White Gts-T's, White Gts-T
White GTS-T replied to White GTS-T's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
On the weekend I gave the car its first shakedown, around my favourite mountain pass. I ventured there with a mate who was riding a Suzuki 1300 GSX-R. God damn that thing is fast. (This reminds me, I need to paint my wiper arms) It was a glorious day there. I would have taken more photos, but I was too busy enjoying the drive. I did take this one though, at a rest stop along the way. It's still being rebuilt since the area was ravaged by fire and floods. The brakes got a got work out, and held up very well though the tight touge. You can see they are quite dusty here. On the way over, I didn't push the car or myself at all, just getting a feel for the new setup and how the car now behaves. On the return trip however, I decided to go a bit quicker, without doing anything stupid, that is. There are a lot of blind corners and tourists coming the opposite direction, who can't stay in their own lane. The new steering, suspension, brake setup is incredible. That's easily the quickest I've been around there and the car still had so much left in it. It just grips for days. Perhaps too much. I hope when it comes time to finally slide it again, the little RB20 can coup with the extra grip. I'm enjoying this grip stuff so much that I just booked flights, accommodation, car hire etc for WTAC. See you there! -
Bring on Suzuka.

Phwoar.

^Haha exactly, you left out the best part! Nonchalantly cruising down the track of his own accord.

Will his Supersofts go to the end of the race though?

For a second there I thought Hamilton passed him under yellows. But you are right.

Here's to hoping Webber can get a good start and have a clean race.

At 4 seconds in the first video is the sound they are referring to. It sounds akin to the blown diffusers I heard, last time I was at Monza. But you are right, every teams exhaust sounds different in person, even those with the same engine manufacture. You can only really pick up the subtle nuances in person. RBR have been getting higher trap speeds since the introduction of their low drag spec wing in Spa, which was again utilised in Monza and now Korea.

R32 Speedo Cable Has Had The End Pulled Out
White GTS-T replied to Rolls's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
It may not be broken, the cable does 'travel' a bit through its outer casing. Although, from memory, there should be a grommet to stop the cable from falling back down through the casing to a certain point. Perhaps that has fallen off? Pull it off at the gearbox and push the cable back through a bit and try that. Failing that, don't bother with a second hand one. A new genuine one is cheap, $80-$100, and its not the kind of job you want to have to do twice, after you realise that the second hand one you just put in doesn't work, or worse, that the cable has 'whip', causing the speedo to bounce erratically at certain speeds. -

http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/09/aussie-rules-straight-shooting-at-j23/#chapter-a-festival-of-fast On the subject of records, another machine that set one at J23 was Matt Earl’s Nissan Skyline GT-R. With a 2.7-litre JUN-based engine built and tuned by Godzilla Motorsport, factory-based H-pattern gearbox and street-legal semi slicks on all four corners, the BNR32 blitzed the radial-tyred GT-R record when it went 8.39 at 164mph (264km/h). It’s rumoured that a US-built GT-R has run 8.28 since, in which case the Australian team now has a little bit of catching up to do. Given the way the GT-R seemed to effortlessly get down the quarter, I think it’s only going to be a matter of time before the Australian car steals it back.

White Gts-T's, White Gts-T
White GTS-T replied to White GTS-T's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Yes it is, thanks for the heads up. I just rang up CAMS and completed the renewal online, while upgrading to an L2S licence. It's current as of today! Much easier than messing about with all that paperwork. Meanwhile, my brother sent me this photo he snapped, as I was leaving his house. -

Yeah I was surprised how well the paint came up. When I first started rubbing the bonnet with the clay bar it sounded like sandpaper, it was so rough. But after a little rubbing it was silent and is now so smooth to touch. I can stop touching it. Mmm World Time Attack *drools. I've been following the builds of as many cars as I can and some of them are just mental. It makes me moist. Urge to go, rising. I sent in an application to become an SAU member just the other day and today printed off the CAMS paper work to renew my expired L2NS licence. I'm not sure which direction I'm going to go aesthetically, in regards to the exterior, but I have the following parts here to go that just need to be painted. Moonface racing rear wiper delete. Boot with no spoiler holes. N1 boot lip (new) Dmax roof spoiler (new) Genuine Ganador mirrors. (new) GT-R front guards. N1 bonnet lip N1 lower lip (New) N1 front bumper vents (New) GT-R indicators (New) GT-R N1 front bumper (is on back order) -

Good choice. Let us know what you think. The only place I had really looked was Revolution Racegear and their line of Bell helmets. Those Velo helmets are a fair bit cheaper than what I was expecting to pay. http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/index.php?PCID=15558&PSO=245&PSID=522650000-&PSV=Primary&CDO=
