, Just replaced my Steering wheel and shift knob for aftermarket ones. Thought some of you may need these parts for resale or what not Wheel: $50 Knob: $20 Postage and buyer's expense. Cheers Sam
  3. Cheers boys! Just had the GReddy turbo timer fitted, feel alot better now not having to cold stop the engine.
  4. If you do decide and do find out you are actually eligible to apply for importation of the vehicle. Make sure you get in contact with, i think its 'Nindri" or something like that for your yellow personal import plate. You'll need one fixed to your strut tower in your engine bay for registration authorisation.
  5. Thanks bro, Not sure if what i found is the right thing, but im just gonna get my mechy to look @ it im so lazy.
  6. Hey guys, Got my R33 S1 after 2 months of waiting and im loving it. Only problem is that the engine is idling @ like 550rpm which is way too low imo, i would have thought it would have to be up near 800-900. The reason i say this, is that on a few occasions i have come to pull up and the engine has konked out on me. So i dont know how to alter the idling speed, but i checked the throttle cable and it seems a bit loose.... Can anyone help? Cheers guys, much appreciated. Sam
  7. Hey Bayside, I was told to come to you for some rustproofing in my wheel arches and strut towers. I was referred to you by Mick @ SVI Cheers mate.
  8. Oh wicked you went with Mick @ SVI? If you did man, mention my name...Sam Douglas. If you do he will surely give you a discount dude But yeah man, mick and SVI are great...they are really speedy with ordering the compliance plate, the work done is prompt and well done. You shouldnt have any problems! Dude, once you get her all sweet post some pics up, then PM me your contact details and we can maybe get some decent pics taken of our cars!? im only on the sunshine coast so not a big trip. Anyway...good luck with the rest of it dude. Only other advice i would give is the following. Ring mick or look on your shipping invoice...and get your VIN/Chassis # and your Engine # ring AAMI Insurance and organise to go into their nearest branch to get your CTP Insurance all sorted out and paid for. This way, if you have the receipt and your Rego forms, your able to drive the car from compliance to the Dep of Transport and save $100 that you would normally have to spend on a tray truck. But if you bought through mick, he will probably do it for you Good luck man.
  9. Hey guys, Tried searching the DIY/FAQ forums but couldnt return any results. So, once again im drawing on the wealth of knowledge that is SAU, and wanting to know how to install a BOV. 10. $700 for PFC /w controller. PM me
  11. Thats awesome dude! Really happy to hear ur baby has arrived safely But try and jeep calm hey, cause i had a few delays with compliance and she is finally ready now, i pick her up tomorrow morning!! Customs clearance is weird. It could take 1 day, it could take 10....mine took 10 >.< All depends on how clean your car's interior is and whether or not it needs fumagating. But yeh, i remember seeing mine in the flesh for the first time and i didnt wanna leave Have fun with it man, take care on the roads...and let me know how it all goes! Cheers bud.
  12. Hey stink, Brokers don't normally go and assess it @ port either. Normally its just sit tight until it reaches compliance. I know its hard to not go and want to see the car when it arrives, but you have to be patient and wait The problem you have to get passed is that the car will be in quarantine and you need to hold a Blue Card in order to enter that site. Not only this, but its customs...they are tight bastards. Just sit it out, keep on the phone to your shipping company asking where its at, and make sure once its cleared its on a truck straight away. Hope this helps
  13. Good to hear dude! It's always good to come off with a win every now and then Grats on the 33 dude, im sure ur chuffed!
  14. I say we give Erin thanks for her efforts, but continue the tradition for many years to come. I don't know about her, but id be chuffed to see people taking on the new role and finish off something i satarted
  15. I won't give my end price away for purely for resale purposes. However i will say that if you subscribe for the mailing list for j-spec you will soon see an average will pan out for you to see
  16. Nice bro... Give yourself about 2 weeks from the time it lands to when compliance is done.
  17. spend about a grand for new timing belt and bottom end rebuild u should be sweet.
  18. haha, so true. Stock ftw!!!
  19. Yeh you're all right, and all making extremely valid points. With the holiday road toll extract, i quoted that as it is a highly glorified area each year on the news. Just said it purely for justificational purposes. And you're right, there has been little change in the amount of deaths after new legislation has been passed concerning these rules. However, comparing states is like comparing apples with oranges...there are too many different variables that can change the certain outcome of a road fatality. Governments. Roads. Climates. Other Drivers etc etc... All we have to do is sit and wait it out, see if it will make a difference I think it will, one less death is a difference, and that means change worth doing.
  20. You took the words right out of my mouth Generally if you import yourself, and i did say generally, you can save anywhere between $1,000-$5,000 compared to if you bought privately here in Australia (Typically R33's). Just got to be patient and find the right one for the right price
  21. It really depends on who is doing the compliance for you. The ruling is; New tyres must be fitted to comply with Australian Road Standards through the Compliance process. So what many compliance workshops do is, put on a set of stock rims and tyres for you while the inspectors come out, once they bail, they throw ur other ones on (if they arent too badly worn) and you drive away. Good way to save some money
  22. Well with the importing process/purchasing of your new car, both with j-spec and prestige...they make it very clear that they are only in the business of aiding you in chosing the right car for yourself. Auction Grading, mechanical inspections and high resolution pictures are at your disposal to help you make this choice. What i am saying is, at the end of the day, YOU are the one that choses the car. Therefore if anything goes wrong mechanically or anything else thereafter it really isnt anyones fault but your own. thanks.
  23. Dude, Great reply. If only more people could reply in this kind of fashion! Yeh what you're saying is totally true. I would have questioned why they extended the L's period another 6 months longer if it meant getting your P's 6 months later...however they have stated it will start at the age of 16 now. So that is one bit of compromise that the government have seemed to have allowed. You are also right about its not the cars, but the people driving them. It will be much the same as Drink Driving. People will do it, but at least there is something in place to deter others from doing so. I Guess we will see how it turns out statistic wise. Granted however, we do see each year during the holidays that the road tolls of each state are broadcast on the nighly news....it will be interesting to see once these laws are passed, whether or not we see a decline in those figures Sam
