  1. spot on!! Took the fan out, connected a 9v battery to it - seems to work fine..... so tomorrow im gona try clean the pins in the power plug.... and pray that it's something as simple as that..... if that doesn't work.... im seriously gona cry!!
  2. ok so i finallly started lookin at it, took out the glove box, took out the filters (might as well clean them while im at it) but now have no idea what im lookin at, which part is the actuall fan?? is this the plug for it in the pic?? and how do i take it out ?? someone please help if you know, i really wana try fix this today..!
  3. ok ok i'll look at it this weekend!!! LOL I really CBF'd but its something I must fix, its my wifes car at the moment with our little one and the aircon must work - not good driving a little one around in a sauna!! thanks for your help skidkid!!!
  4. Seriously, what would posses you to do something like that....
  5. well its not the fuses, I took out evey one, cleaned the pins with a bit of sand paper and put them back in, still nothing.... disconnected the battery for a few hours - nothing again.... can anyone please show me where the 'how to fix' thread is for the electric motor? all I can find is the how to clean your aircon filters... but not the actuall electric motor... is it also behind the glove box?? unfortunately its time to test with a battery as advised above and replace if required... really CBF'd!!! also anyone know where i can buy a second hand/reco motor in the northern suburbs in Melbourne?? Cheers!!
  6. Probably dumb question, but which fuse (whats it called) in the fuse box is the one for the fan?? I had a look at the aircon one - but thought that might be the one for the actual aircon compressor?? which one did you pull out/clean?? Happy Boosting to you too!!
  7. great!! Really sounds like something I really cbf'd doin at the moment!!! If someone knows where it is please send me the link, I couldn't find anything...
  8. hey Guys and Girls, completely out of no where, my fan has just stopped working in the car (98 Stagea RS).... no matter what fan speed, turn it on and off, whether i got it on hot or cold temp - no fan at all!! If i turn on the AC - i can hear the AC compressor turn on under the bonnet, and if I set it to allow air in from outside its ice cold air coz the AC compressor is on.... but still, can't get the fan going, checked all fuses - nothing is blown? anyone had this before?? i was thinking of disconnecting the battery incase something needs a reset....??? any help appreciated!!!!!
  9. cheers for that i'll give it a go..... i've had a few people tell me to try reset the computer, just unplug the battery for a few hours.... something to do with the cold start or something?? maybe computer has itself all confused when the engine wouldn't start when I degreased it and since then has locked itself in some sort of wierd state?? dunno....... car doesnt have an exhaust leak by the way, and new sparkplugs were put in just before I bought the car, approx 3000k's ago, and when I took them out to have a look, they seemed fine, not fouled, not dirty.... etc.
  10. Hi all, this question is for my s13 silvia i have just bought as a daily for the next year or so (before a 25 will be dropped in there and turned into a monster!!) Its a CA18DE - and I cant seem to even be allowed to reply to a thread in nissansilvia.com, and administrators won't answer my emails, so I thought i'd ask the trusworthy SAU forums!! ------------------------------------- When I bought it, there was a little surface oil here and there in the engine bay, so I thought i'd give it a degrease. now I was carefull to not get water in where its not supposed to be - but I was obviously not carefull enough - so then it wouldn't run for the next 40mins - understandable........ the issue is now.... every morning, the first time I start it up, it will missfire like hell for about 10sec or so, sometimes it will take me upto 3 attempts at kicking the engine over for it to start - then once it gets going its fine again and runs perfect, untill the engine completely coolz down (3hrs or more) and I need to start it again...... before I tried giving the engine bay a degrease it never used to do this - it used to start perfectly every time every morning!! I've taken out the coil packs and spark plugs and gave them a good clean - there doesnt seem to be any moisture anywhere at all..... have I possibly damaged a sensor or something?? Sorry for the essay and thanks in advance for any help!!
  11. Hi Everyone, If anyone has a R32 4 Door - preferably NA and thinking about selling it - let me know. I dont want something heavily modified or drift spec - something near stock is preffered - if you have something along these lines please let me know.... Cheers!!
  12. 1-> 89 R31 Skyline TI - factory stock - then over 8 years put about 20g's of mods in it..... awsome car!!!! 2- > 2000 R34 GT-T Sedan Now -> 99 RS Stagea
  13. I dont beleive this untill I see it..... every single car I have ever heard of allows you to put it into nuetral easly and the transmission doesnt 'lock' it into gear! Whats more important - the safety of their Customers or their Engines?? Even if you put it into nuetral with the cruise cable stuck on - the engine will be fine if it revs hard for a little untill you stop and turn off the car, hence the reason they have the 'rev limiter' on (I assume) all cars these days.... In my opinion - this person was an absolute moron and a drama queen (after hearing him on the phone with the police) - and the police officer on the phone with him wasnt any better considering how long it took them to stop him..... Common sense did not prevail on this occasion!!! Its called 'common sense'.... but its not common..... thats my 2c....
  14. 13.8 @102mph - 165rwkw in aussie R31 Turbo street tyres
  15. HAHA I did exactly the same thing back when I had my R31 that auto had a painfull death!! LOL I find that racing on 1/4 mile with big rims is useless(ie 17" or 18").... your not gona get grip!! with my r31, I ran it on 15" Stokies with 225 wide street tyres (Continental's) my first few runs i was skating all of 1st and 2nd.... and running only high 14's... the trick is to DEFLATE YOUR TYRES!!!! that's why you need a bigger profile tyre on a smaller size rim..... so then you have room to deflate them - I had mine down to 16psi which then gave me a 13.8sec pass!! and this is with a manual taking off really hard at 5000rpm!! you will never feel your car launch like that on the street (unless in a GTR) firstly get yourself some 15" or 16" stokies with 225 or 235 tyres on there, and only have about 16psi in em - your not gona get a good time on 17" or 18" wheels. start your burnout on the water... rev out 1st gear.... hit second (turbo on 10psi your car should be able to rev out 2nd no problem!!), and once second gets up high in the revs... let off the brakes a little and slowly roll forward off the water while still giving it heaps (keep it above 4500rpms at least) Then you'll see some SMOKE!!! tyres will be warm - take off as described above, hold it on approx 2000-2500rpms just before you start wheelspin - and I guarantee you'll get a much faster pass......

  25. they are awsome!!! in the cold misty mornings where everything including you mirrors is fogged up..... you need to wipe your mirrors by hand so you can actually see where you are reversing right....... and this can get quite cold on your fingers..... when you have heated mirrors.... as soon as you start your car.... in a matter of seconds they heat up, all the water/mist on the mirror evaporates and you have a clean and clear mirror and you can see where you are reversing perfectly!! also keeps water off them in the rain, making it easier to look in your mirror I think its a very convenient feature!!
