  1. Thanks for that. How do you personally bleed your cooling systems? Also how do I tell if its running lean? I have consult and ecu talk running. Stock Temp gauge says halfway but ecutalk says 95deg c. Could it simply be the sensor that is throwing incorrect values?
  2. Hi guys, i have an issue at the moment with my brothers Nissan. I changed his water pump and thermostat with genuine Nissan items and did his fanbelts. Pressure tested his radiator and that seemed to have no leaks. i thoroughly flushed his cooling system at least 4 or 5 times since changing those items. i got the engine to operating temp and then dumped the coolant from radiator drain plug. waited til engined cooled and topped up with coolant. got engine back to operating temp and repeated process. Now the issues is that while in traffic (even standstill peak hour) the temp doesnt go over halfway. Once out on the open road doing 100km/h it seems the engine temperature keeps climbing up to 2/3rds or 3/4s and he has to pull over. What could be the issue? The coolant reservoir is cold and has coolant in it, he turned the heater on max heat and that seems to have kept the temp down so he can drive home but i want to know what issues there could be?
  3. Hahahaha Thanks for the advice. Ill do continuity checks, im sure thats probably the issue. As for peoples wiring jobs i know what you mean. I have seen some wiring that just makes you want to put the panels/trim back on and walk away. LOL
  4. Thanks, I'll rip it all out and check the wiring for loose bits. Is there any way to check the balasts? or check for breaks in wires??
  5. Hi, I have a S1 260RS Stagea and have Xenons in the car. They are Xenons/HID for both highbeam and normal beams. Im not sure if they are a genuine Nissan item or after market. How do i tell? The issue is; i turn my headlights on and while im driving even over bumps and railway tracks etc the headlights stay on and solid even though i have lowered suspension. However when i hit the brakes and the front end dips the drivers side head light starts to flicker and sometimes turns off. The harder i brake the greater the chance the light turns off. Also, it seems that once the headlights have been on for some time the light seems to resist the braking action more. So i have to brake harder to get the light to turn off but it still flickers under light braking. When the lights are cold even the slightest braking action manages to turn it off. Any ideas on what is causing this? it drives me nuts

  7. Sorry to hijack. I have a F-Con Gold that came out from an R34 GTT and i am wondering if it would be suited to the Series 1 260RS ECU?
  8. Sorry to hijack, but i have a 260rs (R33 GTR) stagea and it has twin atmo BOV, stock ECU, aftermarket boost controller, SAFC, turbo back exhaust system and everything else is stock. The SAFC is set to default settings (no adjustments have been made, just in read mode). And i get heaps of soot on my tailgate, a bugger to clean. Anyway i am wondering where the stock BOV is located, and also where the plumb back hoses/s are and go. I have an R33 GTS-T and that is very different in its setup.
  9. Awesome much appreciated. i thought as much about the tv tuner but i couldnt find anything to tell me otherwise. Does it have to be a Clarion unit? or any tv tuner? Thanks heaps for the info it all makes much more sense now
  10. I cam across a thread that had some diagrams of the antennas. It was a thread from a couple of years ago about installing azuka tv tuners or something. unfortunately the diagrams are in japansese so other than the pics themselves i dont understand any of the other stuff. Good thing i downloaded them.
  11. Hi All, another question about my stagea. i am not sure what stereo options were available in japan for the 260RS when it was sold. I found a massive bundle of wires that started behind the stereo and ran all the way to the boot of the stagea and ended tucked into the left side of the car (LHS rear wheel area). connected to nothing at either end, but it seems there was a cd stacker behind the left boot trim, now just empty space. When it arrived here it had been decked out with aftermarket system, AddZest (Clarion). It had the DVD Head unit with slideout screen and hideaway box/receiver, 5.1 surround component and TV Tuner. I have managed to get most things working fine however 2 things are left that are bugging me. The radio tuner's range is not expanded and i wanted to know what i have to do to expand it to tune all australian radio stations. Also, how do i receive TV signals/channels in australia (melbourne). Does it have anything to do with the FM expander? or is it something else entirely? Can anyone help me understand what is required to get the TV Tuner (Addzest/Clarion) box to display. All i get is static when i try to find a signal.

  13. Hi All, I am wondering if anyone has the demister lines working in the rear cabin area. So NOT the rear tailgate window (that works fine) but the side windows in the boot compartment of the stagea. i have a C34 260rs S1 and i can see the lines are plugged in but am not sure if has a separate switch to turn them on or whether they are tied in together to the rear tailgate. i dont really want to tear the car apart to find out that there was a switch to turn them on. LOL Any help??

  19. Exactlky the same issue with my R33. Drove fine cold but when it was nice and warm, approx same place and same time frame (depending if i was in a hurry or not LOL) the car would start stalling. New CAS, no problems
  20. i fly back into Melbourne real early on that day from NZ so depending on start time we may be able to come for a lovely day cruise with the family.

  22. Nah i dont have problems with my pipes coming off, but some of the clamps are twisting and looking a little worse for wear. They still hold really well but i'd like to know where i can get some replacements, just cos i like having things immac. :-D That silver M35 was real mint, clean and just real pretty. My 260Rs exhaust through the bar was part of the package. I bought the car like that, you just cant stand too close to it cos they stick out so far that you'll burn your shin on it. LOL I fell in love with the kit the moment i saw it. :-P I absolutley love the rims and the ride height on your car, even the sparks out the ass end when you bottomed out was great to see. LOL Its a shame i missed out on getting some nice pics of it.
