re-worked my engine bay in the beemer.. i did my pipes in 2pak black.. been running like this for about 2 months now without any signs of the paint going bad. cost me 60bucks for paint+hardener and still some left over

i'm looking for a used electronic boost controller, like a greddy profec B or blitz spec s/r. something thats reliable, popular and easy to calibrate. i guess i'm hoping that someone has one sitting around that they're not using and are willing to part with. thanks all, chris.

edit: sorry, i withdraw my interest of the boost solenoid. the GB selling the jaycar boost controllers apparently died so not much use to me apologies.. chris.

check your plumbing of the external gate. all i can think of this early in the monring haha see how i spelled morning.. hmm going to bed now.

Yo the rb20 ecu gets a signal from the key when you hit 'start' which is basically the choke and definately helps with cold starts. but apart from that there isn't any conventional choke like u'd find in a carby motor. if you find it hard to start in the morning, or after any long period of rest, you might wanna do a service on it, check plugs, fuel filter, etc.. also make sure your letting the fuel pump prime properly as fuel can drain back to the tank when sitting for a while, turning straight to start without sitting on IGN for a couple of seconds will turn the motor over before there is enough fuel pressure in the fuel rail. chris.

Just an observation - your boost gauge shows '0' on idle.. should be about (minus) 0.5-0.7 bar on that gauge.. check for vaccuum leak/hose off? explains idling problem with a/c, popping under deceleration, and strange noise... Chris.

i'm reinstalling my rb20 into my bmw and want to now hook up the heater coz its friggin cold lately. // apologies for my explanation, hope someone gets it I need to know, in the skyline does the heater control a solenoid that is shut when the heater is off (and stops the flow of coolant altogether, not returning it to the block), and open when the heater is on? or does a solenoid just divert coolant from the solenoid back to the block when the heater is off (ie coolant continues to run through to the motor even when the heater is off?) i know in the bmw when the heater is off, the solenoid will just block the flow of coolant to the heater, and there will be no flow back to the motor... i just dont wannt cook my motor - i'd been running a 'U' shaped heater hose that connected straight from the heater outlet to the inlet on the rb20 block. thanks for any help. chris.
