  1. I'll give this a crack on Wednesday. Weighed in today at 81.4kg. What's the record so far? (Not that ill beat it lol)
  2. Lol I always do squats! My back was wrecked after doing the week 1 of the 180kg deadlift program! Did the 130kg week 1 chest program today. That was easy enough. Squats on Sunday or Monday!
  3. I weigh 82kg so it shows how far behind I am at squats and deads. Makes sense as even though I have been training for 13 months, I have only really trained legs for 6. I'll get there... eventually!
  4. lol what weight?
  5. Get it. I don't think I could do 120kg with a pause at the bottom.
  6. Were you on crack?
  7. Squat and deadlift are great. Bench is a bit low compared to them, any reason? What do you weigh again?
  8. Yes I read that last time you posted it (i'm sure it was you) and checked week 9 of the programs back then. Looking at them now, I reckon I will struggle but there is 9 weeks between now and then so hoping to be stronger by then!
  9. Yep. Dick lol
  10. Been a while but finally managed to work out some 1RM's; 120kg bench 165kg deadlift 110kg squat (no comments lol) Decided my starting weights on the PPP are going to be; 130kg bench 180kg deadlift 120kg squat I figured that if I go through the program and it becomes too much on a certain week I will drop to the lower weight program for that week and do the weights stated there. I didnt want to start too low and not gain much overall improvement on the PB. So started the deadlift PPP yesterday and was OK. Lower back feels it today. Today off and tomorrow chest.
  11. Great idea but I really think it should be done at a % of bodyweight. The bigger and heavier guys clearly have an advantage and this clearly excludes most females (unless they train at PTC!).
  12. I called Ian Baker to ask about a number of things, including the tyre situation and its potential impact on the event. He said it was ok to post details of the conversation and this is my take on it; Ian basically said the decision was, not surprisingly, purely commercial. Ian expressed that it costs approx $1m to put on an event like WTAC. Costs such as flying teams over, accommodation, car transport, appearance fees are largely worn by the event of which Yokohama Advan pay a lot of. Those costs are very large and are potentially underestimated by the public. As the major sponsors of WTAC, Advan felt the current return on investment was not great enough. Of large concern, Advan felt the exposure the other tyre manufacturers were receiving as result of the event, far outweighed the investment the other tyre manufactures were making into the event itself, which was nowhere near the investment Advan were making. So ultimately Yokohama Advan questioned the arrangements and hence something needed to be done about it. The rule changes thus far including the tyre situation has not dampened the interest in the event. Ian claimed there are approx 400 potential applicants for this years event! Last year 50-60 cars missed out so the event is large enough and is growing and therefore justifies the high competitor and entry costs. When asked about the overseas entries, not sponsored by Advan and how they are being impacted, Ian was not sure at this stage and was still working through it. On a negative note, Ian has received huge interest in moving WTAC overseas to Asia (Thailand specifically) and America. There is big money being offered to do that however that would mean it can no longer be run in Australia. That's not what he wants however depending on the events financial performance this year that may be an eventuality. Just to be clear that is not being planned however like any business, if it doesn't work out you consider all your options. In relation to the tyres, he didn't at first share any information on the support entrants would get on Advan tyres however later said a decision has not been made on whether or not entrants would receive support if they were to enter however I got the impression there may be some support offered.
  13. Completely agree. You want to look good but you still want to enjoy life! The most important thing for me with my diet is still enjoying the foods I love (within reason of course) and sustainability ie no matter what i choose to eat and not eat it has to be relatively easy for me to maintain that ongoing, otherwise its just too easy to fall off. All these crazy diets, watching exactly what you eat, counting calories etc etc is all well and good but how long can you do that for? It just becomes too hard and then you give up and all goes to buggery lol
  14. On the topic of Zyzz and doing it naturally or 'assisted' and all these ideal physiques that you just question: we all might be able to look ripped etc if we eat healthy, live healthy and train for a few years, but that is so hard... or you could do what most blokes at the gym do and get there in 3-6 months. With the 'drug culture' that exists nowadays for not only steroids but lifestyle drugs, most often don't say no when offered a pill or even an injection that will help him look better in a quarter of the time without the really hard work for only the price of some supplements!! Stating the obvious, there's no doubting you can look good naturally but it will never be as quick and easy as taking roids, particularly if you want everything now! Some people just dont have the ability, dedication or determination to do it the natural and much harder way over a year or two and more. I saw a guy at the gym that hadn't trained in 3 months, was overseas. Lost all his size but maintained the shape. Got back into it and literally 2 months later was cut and shredded beyond belief as well as putting on substantial size - just 2 months! In 2 months on roids he gained more than I have in 1 year naturally. He openly admitted to taking them, it was that obvious. Even said himself, he can train hard for a year or 2 and not end up looking like he was now. Its depressing in some ways but also rewarding when complimented on gains made, but it sure is hard work!
