  4. are you talking full rebuilt to increase the capacity, some of the n/a z car L28 engines run 3L+ capacitys, its the block your talking about is'ant it? looking back phat mr30 answered quicker...
  5. more free flowing exhaust is a great start, 3" all the way....with the afm swap you might find that there would be other things involved that would = $$$ a new programable ECU to work with the afm, stick to the basics as they work 1000 posts woops....

  11. was'nt looking to match them but as the mag says it car'nt hurt... HPI have used that same write up a few months ago but was only one page that time, the interior for the car they used is the same as mine...no specker in the centre concile with mine though.. :headspin:
  12. once the turbo runs at full rpm (silver top makes full power at 6500 engine rpm)its not going to produce more power so the only way to go faster would be to change gear :headspin:
  13. single adj cam gear can help with that, i just got the new HPI mag it cam with a copy of ZOOM that had all the factory cam settings for all nissan engines, also the HPI had a 2 page write up on the dr30 one of the HPI mags i've got has a artical on a bloke who re-mapped the nics ECU and how to get some good power out of it!!

  15. i was running my rb20det with no intercooler only around the block as would have big problems with changing gears, major power loss to the point of almost stalling/ cutout.. fitted the fmic 3 weeks ago and made the world of difference, reduced the over all running temp and a huge difference in power with NO cutout...
  16. i've driven a r31 gts-x with the nics red top and there was nothing there to make me smile in my eyes my rb30e goes harder, from memory the nics red top was only 20hp more than the l20et, to its defence though it was the very next 6cyl engine nissan produced after the l20et, silver top has 205hp at the fly same as the intercooled fj20, produces around 15 more Nm at 6500rpm and with around $2500 in mods should produce around 160rwkws, rb25 turbo and remap 180-200wrkw, vg30 turbo and remap of stock ECU 200-220rwkw...parts and upgrades are at your fingertips from a range of places!! my two cents...

  19. i only have the r/s badges on the front guards, will look for a dohc rs for the rear and try to get a r32 gts-t badge for the bonnet, passenge side on the front lip of the iron mask....other than that its just the badge on the steering wheel..
  20. i'll post up a pic for ya... it would be the ultimate street sleeper though.. just think you pull up beside this sweet looking r30 hatch and the first thing you see is DATSUN.....

  22. anyone want a "datsun" badge for there r30. i have one for a hatch :nowigetit how much camber do you guys have on your cars?? :bat: does anyone know if there is a difference in the spacing for the calipar mounting points on the dr30 and the hr30 as i'm looking at the jenesis front coilovers and they are not inserts but the whole thing just put on your rotors and calipars

  24. power steering is a straight swap from a mr30, i dont have ps on mine and at low speed -40kms/h its heavy above that its a one finger job, go figure!! i have this car and a daily driver so that is something of a releaf as i can work on the r30 and do everything else day to day, not without a car, one thing that got me to get the r30 was 1150kgs with plenty of under bonnet room for the little essentals, quad cam v8, if i wanted. add the mod cons and you add weight 1250kgs for the dr30 intercooled turbo...
