Andy, I think that Simon is right, $21,000. Nobody pays for mods. Why respray it. It's just more money down the drain. Better sell it for a little less and let someone else spray it. What about taking a cheap Stag on it, then at least you'll still have one, might be able to use your mods and free up a few grand all at the same time.

Hey Kylie You can always meet the northerners at Hillaries and cruise back with them. That should be far enough!! I was going to suggest Rockingham, but thought that that would be too close! Lake Leschanautia woud be ok though, but dont think I'd be swimming there.

Thanks for the compliments......... just shows you what you can find if you look. I'll start a separte post on "spotted" after the photos arrive. It will be in Nagoya on Thursday. Where it will have a full inspection and lots of photos taken. Then after they receive the dosh, they'll ship it. Hmmm Next ship to Brisbane, 2 weeks tops. Compliance 1 week, (they reckon) and then shipping to Freo. This is likely to be the biggest wait. I'd say 4 -6 weeks. The off to licensing here. So may not make it in time for an early Jan cruise, (just to make sure that we STAY on topic) , and having said that, any ideas of where we should go? Here's mine..... Mandurah Whiteman Park (can go here in March as the Classic Car show should be on then) One of the dams Toodyay or other historic town..... dont forget that it'll likely be hot, so close to the coast might be best.

Hey guys, better make it about mid January, we might, just might be able to bring the new toy. We got at auction today. YAHOOOO!!! :PBJ: Comes with this... aero kit, 18s, black leather, xenon lights, wood combination steering and wood panel, exhaust, aero mirrors, keyless and spare key, seat heater, (very useful for those cold Perth days, yeah right), dash mount TV. Now all we have to do is get it here and pay for it!!

Cant use my Consul Capri; at the painters,(probably will be for the next 6 months!!) My wife and 3 yo will be coming along too. I live south - Coogee, so would be happy to meet at anketell road for the pre-cuise. Can someone pm me for a mobile then we can make arrangements. Anybody game enough to let me have a drive of their Stagea..... haven't driven one yet... only a Skyline , I 've only had a good look at a few too. But Sunday'll fix that...

So guys, seeing as this is the buyers guide. Can someone give us a rundown on each model, and what you get with it. (including the non-compliable non-turbos). If possible can someone also explain the different chassis No.s. It all gets pretty confusing when browsing the jap sites, as to what you're actually looking at.

Dunno, that's waht the rear badge says, but like I said in another reply it don't matter now! I'll see if the co. in Japan can find a Turbo for that sort of dosh!! (doubt it )

Well Actually it doesn't matter any more, as I cancelled the car in Japan this afternoon. No Cost Phew!! You're all right, can't comply a non turbo. Bugger, really pissed off, but like they say if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!!! the Stag was a silver 99, with 81,000 km, a few bumper scratches (5 in all) a cigarette burn in the center console arm rest, everthing else perfect and my offer of A$2400 was accepted!!. Spent the day trying to organise things, THEN found out about the non-compliance. We obviously need a register for Boring cars as the non-turbo isn't powerful enough!! Seems really stupid. But it wouldn't be the first time a stupid law was made!!! Back to the drawing board. I guess I'll have to find a Turbo after all, It's just that I want an S2 with FAT, and don't want to end up paying more than have to. Maybe I'll have to look at Skylines as there is only one person that can comply a Stag in Perth, and they are a dealer too. I've had a look at their (overpriced) stock and I wasn't impressed. I write more as I find out. Every day I find out how little I know.... man, this is some learning curve!

Hi Guys I have just joined, and have a Stagea on hold in Japan. I am wondering the best place to get it complied when it arrives. Its a Non-Turbo, RS Four, Series 2, 1999. I still have everything to organise, including shipping (and all payments!!) Any help starting woudl be much appreciated. Thanks
