  1. Hmmm not exactly the present you were after ay Mitch..... oh well, have a good day anyway, Happy Birthday! Your car will be common enough soon..... just give a year or so, they will just keep getting cheaper.... like all of the imports! How many Companies complying these now? I could check.... too lazy (err I mean busy).
  2. Hey Al you need to get this one straight B4 you do any silly like put a deposit on one in Japan! YOU CANNOT COMPLY A NON-TURBO (in Aus). So keep looking. If you are really frightened of the using more fuel than a falcon then maybe this isnt the car for you. It is possible (so I am told) to get them onto LPG. Dont know of anyone whos done it yet though. I also dont understand why anyone would buy a Stagea and not opt for AWD. Thats one of their best points.
  3. Hip Hip Hooray Happy with mine too..
  4. Thanks for everyone that did some time. We had a ball, and I hope that you all did. That was one very eventful Targa. Even Jim Richards & Barry Oliver said it surpassed all their expectations. See my post at http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=181972 for a couple of photo's of some of the Stagea's.
  5. Well that was some weekend! I managed a few nice fast legs, but some very slow ones with lots of stopping and things to do! Never mind that was my job, checking the course for the rally cars. AHG driving course was so well set up though, that we only moved one sign, then the 2nd lap was pretty fast. Also one of the other drivers was so impressed with the Stagea that he now wants one... who can blame him? I ended up doing about 1200kms over the 4 days, and had an absolute ball. Here are the 000A, 000B and me (Advance 2) at Bindoon service stop. We were well before the rally cars, hence none there. I didn't get to see much actual rally action until we had finished our duties on Sunday. Winner was Jim Richards, 2nd Tony Longhurst, 3rd Ross Dunkerton. Roll on QTW 08. Rally photo's should be up on the Quit Targa West site soon.
  6. All I know is that I wouldn't want that droning bloody exhaust on my car, it hurt my ears just listening to it. Can't imagine having to put up that all the time!
  7. So It's all on this weekend.... only 5 Stagea's as Course cars, 3 S1's (2 Dark Green and 1 Silver) and 2 S2's (1 silver and my bluey). Here are the easiest places to see all the cars together. Tomorrow afternoon at Motorplex from 2:30pm - 4:30pm. Forrest place on Friday morning from 7:30am , for the big send off, followed by Friday Morning at AHG (Perth Airport), at 9:15am. Keep an ear out for them en-route!! Friday night at Northbridge (James St) is one of the easiest place to see all the cars together. There are 87 race cars. Come along and even get an autograph or 2. I'll put up some photos after the event. For people from east it should get eome air time, but don't know what time or channels. Check out the website as there are some great spots for viewing, and to have a bit of a drive, like Bindoon, Muchea, and Toodyay. Oh and the Zig-Zag (uphill) on Friday.
  8. How about brake pads, I don't care too much of the condition, I want them for re-bonding. Just so that I don't have to take mine off the road. Unless you know of a supplier of new S2 pads. I'd also be interested in the rears and hand brake pads for the same reason. Thanks
  9. Go the Prime Editions...... Gotta luv that leather... and you will get to use those heated seats. Have fun with it.
  10. Hey guys, if you want to see a few Stagea's cruising around the hills of Perth, make sure that you go and see Targa West this year. 6 Stagea's in all are running as course cars.... mine included. See the post at http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=178869 and visit www.targawest.com.au The opening day of competition at the 2007 QUIT Targa West tarmac rally will be run in memory of the great Australian motor racing legend Peter Brock. Peter’s brother Lewis Brock, his partner Julie Bamford and his co-driver from last year, Mick Hone will all be present for the start of the rally. The three will be visiting the Thursday prologue and the Friday morning rally start in Forrest Place in the heart of Perth, where they will have a chance to catch up with friends from the world of motor sport including Bathurst legends Jim Richards and Tony Longhurst, both of whom are competing in this years rally. Gonna be good weekend!
  11. Good guys, thanks for all that are doing something. It should prove to be a really good event. With enormous interest already being shown in this year’s event and big name competitors such as Jim Richards and defending champion Ross Dunkerton confirming their entries. Tony Longhurst is also coming over for the event in a special car. I'll try to acknowledge people as I drive through. Just so you all know I am driving my Bayside Blue S2 Stagea as "Advance 2"..... should be easy to see...... it now looks like this. There will be 5 other Stagea's as Course cars, and a V35 4 door Skyline.... all courtesy of Autowholesale.com. Here is a snippet from the Targa West website. The opening day of competition at the 2007 QUIT Targa West tarmac rally will be run in memory of the great Australian motor racing legend Peter Brock. 12 months on from the tragic accident which took Brock’s life on the first day of the 2006 event QUIT Targa West Director Bob Schrader said organisers are keen to ensure that his memory lives on through the sport he loved. While the day will be one of high emotion for the whole motor sport community, organisers are keen to ensure it is run as a celebration of Brock’s life and memory as opposed to a ‘memorial’ event and are honoured that Peter’s brother Lewis Brock, his partner Julie Bamford and his co-driver from last year, Mick Hone will all be present for the start of the rally.
