Hi All, Looking to buy a boost controller and wondering if you can help me. I have only really considered an electronic unit, however looking to buy a second have turbosmart dual stage gated boost controller. does anyone know much about the gated boost controller? is it reliable? how much better is a electronic? looks like i can get the gated boost controller for $150, whereas the electronic unit will cost at least 500. what do you guys think?

nice power from mods, my 96 33 made 169kw from just an exhaust, cant wait to get cooler, but wont be much higher, prob around urs, but it will be a lil more consistent. im pretty sure the rough calculation for boost is 10kw per psi...ur boost prob crept up to around 8 maybe 8.5 becasue of exhaust. 11 psi should put out 20-30kw higher, so should go close to crack the 200kw

I regularily use vortex, and will continue. I had to fill up at shell and used v power and found that i didnt get as many kms as i normally do. i might try the 100 ron but i agree that it is purely a marketing strategy to change the name...dont think its different.

well I had 145rwkw completely stock and when i got an exhaust it went to 170rwkw. how do i do the adjustment to get hi boost from stock controller all the time??? havent heard of that yet. Thanks!!

in saying that, the long drive that is, I am driving up to QLD for a holiday soon and was wondering if driving for hours on end at 3 grand will hurt my car? Will getting a FMIC help? will the stock intercooler be ok? Let me know...

I bought a stock 96 r33 turbo for $15,000 which was a bargin....it had 145rwkw stock and put on split dump pipe full 3" exhaust with 5" hi flo cat and not has 170rwkw. very quick car.....i was looking for a R34 but getting on for $25,000 completely stock was tuff, the $10,000 i saved was well worth it...amazing car

350 is ample power and the difference wont be realised as u'll be hard pressed finding a car that beats u at 350, let alone 500. trick the ride up with style...
