a mate in the r31 forum with a modded gts1 has a Kaaz LSD, it has lasted 6 months and is now a single spinner??? 1200-1500 for one of these or another bloke just on the weekend was talking, for $1900 you can get a detroit (spelling) locker to suit the r31 rear??? http://forum.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?topic=54009.0 -

i'd say any that will fit? with the rb20det in the hr30 i have they just ran a wire from the rb20 sensor to the plug at the fire wall for the r30 gauge to work..

interesting, battery on the right??... before i put the rb25det into my r31 i got a can of black heat paint off a mate and went nuts on everything, before that i just had the rocker cover painted in a bright blue, left that as is and the rest went black, things like the power steering resivor and the wiper motor, i had blue leads aswell... looked good.... IMO... the rb25 has a dark blue block, head and rocker covers, all the rest i've painted in a rough finish bronze (for lack of a better work), you can get a huge range of heat paint colours now... i say go nuts....

unrego'd and uncomplied they sell on the r31 site for between $5-$6000, its the unrego'd bit that lowers the price a fair bit, if you spend the $$ to get it rego'd and the condition its in you could get $9000+ for it..

if you want to spend $$ on a hr31 coupe you'd be better specking to a broker to get one imported, maybe something from r31house might be what your after, please use a gts-x not a gts-r, save yourself $10,000 if your just going to put an rb26 in there anyway...M2c if you want a gts-r there is a bloke here on the gold coast selling one in mint condition something like 80,000Ks on the clock for $15000 or something close....

just a quick question, oil volume, do you add extra oil once you have installed the cooler? i have a kit sitting here ready to go on (need to find the rubber o rings) but am unsure if i need to add extra oil to engine?? brain says yes, just wanting to confirm... cheers, Matt

Hello, looking for instructions on how to wire a pivot speed meter in, i had wired it into an rb20det, lost the instructions and need to wire it for an rb25det. earth and power are fine its where the other 2 wires need to go to.. cheers, Matt...

Thaks mate, i tested the #1 injector plug last night, using a test light i placed one end on the body and the other to each terminal one at a time and cranked it, the light never flashed, i also spoke to Kev, the bloke who wired the loom, he thinks i may have blown the relay but he's coming to the coast this sat and will stop in to have a look. the power to the ecu has been taken from the original r31 ecu plug next to the AFM, kev said the power to the injectors comes from there to. i think i'll wait for him to came down and he can sus it all out... gordon, i was specking to syphon about your conversion and he said you had a few problems too, he also said yours is running perfectly now..

Sorry Gordon didn't read the last part of your reply, i have wired in a relay so the r31 pump is working fine, primes when the key is turned and can feel the pulse in the fuel line when its cranking, then no pulse just after we stop cranking. if there is no power to the injector what would be the fix for this?

yeah they are in the correct order, checked and double checked, fuel filter line connected to the fuel rail, return line coming from the fuel regulator??

it must be a S1 as i have an ignitor and TPS, all the coil packs seem the same, identical to rb20det coil packs.. i'll check there is power to the injectors tonight then go from there, if there is spark but its not starting i'd say its injectors.. we can also test there flow tonight to just in case??

the loom for the engine and auto box are from an r33 and have been professionally wiried to mate with the r31 system, the only issue i had there was tyhe neutral saftey switch, which i have bridged for now for starting perposes... i just spoke to the bloke who wired it and he suggested manually checking for the injectors firing, first testing power is getting to #1 injector (test light on each injector wire, testing one of the 2 wires at a time), if power then remove the CAS and turn it with the power on so i can hear if the injector are firing... oh and it came with plugs already installed..... HEHE...

Ok, i put in an rb25det into my r31 last week end, its an auto and has all been wired to suit, fuel is flowing to the engine but its not firing, we got spark to #1 plug then checked #2 and nothing, then we checked #1 again and nothing there??? also the plugs were dry which after 20 min of cranking the engine over trying to get it to start, i'd asume the plugs would be wet with petrol?? we tried to do timing last night but lost the light, tonight with lights we'll look at the timing and check injector flow and palse... looking for ideas before i have to take it to a work shop....

I'm just about to put an rb25det into my r31 but there are 3 places where hoses should go but i have no idea where the hoses come from to go to these places? the first is at the front of the plenium there is a small hose the goes to the fuel pressure regulator, its the larger one next to it that has no hose on it, i need to know where this one comes from... next is at the back of the plenium there is a tiny outlet there with no hose on it and the larger one next to it ( about the same size as the one i'm talking about at the front of the plenium) if someone can take pics or explain where the hoses for these come from that would be a life saver as the engine goes in over this week end.. i put a set of hr31 import struts, rotors and calipars on my GXE and it made a would of difference, i did use new rotors, pads, reco'd the calipars and master cylinder too though i have a set of re-drilled r32 gts-t rotors and 4 pot calipars waiting to go on once the rb25det goes in this weekend, i'm looking forward to that stopping power....and the pulling power....

i got mine through slidewize imports about 2 years ago, Zac is a trader on this forum, if you do a goolge search on bubby club you'll get the aus contact for them, i think its powerplay imports now???
