  1. i'll be installing a SAFC on tuesday week so i'll post up a dyno sheet for ya...i'm running the rb20det though....
  2. took some more pics today. its hard to see what with it being black but the top of the core sits inline with the 2 slits just below the bonnet...last pic is an old one...
  3. the inlet and outlet sit below the surport bars you bolt the front bumper and lower lip too.

  7. i've read (ZOOM mag) that if you use an adj cam gear on the standard exhaust cam you can get a few more final KWs' but alot better midrange power.... :burnout:
  8. a few grams i'm not worried, i've got some 1.5mm washer that will do the job nicely, i'm more concerned with snapping the bolts on the strut tops
  9. i have a problem with my front tower brace, with the rb20det in place the brace sits on the throttle body or has 0.5mm space too close to tell, at low revs -2500 with the engine vibrations its started to put a shudder through the car big time, i was thinking would placing say 3mm of steel washers on the bolts then the brace back on top of them to raise it effect the funtion of the brace... seems stupid but i just need an answer....
  10. what your saying is a standard lsd is good for just that, if you want it to work well with more power going to it then a rebuilt to get a high preload is the call...
  11. if you want something like that then i have one in the boot of the r30 i'll post up a pic on mon as its still in the boot and the cars at the shop... its black, a hardish rubber and has some writing on the side, forgot what it says...
  12. the car is in the shop at the moment, getting clutch replaced, will get the diff oil changed as well, you know after all this time the next place its going to is the compliance place to get the seats and mod plate fitted then rego and new personal plates...
  13. what your saying is i've paid idiots who didn't take the time to do something right, and all in need is to boost the voltage of the signal! this will fix the problem so i can run the SAFC and tacho.... by the way its a autometer tacho i'm using not the standard one... thanks to browny and sydneykid and everyone else for your help now i'm off to have a work with an auto sparkie.....
  14. the thing is is that wire from my ecu has no signal at all, its dead, been tested by two auto sparkies now and told no signal....
  15. my question was for the r32 rb20det, http://www.rb20det.com/ecupinout.html thats a pinout diagram for the r32 ECU, if i can get the tacho to run from somewhere else on the engine would that signal be ok to hook up the safc to aswell?

  18. heres a link to there website http://www.first-inc.co.jp/buddyclub/p1/p1_lup1.htm i got mine from www.slidewizeimports.com, i'd say for the 17/8 your looking at 6-8kg each, from when i ordered them to getting them was just over a week paid under $1600 for 17/8 and 17/7 sent from sydney to gold coast..
  19. if you have a pin output diagram ( www.rb20det.com ) your looking for pin 7 for the tacho output wiresplice into that anywhere for a signal...
  20. toward that it's a simple 4 cylinder tacho mechanism (180sx) getting a six cylinder pulse from the ECU, voltage is different or something, when it came to the SAFC the rb20 ecu had a signal that went to the safc where as my rb20 ecu just dosen't have a signal at all, sorry mate thanks for the help though..
  21. its more the SAFC im thinking of rather than the tacho as the sparkie said he can fix the tacho no worries.

  23. i've looked into both the rb25 and vg30 turbos as a cheap upgrade for my rb20det, what figures i seem to get as to rwkws is around the 180-190 for the rb25 (14psi) and 200-210 for the vg30 (14psi) these figures are with the following other mods, good fmic, full turbo back 3" exhaust, POD, remapped ECU or piggy back system (safc), maybe upgrade the fuel pump to...the good thing is these turbos on the rb20 can run 14psi of boost all the time, set 14psi as low boost and 16-(18psi on the vg30) for high boost and your laughing...pulls all the way to the red line too...anything above these power levels and your going to need to look for larger injectors but now i'm going too far...
  24. theres the kit for the GTS 4door, always wanted one of those if i was keeping the r31. try powerplay (i dont know any contact details) as they can get kits from japan for the r31.. saw a drift style bonnett from japan that was $1000 that i would have killed for...by the way do you have a 2 or 4door r31?
  25. cheers...well aware of that, does anyone know if this problem can be fixed without replacing the ECU.
