Swat Stickers To Be Reproduced
Appealing replied to Appealing's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
OK after reading the whole post again, here is the goushuu sticker, altered as requested. Please don't worry about the colours they have been colour matched to the original sticker and print fine. If someone wants to give me numbers then I'll print them off. The fluro green line is the cutting line, so ignore that too. John -
Swat Stickers To Be Reproduced
Appealing replied to Appealing's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The stickers were printed (for WA) in early December, and given out on a (SAU) run, that lots were turning up to, but never did! They were also given out at a "Whoop Arse Wednesday" drag meet, and again at Wanneroo Barbagllo raceway. The enthusiasm was so overwhelming that I only gave out about 5!! These are being proudly worn on some cars. I will keep them in my centre console, for when we have a better turn-out. If you guys in other states want them. I don't mind modifying the template, with whatever you can make out of SWAT, (or twat if you like!!) Forget the japanese, unless someone want's to send me the text changed to a curve, and must be a vector file. If you don't understand this lingo, then forget it, cause it'll take up too much time. The stickers are rated for about 4years are easy to produce, and I haven't charged for them. BUT, I am not prepared to foot the postage. So if you want one, either nominate one person in your area or PM me, and send a SAE, to my address and I'll send the stickers by return. I can't see any other easy way. I wouldn't charge more than $5 each even if I was selling retail, and it really isn't worth the hassle, with exchange of funds etc. Sorry I haven't posted the answer earlier. I have been busy sailing ..... my other passion. -
Don't use a rag.... use a paint brush and keep the turps on the glue, as runs down just keep brushing it back up.... be patient, time is your friend here. When the glue is soft, get a soft piece of plastic, (so that you don't scratch the paint) and scrape it off, it should roll up like a load of snot, wipe it off on paper (kitchen towel works really well) and repeat this process until it is all off. Use a rag last, to clean up any residue. If you use a rag 1st, you will have to rub hard. This is what generally "fades" the paint, the rubbing, not the turps. If the area looks brighter after, use a paint renovator on the surrounding area, to match it up. The paint under the badge will usually be in better condition than (the sun damaged paint) that's around it. This may not be the case if your car is just in from Japan. The sun is many times less harsh there. 1. Turps should not damage paint. It is a very slow solvent. Meths, thinners etc will damage paint. Other slow solvents that can be tried are kerosene, and diesel, (but I know that they don't work as well. 2. If you use a rag, you will smear the glue as it softens, you also use far more turps. The idea here is to use the solvent (turps) to soften the glue. This only happens while it is in contact with it. Which is why rags are useless. 3. Find a smallish paint brush (10mm is fine) and "paint" the turps onto the glue. It will run down, so use the brush to keep moving it back up. 4. After some time, (usually 2-5 mins) you will find that the glue has softened. Use a soft piece of plastic to get rid of the glue, softer plastic is best as it is less likely to scratch the paint. Lift and scrape the softened glue from the surface, then dispose of it. Sometimes only the top layer will have softened and you may have to repeat parts 3 & 4 several times. 5. When all of the glue is off, then use a rag with turps on it, to get rid of any residue. 6. If required polish the area to match up the rest of the paint. 7. The only paint that is going to be affected by turps is enamel. Do a test patch 1st, somewhere inconspicuous with a rag and see if you get any colour on the rag. If your car is in original paint, I doubt that it has any enamel on it. It is hardly used anymore. Enamel usually goes powdery in the first couple of years. By the way, I run a sign business in Coogee. I have done lots of badge removal, this way. It works well. If there is still some foam (sponge) from the badge on the car even better as it hold the turps there, right where you need it. If you still have doubts, PM me, I'll give you my phone number, you can come around and I'll have a look and help you. It's all pretty easy really. John

Thanks to everyone that had anything to do with the organisation of this event. I personally had a ball. At the same time learnt heaps. This is a very cheap event, considering that you get expert tuition, and can go as fast as you are able. So anyone reading this and thinking of having a go.... get onto it, you won't regret it.

For those interested I ran a set of Chuckie's re-bonds around Wanneroo raceway on Thursday night. About 40 laps with no problems at all. They got plenty hot enough too, so hot that the fluid started to boil at one time, which meant that the pedal nearly went all the way to the floor. After a cool down lap and 5-10 mins before I went out again, they were cool enough and fine for the rest of the evening. I am very happy with my purchase!

