HAHAH yer we had that bloke turn up to the 31 skyline club dyno day last weekend, though he would be cool and do a burn out as he left, although he failed to realise we had his name and rego from the dyno entry and also quite a few members with cameras out, total retard. As for crazy conversions, Honda S2000 engines in the engine bays of S600 and S800's, couple of crazy euro's have done this, they fly. the little standard S600 only weighs around 600kg all up

  12. Yer what you have listed there isnt a problem up here, pretty much as long as nothing is hanging off, no oil dripping out, and the tyres are ok, as well as the wipers/washers and all exterior lights work you will be fine. Most mechanics up here are ok, best bet is to use a mechanic shop that deals alot with imports, then once you got the RWC its as the others said, over to the transport department, fill in the papers and pay the cash for the rego. good luck with the move

  18. Genuine Nissan RB20DET head gasket is $130 retail, im assuming the 25 gasket is about the same cost, If you are pretty good with the tools you could remove the head yourself and send it down to Chilton Engineering phone number is 3391 1672, we use them all the time at work, speak to David let him know that you were recommended by daniel from alfa romeo brisbane. we just got a 4 cylinder head back from them, pressure tested stripped, valves re ground for about $500. it will be about $700 or so for a 6 cylinder head at a guess. knowing like most nissan's they just split the head gasket and the head is ok, past 3 nissan heads i have seen the gasket blows out, check the head to see if its flat then bolt a new gasket in and away you go. 21. 1/10th to get up and running depends, normally near the end of a year or when a new chassis comes out you can pick up and older car that is setup fairly cheap. But to get setup with all the radio gear, spare parts, spare engines you could be looking $3000 with new parts. Its fairly cheap buying stuff from overseas, RC-Mushroom normally have some good prices. I know they use to put chains across the track, not sure now, they got taller fences. You can always go next door to Trackside RC and pay a small fee and they will let you drive on the track.
  22. Well hopefully just the parts, bodies can smell a little. Not good to hear, i posted a thread up in the QLD section of the R31 skyline club, a little more coverage of this can't hurt hope you get it back
  23. hahha yer my neighbour was an offical at this event, the 1/5th scale rc's are sweet, but my bank balance doesn't allow for that, its 1/10th for me until i start hitting the better money

    Help!

I really don't see how you can get done for having your plate offset to one side, if it is veiwable under their rules, then its legal. I work on Alfa Romeo's, with the design of their front ends the factory mounting position for the number plate is offset on the left hand side of the vehicle, there was something back in 98 when the 156 was first released here that they had to change some rule allowing this, not 100% sure on what state of what the rule was, but still we have never had any customer complain of being fined for an offset number plate. Find out the rules and if you are sweet under then take it futher. Good luck
