i think a little more depth of field in the tacho shot (larger f number / smaller aperture) would be nice. added bonus of stopping down is the shutter speed required would be longer, as suggested by KLP, so the needle would drag more. win!

im loving the light trails in the background sweet shot!

nice car and nice photo! he did a good job. white balance is good (not too orange), the amount of lighting on the side of the car is almost perfect. however, the bonnet is a bit blown out. thats hard to avoid with carpark shots using available light. a second exposure with a stop or two less light could be blended in to this one to make it perfect. very crisp focus, spot on! framing could be improved slightly by lifting or lowering the camera a tad, but a quick crop can fix that. all in all a very nice shot, looking forward to seeing more. -
no probs, i was just explaining why it is what it is. i thought about cropping the shadow out of it, but it was there on the day so it can stay.
-
doesnt matter either which way. at the time i was there, there was no way to avoid it, lol

havent been taking many pics this month, but thought id share this shot that i like. was taken by someone who wishes to remain anonymous, lol
-
haha, yeah they dont like share bears about time they got onto you and you started making some proper coin from it all

i know the feeling. the two (graff) light painting pics i posted in here are the first ive taken in a couple of months too. started up again as someone was trying to copy the style I created so I had to go out and show them how its done, lol. was waiting for the warmer weather cause its hard to do when your freezing your ass off, haha
-
i like the second and last shots mitch, nice one. headed out into the darkness again...

loving the shots of your aquarium Sidd, looks awesome. its been a while since ive been out doing my photon vandal pics, so headed out last night. got a bit muddy, but might have been worth it.

Cheers man. I cant see why they would have a dig at your D90 tho, they are awesome cameras. Dude, that pic is worth fixing. Hence the CC to fire up some motivation for you to take your time with it. The way you frame rig shots is awesome, and the locations you find to do them are unreal. Keep it up, but dont be in a rush to share, they are worth the extra time and effort. I've got laziness covered, haha. This is my new scooter. Got a bit of glare on the rear disk, but you get that sometimes.

Matt, did you do some cloning on the top of the shed above the rear of the car? If not, thats a really wonky shed, lol. I've found that cloning repetative shapes like that can be hard to get right, but if I copy/paste a section and then use the transform tool to match perspective it matches up a lot smoother than cloning. I havent done it a lot tho, so probably beginners luck more than anything, lol. Although, looks like there is a slight pitch in that roofline which further complicates things. Tough gig. Awesome shot tho, so crisp and clear and I dont mind the spot-color in this one as its fairly subtle. Haven't taken many so far this month, starting to lose interest in photography again. My scooter is more entertaining, people dont like being beaten by a step-thru, haha. This is always a welcome sight tho... And a couple from the Mallala matsuri where the people with white lenses were laughing at me walking around with my compact, lol

it wouldnt need to move all that much i reckon, just the tiniest amount. although, ive not worked much with lights so it could be a fair bit for all i know, lol. anyway. took my G12 out to mallala today... its fair to say i had the most unsuitable camera trackside, haha. was funny seeing the looks as i walked past rockin my compact.

i think there might be a touch too much light on her hair. otherwise the lighting is pretty sweet. only other criticism is the black pants on the black background. a simple rim light to create an outline would be killer right there, helps stop the 'floating in the dark' look. im probably wrong tho, someone with more experience will have better CC (although, not seeing much in this thread even though it was supposed to be the cost of posting ) -- kory, love that first zombie shot! the cool colors worked out well. the second pic is not as strong IMO, i think the focus should have been on her as she is the one doing the biting whereas the dude is just someone getting bit. unless he is important in the storyline of the movie that was being made, in which case im totally wrong, lol. the other thing that makes me think she should be in focus is the fact that her eyes are the only ones that can be seen. -- So, got a new scooter (which i cant afford to register for a few weeks, lol. dolelyfe) and during its initial strip down I found this... i guess this bike was always destined to end up in my hands

nice one wilorichie. i reckon that shot would stand out well with a square crop, what do you think... (sorry for the edit, no offence intended. i just wanted to show what it would look like) J34, not too bad dude. i guess moving back just a little would help not clip the rear. shooting on a sunny day can be tough due to reflections and shadows. i like the framing! could also look rad with a little less sky, like just above the tree in the middle there.

to work out if its the camera or lenses a store or friend with a d90 would be handy. then you can compare bodies and lenses and try to work out if there is a hardware failure or not
-
you'll definitely get box with that awesome shot Matt. its funny how they claim the camera is 'unkown' yet exif reveals its a nikon. no conspiracy
