I have a feeling you are probably right with coil packs?? I've never changed them since ive had car (5 Years) Car made really good power considering the little mods (i couldnt believe the dyno sheet). I had the plugs done a few years ago and used irridiums. Say it is the coil packs (cos i dont know what else it could be!) is there any harm leaving it like this? Specially considering i rarely need to drive it that hard. Thanks!!!!!

sorry just realised i gave no info on mods!! car is actually pretty stock. Stock ECU Stock Coil packs Only mods are turbo back exhaust pod GCG turbo + boost that the guys could reliably tune to.

Hi guys. Ive just got my car back from the shop where they installed a gcg high flow and did a tune. The car runs amazing, with only one minor problem. When under heavy boost it sometimes has a misfire (hard to explain, but feesl like a short loss of power. bit like a stutter. This only happesn sometimes and usually when im in boosting hard in 3rd or 4th (around the 400rpm). I guess it feels like a minor electrical problem (not that im qualified to know!) I've done some reading but basically so many things to check I dont know where to start. Anyone have any ideas before i take it back to shop? thanks

Questionable Behaviour By Brant Alarm System
MAS_R33 replied to william1's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Give Brant a call an have a chat. He will try and get you to bring the car into sydney or outskirts but I found that they were pretty helpful and was able to resolve my issues over phone. -
OK reckon im pretty sorted on a GCG hi-flow. Any chance anyone got something to sell!!!! Can't handle the thought of car off the road whilst turbo being taken off, sent up and returned.

thanks all

Has anyone had any experience on these turbos? http://stores.ebay.com.au/Performance-Car-Parts-Australia/Turbos-/_i.html?_nkw=kkr&_fsub=304069017

Hi, I'm pretty sure that the turbo on my r33gtst s2 has just let go. Waiting to confirm with the shop but no boost and lots of noise from turbo. Doesnt look good :-( Anyone have anything local for sale? Anyone know a local place to get the turbo Hi flowed? I asked one mob and they said it cant be done as it has ceramic (I thought the whole point was to replace with steel!!)/ Lastly, If I do go a larger turbo any thoughts on setup? I been reading a bit on the forced induction forums but too many options for me. My car is relatively stock with Dump pipe,Turbo back exhaust, etc. Has recently had a h/duty nismo clutch put in it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

thanks for all your help guys. yep turbotech is now installed. Talk about a pain in the @ss to try and get right. I can get it to sit nicely on 9psi or mostly 10 with the occassional maxing out at 11. reckon this is safe for a car that is relatively stock other than exhaust, dump pipe and pod? thanks!!

hi all, thanks for the advice... I followed it and just installed a digital boost gauge. Had a few questions which i thought id raise here before starting a new topic!! a) i tapped the new boost gauage into the line where the standard boost gauge is. This OK? I'm readying about -10 at idle and when boosting im hitting about 6 or 7 (which i spose is correct for stock!!)?? b) I havent installed the manual boost controller yet - wanted to make sure i understood how i tune it. Is it a matter of installing, adjusting and then taking it for a drive and seeing where the boost max is at? I'm wanting to run it at 10 or so psi so i slowly adjust it till i get ot the 10?? Is it sensible to do this without a dyno? or have i got it completely wrong? thanks in advance

thanks trident. Followed your instructions and it was easy!!

Hi All, Im looking at installing some bits and pieces and need to run some cables through the firewall on a r33gts s2. Thought before i try and work out where was best (and easiest!!) id try and get some advice. Prefer somewhere where already have hole - had a quick look and didnt see anywhere too obvious. Any advice, pics, etc woule be appreciated!

thanks.... i think

Hi All, I've got a R33 running stock boost. I've got hold of a manual boost controller and wanted to run it at 10 psi or so (just to see how it is and whether it is worth investing in a electronic boost controller). My only issue is I only have the stock boost guage - not really wanting to invest in a boost guage as would be a waist if i went with a EBC. Everything I've read says that the stock boost guage is far too inaccurate to get a decent idea and im more likely to overboost and cause problems!! any thoughts? Is it worth doing it with the stock boost guage and guessing?

Hi Guys, I've had my s2 R33 for a while now and in the last few months I've noticed that the central locking seems to be playing up a bit. I should mention that it has an alarm and is normally operated by remote. In short normally I can lock + arm the car then unlock + disarm car with button push. Lately I find that somtimes the car fails to lock/unlock (but still arms or disarms ok). When it does fail to lock/unlock i can sometimes hear the mechanism moving and other times not!! Not sure where to start with this. Any ideas? I've got to the smart locking unit but wonder whether it would be an issue? or how to test it!? possibly a relay or something?? when the car fails to lock/unlock i can successfully lock/unlock both doors from the drivers side key. Any tips, suggestions or ideas would be appreciated!!!
