Thanks. It is much larger. Any dramas with fitting it up in place? Is it a direct bolt in, do all the lines match up or does it require some modifications? In relation to Question 5, your gtst 2 pots are the same as the gtr 2 potsI believe, which the GTR master normally comes with. If I run the s13 standard single piston rears will this cause problems with braking?

Before I start, apologies for all the questions but rushing in and asking later has already caused a few headaches OK - About to get an AP Racing kit for the front - AP CP 6600 Caliper with 330mm DBA 5000 rotors and Ferodo 2500 pads. Rears will be standard S13 for now. AP Racing CP6600 Caliper Information Before I do get this: Issues with this set-up, what else will be needed? Do I need to upgrade my master cylinder and brake booster? Will the S13 SR20DET master and brake booster handle it well enough? I dont know what master the S13 has standard. Are the GTR master cylinder and brake booster sufficient? Will upgrading the master and brake booster provide better braking ability? Will upgrading to these items whilst using the standard rears cause bias or other issues? Do I then need to upgrade my rears to R33 GTST or R32 GTR items? is it better to run R32 GTR rears if I get the R32 GTR master cylinder or wont this matter. Thanks in advance guys

Thanks for the comments and help guys. 'If' I do run this kit I will take the larger pad out and run the standard size. That seems to be the consensus amongst many of you on here and NS.com Actually on saying that, I may not run this kit at all. It will be the S14 caliper and rotor or the AP kit. The AP kit has the CP6600 4 piston calipers with 330mm DBA 5000 rotors. It is one of there road kits. Thoughts on this kit? phunky: if you don't mind, what was the price of that kit?

Can I get a quote for R32 GTR slotted fronts to NSW 2766. Also for EBC Yellow pads. Thanks.
-
3-5k, thought it was around that. The kit has DBA 5000 rotors, I have asked to confirm the caliper model number or kit number. The wheels are A-Tech Monoblock 17x8 & 17x9 This is them with the S14 caliper and 324mm rotor. You can also see the lower half of the larger pad covering the disc. A close up of the 324mm rotor and space. There is about 3cm of space between the caliper and the rim.

Thanks guys. As it currently stands I have fitted the S14 caliper with 324mm rotor and will see how it goes. However I am seriously looking at an AP Racing kit using AP 4 piston calipers, 343mm DBA 5000 rotors, braided lines, Ferodo 2500 pads and adaptors - will this fit under a 17inch wheel? Will the BMC cope (SR20DET item) or will this need replacing to a Skyline item? Will this cause issues if I run the standard rear brakes? Cheers.

Thanks Duncan. Power is around 240rwk depending on boost levels I run. Yeah I was quite peeved when it didnt fit as I was told it does. Sounds like the Wilwood kit is one to pass then which makes the scenario easier. I know Unique Autosports sell an adapter to be able to run the GTR caliper. Of the first 2 options which would be best? Which would give better stopping and lasting power?? Option 1 - S14 caliper with 324mm Brembo rotor with adapter and larger Brembo pads cut to suit or Option 2 - R32 GTR Caliper with 296mm rotor and standard sized pads

Hi, Am looking to upgrade my brakes on a S13 Silvia (again!). More braking power is always good! The car is driven mainly on the track and only on the road to and from the track and the tuners. Has done a best of 1:08.8 at Wakefield. It currently has 5 stud conversion with S14 calipers and rotors, Nismo braided brake lines, RBF 600 fluid, Lucas TRW pads and a cusco stopper. Rear brakes are stock with Lucas pads. This set up works quite well however I would like to be able to brake later and with more confidence. My options; 1. I have a kit that upgrades the stock S14 rotors to run 324mm Brembo rotors with bigger pads cut down to suit using adaptor plates whilst retaining the S14 calipers. This is the kit. Brake Upgrade Kit Link 2. I also have R32 GTR calipers that I was planning to run with the above kit but these do not fit correctly. So my option with these are to run the standard 296mm rotor and GTR caliper. 3. Wilwood Brake Upgrade Kit. Have found this kit and was after some feedback on it. Wilwood Brake Upgrade Kit Is it me or does it look like the caliper does not cover the entire surface area of the rotor? Would this caliper be alot better than the S14 and R32 GTR calipers? Would this kit be better than the above 2, by alot? Have tried contacting the seller but to no avail and have checked out the information on the Wilwood site but could not decipher most of the information on it. Wilwood Brake Upgrade Kit USA This looks like the same kit but postage is US$505!!!! Basically which option would be best? I already have the first 2 at home and was going to try them out and then work out which is best of the 2 however I would like your opinions. Thanks.