Hey Dale, at last something we can agree on!! Also... my opinion..... These are very average cars in Japan.... and therefore because most people want something a little different, the prices are lower. There are lots of them at the Auctions. It really comes down to supply & demand. And they are FUGLY.... (apologies to all current owners.... haha) Oh and most S2's have also fallen drastically.......

HI Mark.... in that case probably won't be solved by putting in another. Try re-aligning the window, you might get a little more height on it, more often though it is the angle of the window. You might be suprised what you can adjust out. The other thing that is also likely is the door hinges may be worn and showing it the window seal. try taking some measurements against the passenger door. Cheers John

When you make the 1st post at 7:48pm for a 9:00 meet..... what can you expect? Obviously spur of the moment, but for some of us, it takes a bit longer than that to get organised! (not to mention go to Midland). If it had a bit more fore-thought, then I am sure that the turn out would have been a lot better..... Don't forget the 5 P's (Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance)!! Next time.......

Hi Mark When you say "it's stuffed" exactly how is that? Is it torn? If it isn't it maybe just window adjustment. If it is damaged then try the dealer that you got it from, as most dealers (importers) will help source parts to THEIR customers. Otherwise, Nisswreck may be able to help. email [email protected] Or check out their website. There are a few wrecking around Oz. NZ could also be a good place, the rubbers aren't heavy. So try www.trademe.nz Good Luck

Stagea Auto Fourth Gear / Tiptronic Problem... Help!
Appealing replied to nDuDut's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hi, after having another think about it. I forgot to ask if the auto is showing "D" on the dash.... if it is, well then it may need more sorting. Where in Perth are you? I am in Coogee, feel free to PM me if you want to have a look at anything in mine. I don't like the sound of that "loom that does nothing"!! Car manufacturers don't put very much in any car if doesn't have a purpose. You just reminded me why I don't like other guys installing things... Best of luck on Wednesday. -
Hi guys.... A chance to show what you can do on the track in your stag, (or other car). It's a great night with good tuition, and you'll learn plenty as well as have a ball. see this thread.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Li...1s-t201628.html then follow the links to No Limits Car Club, and give Tracy a call if you want to go. She'll get you in, I'm, sure. Fairly low numbers so far, and that means more track time. See you there.

Stagea Auto Fourth Gear / Tiptronic Problem... Help!
Appealing replied to nDuDut's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I mean that they might have done it the lazy way and cut into one of the wires that controls the tiptronic in order to get power for the radio... thereby stuffing the auto about..... I don't know I am only thinking out loud. But worth checking. The button next to the shift is as Stagman describes it.... I would be looking under the console in this area first. The other thing that is possible..... is that the shift lever is now somehow out of alignment, and isn't really going into D.... maybe it just looks like it is.. and it is actually in 3rd.... that'd do it....maybe they didn't put the console back together properly, the more I think about the more likely it seems. -
It seems that the application to SEVS was made for a reason. Now that it is on the list, Nissan have 18 months to apply (and meet all requirements) for a mass import licence. Otherwise they forfeit the right to import the car.... then "Hello imports".... the price will tumble, (not enough for me I fear!!).

post in the events section too..... aw man I thought that I had the scoop!!

Stagea Auto Fourth Gear / Tiptronic Problem... Help!
Appealing replied to nDuDut's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
There could be a couple of problems, compounding the situation, or could be something else entirely. One, I wouldn't suspect the box, until you've looked at everything else. 1st, I'd check fuses, BUT... I'd be suspicious of wires that may have been cut or tampered with under the centre console. The tipronic switch, when pressed will show a light on the dash (near the speedo). If nothing happens, then suspect that the switch may have been disconnected. Also have a a look at the other buttons.... see if you have the "Snow" button.... this engages the box at 2nd and misses first.... I don't know if it affects 4th gear. I would think that the problem is under there somewhere. They may have used a feed pick up for the radio, that they shouldn't. I was just wondering if it goes better on FM or AM..... just kidding.... I don't think that it is major, but may take some sorting out. Good Luck -
My 500hp+ Stagea Doing Some Skids In Rwd Mode
Appealing replied to unique1's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hey Brad.... that's a little nicer.... I have nothing against you or your car, Let us all know when you are going to drag it..... I'll come to cheer you on, and take some video!!. You know what my point was, I really didn't expect it raise such a furore. I wasn't knocking your car, but couldn't see the reason why you wanted to show it off (to the world) in the dirt! Each to their own. It wasn't a personal attack..... I'm still happy with my (ordinary) 1/4 mile time, and I wouldn't dream of trying to improve it because (as you know) it's a very expensive excercise. I bought a family wagon that looked good was safe and was a bit of fun. That's really it. Sorry it touched such a raw nerve. -
Hey fuzzy, you should consider it, the postage isn't that bad.... might be way cheaper than trying to find one here or in Japan. Especially if you two swap! PS I like the NA grill too...I have the Dolphin..... it is one BIG hole..... and no badge fits!!

