Whats the reasoning behind doing only doing one exercise numerous times? Why aren't you doing more or different exercises? Understand they are the compound movements but why only one of them? Also why such high reps for some of them? Is that the PTC training regime??

On the topic of shoulders, can you guys share a good shoulder workout or your own, thanks. One that targets all aspects of the shoulder and does not lead to shoulder imbalances (dont ask me to google, I am asking those that have specifically discussed this)

Taken from a retailer about the ban of DMAA in Australia; News has been received today that DMAA (also known as 1,3 dimethylamylamine, Geranium & 4-methylhexane-2-amine) shall be banned and a likely date has now been set. In the US supplements containing this ingredient are no longer being produced due to a directive & warning from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In Canada the ingredient is illegal for sale. As of April 9th DMAA was banned in New Zealand & now in Australia there has been an early TGA interim decision on the legality of DMAA. In short the ingredient DMAA shall most likely become illegal for sale from July 31st, 2012. Regulatory authorities have made an interim scheduling which fast-tracks this ingredients ban in Australia. This means all products containing DMAA shall be classified under Schedule 9 of the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons (SUSMP). Thus making the manufacture & sale of DMAA likely prohibited by law after July 31st. As a result, the following products would be illegal for sale by this months end & include; USPlabs Jack3d, Nutrex Hemorage Ultra Concentrate, APS Mesomorph, USPlabs Oxy Elite, Mutant Mayhem, Neogenix Cryochock, CTD Labs NoxiPro, Dorian Yates Nox Pump, VPX Clenbutrx Hardcore, Promera Beta-Cret, Nutrabolics Hemorush & Neogenix Neuroblast. Reports are Muscletech Neurocore shall also be unavailable. We advise we are holding limited stocks of DMAA products. In New Zealand when a similar regulatory decision providing 14 days notice was announced, all retailers sold out within 7 days due to massive & overwhelming consumer demand. The firm ban was then enforced as forecast. Thus we expect it likely all DMAA products shall be sold well before the final day of July 31st (approximately 50% of products and flavors have already sold out in the past month). In the very unlikely event any products containing DMAA remain unsold once this ban takes place. They then, shall not be sold by MrSupplement under any circumstances. Such goods would be destroyed. As a responsible Australian retailer we shall abide completely with regulations once this ban takes effect. The wash up then is if you are wanting supplements containing the soon to be banned ingredient DMAA. It is recommended that you purchase immediately & without delay. With abnormally high demand for DMAA supplements we anticipate selling out very quickly (before the ban date of July 31st is imposed). This ingredient shall never be available in Australia again. Further comprehensive information pertaining to the Australian DMAA ban may be viewed on the TGA web site

World Time Attack Challenge 2012

The problem I see is if cars do not comply with the rules, the coordinators only find this out at scrutineering. What do they do? Do they stop those competitors from competing? If they do, how many cars do you think would miss out? Yes, it would be the entrants fault and many would argue they should not be allowed to race as they knew the rules and should comply. But the event would suffer as their are less cars competing and fans would miss out, therefore its a lose/lose situation - except for those that are playing by the rules. General spectators probably wouldn't be concerned with the rule breaches however for competitors it would be very frustrating. As the event continues and feedback is received they probably will make some changes but I think for now they are focussed on making the event a success; financially and publicly, even if that means overlooking some technical issues... Ideally they would draw a line in the sand for next year; review the rules and make whatever changes are required (based on all feedback and their own vision for the classes) makes the rules crystal clear to all entering in advance advise they will be strictly enforced and competitors wont be allowed to compete if they do not comply with the rules ensure the scrutineers understand the rules actually enforce the rules to ensure a fair playing field within the classes -
Did a PB on deadlift today - 150kg x 3 I'm not sure how much weight I want to try and lose but yep get your point. Ideally drop the fat, maximise the strength and look good - that's the goal from now.
-
Yeah it was that one. He mentioned something about the % probably being mostly water. Anyhow, it gives me some indication of the number. To be honest I was not even concerned with it in the slightest until I was asked in this thread. I have been eating a lot of junk recently so it should not be that hard to bring it down. I'll start having a real crack just before cricket season.

BTW I got tested for body fat tonight. Weight was 83.9kg and height was 171cm. Body fat was tested using a hand held machine (?) not the pincher thingos! Came at 20% body fat. A little bit out from my first guess but inline with Birds estimate!!! Not too bad considering I am eating a lot right now and not doing any cardio at all. PT reckons I should aim for 15% when I start my lean, based on my size, age and in his words 'thickness'.

If you want to create a mass gainer from them, you can purchase the powdered oats and add that to your protein. Its 58g per 100g for the oats and costs $9 for 1kg. Im doing this now for my 'bulk'. It tastes pretty ordinary but its the only way to get a mass gainer combination from BN. Despite the size of the box, that Super Mass gainer wont have many servings. It only has 16 servings at 334g each!