Nice car, coming along very nicely. Where did you get the dry ice from? Did you buyt it in the crushed or pellet form? What did you use to remove all the little bits of tar remaining?
-
Next time I will! Well done on the time, that is awesome. When you say cannot get enough power, do you mean the 740cc injectors wont let you make the power as they are too small? What power you making current set-up e85 vs 98 pump? Sorry if it is in the previous page, cant be arsed reading it all again!

I called United Petroleum and spoke to the NSW Manager. He told me that Rozelle is the only place in Sydney that sells it and that there were no plans to sell it anywhere else in the next 6 months. Besides United at Rozelle, are there any other places that sell it in Sydney or is only available through them? This put me off as I cannot see myself going to Rozelle everytime I need to fill up, especially as it is a weekend car that barely gets driven. Perhaps I should get another 20 litre drum and stock up... I wouldn't mind an extra 20-30rwk!!!! BTW guilt toy I saw you at WSID on Friday night - how did you go, did you run?

Superlap 2009 Gets A Green Light!
SRS13 replied to Superlap Australia's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Congrats to all the competitors and winners! I was there on the Saturday (Black S13 with GT wing) but couldnt make it on the Sunday unfortunately. Not many cars were there on the Saturday but still more than enough to drool over! Notice the natsoft times dont show all competitors - there were 2 nice R32 GTR's at the practise but arent showing any times on natsoft. Anyone know what happened to them and what they ran? -
Good idea... Should do it. Sponsored by skylinesaustralia.com!!!

Was that Dave's (Dumhed's old) car? If so what times were you doing in that? I dont think he would get over a SR20DET S13 so quickly! Just look around and be patient, something (either S13 or R32 or something else) will eventually come up that will determine which way you go.
-
Congrats Duncan well done! Excuse my ignorance but is this series made up of actual races? If so how many laps per race etc? What are the car eligibility rules?

R32 For Sale on NS.com This might be worth looking at. Note that buying the car is only the beginning, the money just disappears after that. Also dont get put off buying a S13 or 180SX because they are good at drifting, they are also relatively good for track work. Cheap, heaps of aftermarket support and very reliable! Good luck.

Who is going to the Superlap private practise at Oran Park GP on the Saturday 28th March? (or is that in the other thread?)
-
I think he was 551. I tried to enter this but was put on reserve. I was only given a late entry (late as in 8.00pm on Saturday night!) which I could not accept. I had no idea these things are so highly contested and controversial!
-
I'll let you know tomorrow if I am coming!
-
How many spots left? Want to come to this but not sure what I will be doing in 2 months time!!! lol

The EC Private Practise days are generally quite good. We have been going quite frequently. Private Practise Last time we were there they had 7 or 8, 20 minute sessions planned for L2S road car category. On the Saturday 4th April I imagine the track time will be the same ie same amount of sessions, same duration but with more cars on the track at the one time. I might go to this one as well. Who is planning to go?

Cost Of A Tune - Does This Sound Right?
SRS13 replied to Mr Cali's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Another fan (customer) of Yavuz. I have been taking my car there for nearly 5 years. He may not be the cheapest but he sure does do fantastic work, proof is in the driving. There are so many negative stories from supposed reputable tuners and workshops in the Sydney metro area... I can say I have never heard of any about Yavuz/Unigroup Engineering. It seems from the replies above there is a reason for that. -
