  1. matt, when you stack these in photoshop how do you blend the layers? lighten/darken? also, maybe erase the background in all but one layer. can see where the camera shifted slightly between shots. damn good work tho, love your style. im still keen to try this style out one day, need to sort out a lightbox of some kind.
  2. sometimes its the only way, lol nice shot.
  3. gold!
  4. hell yeah dude, loven them shots
  5. ah cheers man. with the HDR's I just process them so they look ok to me and then cross my fingers and hope others like them. i guess i just try to use HDR to compensate for parts of a scene that get too bright or dark when the main subject is fine. i like this shot mostly. only CC i have is the front bumper is just a little overblown. maybe a little less power or a little further back? been so long since I played with speedlights. oh and i dunno about the wall at back being so bright, might be just me, but seeing as you get a little reflection on the windscreen and the floor isnt perfect white I think it allows for the background to have some texture in it. just my thoughts, what does everyone else think? nice. maybe just a (metric) smidge of light in the top centre of the bonnet near the edge of frame would give it a little more balance? overall heaps good still.
  6. love the angle of that shot woodsy. hows this for cool (or weird) bought a torch the other day and its model number is 19 and it also has a plastic disc that you have to remove before it will work. turns out its almost a perfect fit to use as a color filter for the torch itself. cant wait to test it out in a light painting soon.
  7. far out man, I think thats the same trucks that my mum drives at work. either that or the next size down. it makes me laugh tho, she is close to 5ft tall and driving some massive monster in a mine, lol. hahahaha, that light painting vid was epic!!!! i thought about having a go at something like that but got lazy when I realised just how long it would take.
  8. so, went for a little ride last night (2 1/2 hours, lol) to take some photos of the sunrise in the city. but this was the main reason i went in. been wanting to light paint this for a while. spewing i stuffed it up tho. its been too long, ive forgotten how fast i have to move lights, lol. will be going back to hit it up again as soon as i can. So for the rest of the morning I just walked around taking HDR's. adelaide can be an awesome looking city in the early hours.
  9. I wanted to start tagging around town but dont have any skills with a paintcan so I thought I'd do something different and hung some photos up around the city for people to check out. heres a couple...
  10. not sure exactly, lol. i guess a messenger control app. im working on bits and pieces every day. this is what I have so far, still sooooo much to do, specially for just one person. http://bike019.com/work/ it grabs addresses out a database and displays packages on a map indicating where they are going. its mainly just javascript too which is a spin out. not much php involved in this one.
  11. damn, all the jewellery makes my neck hurt just looking at it, lol. couple of shots of tonights sunset. really wish I had a better view of it. Want more sky, lol. been programming more than shooting. my last two photos of the day were of my screen >.<
  12. thats not too bad a shot Sidd, least you have the front wheels turned properly. Nothing worse than seeing car shots where the wheels are pointed at the camera (im guilty of this, lol) only thing I would have done different is a slightly lower shooting angle... and tell that dog to piss off out of frame
  13. I do need a set, but dont have much of a cashflow at the moment. lol. As for headrest shadow, ive done it before. Easiest way I can think of to avoid it is to drop all the seats back as low as possible and out of the way. Well, that or use more flashes?
  14. ah yep, can see the shadow from the headrest. didnt think of flash. probably because I dont have one so I've been using HDR to help balance lighting, lol.
  15. i love that interior shot of the sunroof man. HDR/Merge?
  16. Nah, not ditching anyone, lol. I'll still post in here.
  17. haha! love your candid shots Sidd. Started a blog to chuck my photos onto, so probably wont be spamming in here as often, lol. The blog is kind of like a front end to my photos website, but with photos posted together on the day they were taken. I also ramble on some crap about the photos, sometimes they have an interesting story, sometimes not, lol. Heres a couple of teasers... This was a HDR. I like that it can be used for the times when you need a fill flash but dont have one. Easy, just bang off three exposures and HDR it. Maybe. lol. Check out the rest at http://bike019.com/ EDIT: Matboy, that golf buggy pan is a classic! Nice work dude.
  18. went down some random fire escape in the city cause I didnt want to be a sardine in a lift full of people and found this so i took some LSD and had another look at it spotted this at the beach the other day. spun me out a bit, looks like a branch with the bark peeling off. took the GoPro into the beach with me. tried teaching my step son how to catch waves, but they werent all that big (as usual, lol) HDR of a random back laneway in Adelaide Love inset lighting and weird shaped ceilings in buildings. This almost looks like an evil face Finally got to have a quick look in this tunnel I had been keen on seeing. Every time I was in the area it was too wet, until today. Would have been nice to have a tripod with me but this didnt come out too bad for handheld I guess.
  19. awesome sunsets in the outback! nice job. cant wait to see the HDR's and Panoramas from that lot.
  20. i meant intentional camera movement. pretty much just moving the camera with the intent to make an abstract photo.
  21. Wow, awesome set of pics man! Love the abstract one, ICM?
  22. NA, it was a street art exhibition by a guy named 'buffdiss' (http://www.flickr.com/photos/buffdiss) and a couple other blokes. blew my mind when i saw it, and then i checked out his flickr and yeah, wont ever look at stickytape the same again, haha.
  23. dude, love your people shots man. i hate taking pics of people, i always feel uncomfortable and others usually pick up on that and get uncomfortable themselves. you can tell the confidence you have in your photos as the subjects reflect it back, well done. spotted this old banger in a back lane in town today, thought it would make a nice subject for a HDR got a few more HDR's to process, hope more of them came up ok. its something im trying to teach myself, and by teach i mean fiddling with settings until i think it looks ok, lol.
  24. cheers sidd. just the random things i see when out and about, lol. speaking of which... saw some random artworks at the central markets today. all made from masking tape. its hard to imagine the scale, but some of these were absolutely massive with the picture stretching past a whole row of stalls. i'll be merging some pics together later to show the scale of them (if it works out, lol) had to be heaps patient, waiting for people to move sucks. but somehow after a minute or two standing around looking weird people stop coming past and getting in the way, lol.
  25. random image for the day... we also have some weird features in our building foyers... 1
