  1. Hi Guys, I need a new headlight switch for my R32 GTR. I have the rather common problem of the left headlight not working. Parkers work but neither low or high beams come on. The mechanic has done his best to fix the wiring and it worked for a couple of days but has stopped again and he told me the headlight switch needs to be replaced. I rang up nissan parts and they quoted me $275 for a new one. I've seen prices quoted on here at around $200 so I'm not sure if that's places in Brisbane or not. I would like to try and get one (preferably new) from somewhere else if it's any cheaper, anyone knows where I could get one from? I might try some wreckers but I'm afraid of ending up with a 2nd hand switch that's no better than the one I got. Cheers
  2. Thanks for the info guys, puts me a little more at ease. I'll check out info on turbo timers. At the moment before I park the car I don't boost it for 5 mins before I park it so as not to park it on overly hot turbos. Looks like I need to get under my car more often and try and find those BOV's. It's just that the last car I had an RB20DET motor and it had a noisy BOV visible in the engine bay. Thanks again for the help.
  3. Hi Guys, After reading around the forums and trying to search (for some reason it gives an error) about BOV(s) and becoming more confused than ever I have to ask this question. I have a fairly stock R32 GTR, it has aftermarket air filters as the only mod to the engine. After recently taking my car to a mechanic and discussing future turbo upgrade options I asked if getting a BOV or BOV(s) would prolong the life of the stock turbos on there. From other people I have heard that it would, and from the mechanic he told me the opposite saying I would be wasting my money. I'm looking at getting a turbo timer soon. I basically want to keep the GTR stock for about another year and then have enough money saved up to upgrade. What I don't want to have happen is the stock ceramic ones fall apart before then because I didn't have a BOV. Cheers Burgerman
  4. I'm going to assume that i have a OS giken twin clutch plate too. I recently bought an R32 GTR skyline and was told it has a twin clutch plate. Having never driven a car with a twin clutch plate I didn't think much of it. I did notice and still notice now every time I put my foot on the clutch I get a rattle sound. It sounds like rattling light metal though cause it sounds very metallic almost like a series of bells going off. When it starts to catch though the rattling goes away. What I do find annoying though is if I draw the clutch back slowly when taking off no matter what rev I'm at it kind of "judders"? it doesn't slip but it catches and release, catches and releases so you get jerked about a bit and you can keep it up for a couple of seconds or lately I just pull the clutch all the way out and take off. It's not so much of a problem at the lights but it is when going over speed bumps when you ride the clutch a bit.......well I do anyway. Other than that rattle sound which is annoying it's pretty good. I tested by putting it in 4th gear at 60 km/hr and flooring it and it didn't slip one bit. Are there any alternatives to get a different clutch that doesn't rattle but still has the benefits of a twin clutch plate? what's a brass button clutch plate like? any others?