  12. 49,wife and child, have a dog, but don't take him in it. Wife drives car just a much as me. I get to clean it, maintain it and take to the drag track (once). Most enjoyable car I ever owned.

  14. Hey Paul thanks for organising a great cruise, a few very silly boys, but only a few. Cops were ok, but a bit dumb closing the car park.... "Ok sarge we got 'em rounded up".... "You cannot escape come out with your hands up"..... haha, I think they been watching too much TV. Very foggy, and a little too late for us oldies to go on to Midland. Great fun all the same. Man I couldn't beleive how good the ATTESA is in that weather, nor could a couple of 'lines. Guess we'd better think of joining now! I meant to introduce myself to a few guys and never really got time at the meets, so much going on. Cheers John
  15. I got a deal with Rainx and ATTESA!! See you SOR guys at Carousel. 9pm.
  16. Damn :laughing-smiley-014: Oh well....what I said still goes and went then too!!
  17. AS Goldzilla says, s'right..... but don't think that you are going to get the rear wheels spinning..... I can't even feel a twitch not even in the wet. The power take up to the front is so fast that you would swear they were full time AWD. Have fun though.... they are one awesome fun to drive machine..... where are my keys!
  18. Actually the "overdrive on the autobox isn't really.... but it has a lock-up convertor. Which drops the revs more than 4th. The easiest way to take this off is to put the stick in the Tiptronic slot, but don't change down. You'll here the revs lift straight away. Putting it 3rd it too low, and will restrict speed and use lots more fuel. The snow button would be useful on very slippery surfaces, such as boat ramps etc.... 'cept I aint ever takin' mine that near the sea!! Also you shouldn't use the 50/50 button unless you are off road and wheels can slip, ie loose gravel or sand. IMO you can't beat the full auto... it has some very smart brains telling it what to do. I mainly use the tiptronic for change down on corners and then put it straight back into D, certainly makes the engine brake.
  19. See my post to this before http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3157428 Mine goes to 35kp/h, and up to.... well higher than than 110 kp/h Mine was $640
  20. If you want a (fairly) cheap program, you can't go past Corel Draw, it comes with everything including Photo Paint, which will do everything Photoshop will do. It also has a lot of photo editing tools just in Corel Draw. It takes a lot of practice to produce good results. (except for the simple stuff). I have run my business with it for 13 years, since version 4, now on version X3 (13). I also have a print and cut machine. Does decal cut outdoor stickers. If anyone on here wants anything done I would charge $80/linear meter at 1330 wide. If you want to see the sort of results that can be achieved , have a look at the Crusty Demons Ute on our website. http://www.appealingsigns.com.au/Signs%20-...es%20-%2024.jpg However this takes expert fitting, and also still took 14 hours to apply, about 8 hours of artwork! All done in vinyl though, and can be removed without a respray. All artwork done in Corel Draw.
  21. Wot? pleeze speel tis out in inglish.
  22. So what's the go if I am not a member of SAUWA, can I come to check it out, or do I have to join 1st?
  23. Hi everyone, I am an official in the Targa West Tarmac Rally which is on from 6th - 9th of September. The organisers still need help in the form of volunteers (and cams approved officials if there are any). They are mainly looking for Spectator Marshalls. If anyone has any time free to get involved that would be great. You get to see the event for free (or part of it), and receive a free cap & T shirt, meet some new people, and take part in a historic and growing event. It may also give you the chance to meet some of Australia's best drivers. You can register online at http://www.targawest.com.au and go to "Volunteers", fill out the form. People are mostly needed for the Sat 8th & Sun 9th, but if anyone that can do more it will most appreciated. Contacts are all on the site if you have any questions. Anyone wishing to be just a spectator should also see the website for the best and up to date info.
  24. AND...... in my book the best of them all the Lamborghini Espada from 1970. Displacement was 3929cc thanks to a bore and stroke of 82 x 62mm, the Bizzarrini-designed V12 producing 325bhp at 6500rpm. A compression ratio of 9.5:1 and six twin-choke Weber 40 DCOE 20-31 sidedraught carbs were used, (imagine tuning this!!) but even though this motor incorporated many of the period upgrades made to Miura's, output was slightly down because of the larger air-conditioning units and power brake requirements of this luxury GT. However, despite its size and 1625kg weight, Lamborghini’s zany new model instantly became the fastest full four seater on the planet. If you look carefully the tailgate is 1/2 glass, cos the window is so raked that you only had about 6" to look through..... I could put up with it though. Boasting a 155mph top speed, 0-60 took just 6.4 seconds, hey that's nearly as fast a Stagea.... :laughing-smiley-014: AND we worry about economy!! haha
  25. But not all Reliants were so crap.... the Scimitar had the 3litre Essex V6 (man & Auto), in a 'glass body, and went faster than Capri Then there was the Volvo P1800ES..... very cute, and strangely it didn't seem to be such a nuisance on the road as other Volvos!