  15. I actually enjoyed comparing the times the cars were doing on the different tyres - that's the one thing I was able to personally take away that might help me moving forward... Agree, a control tyre is great for leveling the playing field to truly determine who has the fastest car on that tyre. However it does nothing for growing the sport and tyre manufacturer development. Those cars that were sponsored by Hankook, Kuhmo, Bridgestone, Dunlop and Federal are financially disadvantaged if they do not receive the same deal as they were getting before. Are they going to enter now on Advans? Maybe yes and maybe no. If they don't, and there may be some big teams that dont as a result of this, then its the spectator that misses out.
  16. Thanks. Have seen it but not sure on that one. I think the 6262 is the one.
  17. Agree. It was the first 1RM I have ever tried on bench so didnt want to waste myself trying 122.5kg so went straight to 125kg. It gave me a starting point for the PP program from Markos. I know have an idea on where to start on all 3 of my lifts!
  18. I also did that but then now I jump on the row machine for 5-10 minutes to get warmed up without sapping too much strength. Deadlift - did 165kg for a 1RM, would not say easily but will try 170kg next time. On bench, did 120kg 1RM. Tried at 125kg but no go. On 125kg got it halfway up and knew straight away it wasn't going any further lol On squats, did 115kg 1RM. I think i could go 120-125kg but its the worry of not being able to get back up that stops me pushing harder. Doesnt help that I only really started training legs properly 6 months ago. It'll get there slowly!
  19. All competitors must use Advan tyres?? Surely not!
  20. Deposit paid. Sold pending full payment. Thanks.
  21. Anyone done any back to back (or similar) on the 6262 and 6266? Will be deciding between these in 0.84 TS for a 2.2 VE SR. Leaning towards the 6262 atm.
  22. Any detail on his routine and diet? They are tremendous results.
  23. Sounds exciting. Why not just go 295 and 315 tyres from the get go. Will require tubbing of the front end though which I assume you want to avoid? Also, Mazworx exhaust manifold? Any reason why that one? Go Australian, Kelway, 6Boost or even Full Race if wanting something really exotic looking!
  24. NB this engine is being sold by Ninos not me. Hardcore 'SR20VET' Engine just had a freshen up a few months ago by Advanced Motor Mechanics in Sydney and would not have even travelled 800km since then. Over $6k was spent on the freshen up. There was no damage to the engine whatsoever prior to the freshen up. Everything was inspected and checked and parts changed that were necessary or upgraded. Items marked new were replaced with the freshen up. *OEM SR20VE crank 2L *ACL race bearings ( new ) *Mazworx main studs ( new ) *Plazmaman billet girdle ( new ) *JUN Conrods *Custom SBS pistons *OEM Timimg chain kit ( new ) *Sleeved block - 87mm bore *S14 oem water pump ( new ) *VE oil pump ( new ) *P11 SR20VE RACED PREPPED head ( Heavily worked and ported, VET has been disconnected ) *Custom rockers *Custom one off cams *Custom oversized valves - intake and exhaust *Custom inlet manifold with fuel rail (no injectors with the sale) *Over size head studs *Plazmaman 85mm throttle body. Other information: The engine currently is dry sump however that is not being sold with the engine. To run this engine you will need to run an external oil pump set-up. This can be explained to potential buyers. Engine has made a proven 536rwk@34psi (720rwhp) with a Precision 6466. It has never been boosted beyond this. With 490rwk, the engine powered the car to a 10.2 @ 146.7MPH weighing 1380kg - this was before the freshen up. Engine is capable of supporting power to run 150MPH and easy 9sec depending on turbo kit and car. Big money has been spent on this engine no cheap stuff or short cuts. This is a very strong a reliable & proven setup. This is not a standard head VET conversion. There has been a lot of development, time and money spent on this head and engine to ensure it works. It idles, revs and performs perfectly. It is in excellent condition and will make power reliably. Can be used in circuit, drift or drag cars - just depends what size turbo you want to run. Reason for sale: I have another setup in the build - however there is absolutely nothing wrong with this engine. I'm just going bigger again! The engine will not be coming out of the car till its sold with a deposit paid so serious genuine buyers can hear and test the engine. Price: $12K firm - long engine with inlet manifold. Does not include turbo kit or injectors. To build one like this is an easy $20k. Remeber this engine has just Location: Sydney NSW Call Ninos on 0400 198 798 GENUINE BUYERS ONLY PLEASE. No timewasters, information seekers or dreamers.
  25. Oh that thread! Yep understand. I started that thread to give people a place to post general stuff about their car that didn't necessarily want to start their own build thread. Its been a good thread if I may so and would probably be good for here as well to create some extra random discussion However you have given me an idea to start a Motorsports build section for Motorsport focussed card on NS... not sure if it will work as their is a large build forum already. Will see how it goes. Agree for this forum there should be a build section for dedicated track/motorsport cars. BTW: the NS Motorsport section isn't cringe worthy theres actually some very knowledgeable guys on there with some very good and quick track cars