I just bought the Bulk Nutrients WPC chocolate for the first time. Previously was using their WPI chocolate. The WPC has less protein per 30g, 23.x versus 26.x for WPI and it also has more fat and carbs although its still very low compared to alot of others out there and low enough to not be overly worried about them. However it is $50 cheaper when purchasing 5kg compared to WPI. It definitely is a lot thicker when mixed and you need to shake it a lot to make sure there's no clumps which there still is sometimes which sucks, I hate that so much! So definitely does not mix aswell as the WPI. Taste is OK. I dont find either taste of the chocoloate BN proteins to be anything great. They are drinkable and dont taste bad but its not something you actually enjoy. Next time I will get the WPI again as despite the extra cost, it mixes so much easier with no clumps, is easier to drink (not as thick) and has more protetin and less carb and fats. However if you can put up with those small things, you can save yourself $50!!!!

I posted this before - 5'7 and 84kgs. Re preworkout powders, I have used quite a few - Jack3D, Mesomorph, Bulk Nutrients, 1MR, C4 and Assault!! I take them for the following reasons; increase in energy, increase in strength, increase in pump and more focus. Some powders do some of these things better than others but unfortunately one does not do them all. Of them, I like Assault and Mesomorph followed by Bulk Nutrients.

Did a PB of 120kg x 6 squats tonight. Also spoke to a PT about a body fat% test. Couldn't do it tonight as the room was closed but will do it later this week. All this talk has got me curious!!!
-
lol thanks Birds. I might only have 189 posts on here but have been on several forums long enough now to not get upset by this stuff. Your probably right, its likely to be 15-20% as opposed to 10-15% but I wont know unless I get it tested. If I ever do. In any case, other numbers are more important to me for now and I'm happy with the progress so far.
-
You want me to post a picture? Why? Would it make you feel better about yourself? Or were you just 'trying' to be funny? I did say I'd be guessing and did say between 10-15%. If its more, its more.
-
In all honesty I have never tested it (recently). I will get it tested in the next week. I'd be guessing but I reckon between 10-15%????
-
BTW those numbers probably dont mean much without some other information; 5'7 and weigh 84kg's. Started at 82kg, 8 months ago. Try Assault or Mesomorph. I really like Assault, good strength and intensity increase. Pump is not as strong as others but overall I like this the most. Bulk Nutrients pre-workout is also pretty good although you do get used to it after a short while and need to up the dosage. But in terms of bang for buck its pretty good. Cant go wrong with it.

I've been at the gym now for approx 8 months. Last time I trained seriously was 2006! If anyone gives a rats, here are my numbers so far; Deadlifts = 140kg x 5 reps. Tried 160kg today with no straps but put it down. I reckon I could have got it up but chickened out. Squats = 100kg x 4 reps. Have not tried a 1RM yet. This is piss poor and reflective of the fact I didn't train legs very often for the first 5 months of training. I squat (and train legs) once a week now so am seeing quick improvements. Bench = 110kg x 2 reps. This is not touching my chest... probably an inch or two above. Even when only benching 80kg I find it difficult to touch my chest consistently?? Shoulder press = 38kg dumbells x 5 reps. This was 3 weeks ago and not tried again since. I got one up and someone else passed me the other. Cant do the lift of the knee with this weight. Pretty happy with my progress so far but really keen and need to improve my squat and deadlift numbers.

That last video is absolute gold... "dont worry about that EVO you just keep it on the track... what about the brakes Russ?"
-
Looks fantastic... but why have so many brick walls? Would have been nice to have a bit more run off in some places!
-
Both V710 and V70A are current tyres from memory. I have not run these but Mark has run these on the S13 with very good success. They do like higher temps compared to most semis, 36-38psi (although these are not generally considered a semi, not a cams approved semi anyway). Mark estimated an improvement of 1.5-2 sec's a lap at EC and probably half that at Wakefield as compared to a similar sized V70A. Better braking, traction and cornering - which is expected when you look at the tread pattern. Longevity was also very good as he campaigned a set for almost 7 rounds! Other competitors say they are equivalent to an A050 medium or soft compound. For the price I don't think you can go wrong.

The Motorsport Holiday Thread.

Las Vegas Exotics Sadly I didn't do this but my cousin did. He drove 13 exotics for 5 laps each and was given incar and out of car footage. He loved the Aventador's speed but reckons the handling of the Superleggera and Scuderia were unbelievable! Would have the Turbo S as an everyday car!! He has given me a new holdiay goal... -
I Have Always Wanted To Build An Ultima Or Caterham
SRS13 replied to Roy's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
If anybody is after a pretty well sorted Clubman, check this out; Clubman A friend is selling it. Makes 130rwk, weighs 550kg, does easy 1:08's at Wakefield and will go quicker. Only reason for selling is that he bought a brand new one.... a MNR with a 'turbocharged' Hyabusa engine, dry sump, sequential box, digital dash etc = 220rwk and 500kg!!! BTW if you contact me first, we can definitely do something about the price to make it very attractive... -
A Boy's Love For His Rb20

Mate, you are truly a champion for trying out all those turbos. I sincerely hope one of them is perfectly suited to your car! Will keep an eye out on this! Also don't be frightened to post the results at NS.Com in the Motorsport section - even though it is an RB. I am sure some handy information may be taken in the way the different turbos perform on the same 2.0 engine.