Awww Dale..... is that the best you can do?...... I clicked on the link because I thought that after spending so much money and time on a car that I was going to see something outstanding..... not something that me and my mates used to do 30 years ago in a 50hp Ford Anglia..... I just said it the way it is..... lame (for 500hp RWD)!! BTW Hoon has an "N" in it not a "T"! :laughing-smiley-014: If you post it up to the world..... expect all types of comments..... if you only want people to send you accolades.... then get a fan club! At least I have a 1/4 mile time.... haha And I don't pretend that my car is anything that it isn't..... I wouldn't call it a beast.... and beauty as they say is in the eyes of the beholder. But you chose to do the do-nuts and to post the video!! Oh and Don't hold back Brad....... say what you think..... isn't that what forums are for!! Yeah pity.... now maybe that could have been worth seeing....even better, go to Wanneroo and post a 58 sec full lap.... now that would impress. And you know Mitch.... if you don't like the open comments on here there is one thing for you too..... www.VR4.COM.au..... go and prove something among other Legnums, if you think that you can.... -

Appealing replied to unique1's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
hey Brad..... you don't need 500hp to do donuts on dirt...... in fact I don't think that there are too many real wheel cars that couldn't.... especially stagea's.... filling up the kit with all that sand and crap would stop me though. If you're gonna build a "tough" car.... and then brag about it, you could at least make a "tough" video!! Still it made me laugh!! :laughing-smiley-014: Sorry this isn't personal, I say it to anyone!! -
Is that what you call a retro-upgrade!! cheaper, maybe, safer, doubtful, easier.... also doubtful....... but I tell you what, it'll be great for the resale value... while you're at it, why not go the whole hog and take the 'auto out, the engine..... or just go and buy a S1.... that's the cheaper, safer, and easier option.... :laughing-smiley-014: Seriously I have a set of these re-bonded pads in my car and NO PROBLEMS....all you gotta do is send your worn pads to Chuckie, so that we can keep it going. Oh and it seems as though some of you haven't realised that this way you don't have to take you car off the road (for more than 1 hour). If you get them done yourself... you'll be looking at t about 4 days without your car.

Stagea Driver Training Day @ Ahg
Appealing replied to R DIRTY 3's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks Brad, I have already done the commodore Trackskill, (great day & worth every cent), and entered a No limits night event, which was very informing... I learnt lots... I went with about 4 instructors during the evening. Drove like crap at times, found the Stagea very heavy, amazing cornering though and great speed out of the corners. The car didn't miss a beat. I found that the seats (mine are leather) left a lot to be desired as did the brakes. So maybe you now understand why I was so keen to get the car into a skid so that I could explore the limit of traction and how to control it. I am keen to get Iolanda (my wife) having a go too. So as long as we can take it turns, (and you said that was ok earlier), then we're in. The car will be fitted with std tyres and wheels for this event, cause a new set of tyres gets fitted next week, and I don't want them to get torn up. So Count us in. -
Stagea Driver Training Day @ Ahg
Appealing replied to R DIRTY 3's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I am still keen to do this, BUT.... I am still not sure what form of event this even is..... It seems clear that we aren't going to use the track. It also seems clear that we aren't going to utilise the skidpan as a skid pan. So what are we going to use it for? I would like to get an idea of what we will be covering.... defensive driving, performance driving, skids how to get out of them, braking etc etc. Is part of the day in the classroom, if so how long? This is what I meant earlier by an agenda. I would like to be able to get more info so that I can make an informed decision of whether it is going to be of value. I asked in my last post for payment details to be PM'd to me..... didn't arive. Thanks
