  1. Just got home a few hours ago. It was nice to put a face to some names.
  2. You should post up the video you put on skateboard.com.au. Did you cut and shut those knuckles yourself? You could run spacers or lower offset wheels. Failing that, you could extend the lca. Nice 32.
  3. 7 out of 10. Come on guys.
  4. Lug mount, is your traditional mounting style that comes standard. Radial mount calipers differ, in that the caliper bolts go through the top of the caliper to the upright. It's regarded as the better, stiffer way to mount the calipers. You can get radial mount dogbones.
  5. Cool. Keep us posted.
  6. I was merely speculating based on the photos, due to the nature of the failure, it looks as though the ring gear has separated from the flywheel. But it certainly looks as though your flywheel is a single solid piece flywheel.
  7. Interested.
  8. Pretty impressive for low boost and low revs.
  9. Could it have been damaged in transit, possibly. What's more likely, is that it was damaged when the person assembling the diff was installing the half shafts. They require a decent hit to get them past the circlip. Having said that, is it a big deal? I don't think so. It doesn't look too bad, and I think it will pull straight once bolted up.
  10. Interestingly, it looks as though the ring gear is a press fit to the flywheel and that it's not a single solid flywheel with the ring gear teeth milled into it. That's just asking for trouble. Especially at higher power levels.
  11. Items arrived promptly this morning, and were packed exceptionally well. Thanks again. Tim.
  12. Haha you're right. Overnight parts from Japan will be quicker, but perhaps not cheaper.
  13. I've dealt with them numerous times. They're good guys, but postage may be the killer.
  14. http://www.japaneseimportspares.com.au/itemdetails/45774 R32 GT-R genuine wheel set 16x8J+30 5H/114.3 sec/h #72 Price: $590.00 http://www.japaneseimportspares.com.au/home/
  15. He was referring to Riskings' Pro Fab Engineering thread.
  16. Do you realise that the handbrake works off the drum setup inside the rear rotors and that it is independent of the hydraulic braking system? I would say that a retaining pin, clip or spring has broken in the drum setup or that there's a problem with the hand brake cables or linkages.
  17. Race start is at 17:00 AEDST
  18. Glad we could be of help Terry.
  19. ^Starting from the clean part of the track for once, will hopefully give him the edge. As we as his lower downforce rear wing, to help pass Vettel back if he stuffs it. Missed quali yesterday due to watching Rush. Just watched in now. Come on Aussie Grit.
  20. *Swoon. Mind sharing what you have done in terms of the crankcase/breathing setup?
  21. ^As above, more grip equals more drive. When my car was still standard, engine/turbo wise, I was able to keep up with cars making a lot more power than myself, by running brand new 235 federal 595's. In regards to wheel alignment, if its for drift you don't want to run too much castor. With circuit work, pretty much the more the better, but with drifting too much castor causes positive camber on the inside wheel at opposite lock. Around 7-8 degrees positive castor is a good starting point. But this also depends on driver preference. Run some toe out on the front for better turn in abd start with zero rear toe and work your way in firm there. Hope this helps.
  22. ^Nope, straight fit. Post pics when fitted.
  23. Hey, It was $200 in the end, which I didn't think was too bad, as they had to do some more prep work on them. I have no idea as to how that compares, price wise, elsewhere. On another note, a few little bits and pieces have been turning up. Like this PWR power steering cooler. I figure the standard cooler may not be able to cope with the extra strain of the bigger wheels. I already have a RB25 clutch fan and hub, but this gktech unit is supposed to outflow the RB25 item. TRS tow strap for when I beach it. And finally this little gem. After a track day I always lamented not taking the time to get more footage, but at the time, I was always too busy having fun to worry about it. Hopefully this will be the happy medium.
  24. I'm coming up from Vic on Thursday, but I doubt you guys will be able to keep up...I plan on making the trip in 90 mins...
