  1. is this the only way to stopp the stallin on a car with a AFM and a a/m venting bov??(besides different ecu)
  2. yeh for the $$$ it would take to do it id rather get the front and rear gaurds pumped and get the door handles shaven, i just cant c a r33(or any skyline) with these doors, it wouldnt suit.
  3. i hear alot of talk bout people buying cheap stuff(clothes, shoes, wallets, etc) off ebay from the us but i was wondering if it would hav cheap car parts too. im knew to the ebay scene so a few things id like to know are can u buy things brand new off there or is it just 2nd hand stuff, is it worth using the australian ebay site or not? and lastly will i save in buying (brand new) car parts/mods off ebay or should i just go with greenline or nengun? anything else i should know?
  4. im glad this thread came up as im looking to import my parts thru either greenline or nengun(although im leaning towards nengun due to cheaper pricing). couple of questions though, is it worth it? i mean afta tax and frieght is it still cheaper then buying it here(exhausts, koola, comp etc) and with the advertised prices, due they include the tax+customs+frieght?? coz it seems too good to be tru?also how hard is it to declare as a gift/or get it past customs with paying minimal tax(just out of curiousity of course, wouldnt dream of robbing the govt of $$$ )
  5. ive heard the jap brands are VERY expensive like 2K for a FULL apexi/trust system(dump/front/hiflo cat,3inch piping, hiflo muffler) is it tru?
  6. hmmmm i dunno wat to say....
  7. yeh the heat that comes off it is bad, id even go as far as to put a heat bag ova it and HPC the manifolds+dump/front pipe, i cant stand underbonnet temps
  8. i always wanted a rx3 or ta22 celica for my first car, cheap, rwd, 2 door, tuff looking, but then i knew i was gonna work it and spend well ova 20K on top at the minimum, and things like no p/s, electrics, no AC changed my mind, so i bought my s14a and began modding that, it depends wat u like, but if u dont wanna car thats too fast but still fun, NA silvia
  9. head gasket would b needed to lower compression in order to run more boost, cams would be good becoz they would also give u more power,u would also need a z32 AFM to deal with the increased air intake, is your clutch up to the power? i think ur going to need a after market manifold too. but i think for reliabilities sake, in the long run u would need at least a set of turbo pistons and conrods
  10. i like the bomex skirts and rear bar but the front has to go....
  11. hmm perfect project car.... if u were in melb i would hav been interested... good luk with the sale though
  12. i neva wanted to see a thread like this, especially with a gtr...i hav to say as i always defend p platers(like me) driving hi-po cars if they are responsible. being 18 and driving the car i drive i always cop looks when my dads friends c wat car i drive
  13. MINES i feel for u, i was the passenger in a similar car acciident(wasnt my car), we didnt even see it comming, was a smooth corner front moved out, clipped gutter, spun round, was stopped by a tree at 60ks, thank God the tree stopped us. car was write off, no one hurt. i was in shock and pissed off for about a week, saying i would neva drive my car again but i got ova it. all u people who say leave it for the track, well i doubt theeir would b any of yous who hav neva been wreckless while driving, that includes drifting, chirping, burnouts. glad your ok and no one was hurt man
  14. i think all 4 go for around 4K for the 18inch ones. sexy rims though, them and the 350Z rims...dam
  15. ok i think alot of people would like to know the current state of importing in aus in 2004(not the 15yr rule), im talking about r33s, supras, soarers wateva, because a few people i know seem to believe that suddenly supra TTs 94-95 go for 6-7grand landed and complied which to me sounds like BS. i know they hav to be stock on complaince and the mods hav to be destroyed, i also know that no aus delivered vehilce can be imported, i also thought the importing of cars under 15 yrs old was stopped till the new scheme/new complaince plates/workshops were available, it just pisses me off when people say they can get 30K cars for 5-6K, even unda the old scheme they were not this cheap, otha then that does anyone know when importation of under 15yrs will begin, or are comp plates available for some of these cars already
  16. hmm 17k prob wont get u a series 2, 19-20K will though, it will get u an r33 thats for sure, also i find carpoint to hav inflated prices and alot of car yards advertising, dont buy from car yard as they run to make a profit, and thats it
  17. r34 GTR rims r the sex of the stock nissan range, the vySS rims to the vl turbo, if u wana put it that way, but they r ***en expensive, i hear around 3500 delivered?
  18. 100mm of the lowest hanging point of ur car(meaning skirts, xzorst, etc), depending on ur state i 'heard' people got done for how low the diff is compared to the axel(or something like that), can anyone elaborate on it, dont think the cops will pik on the diff thing though
  19. i bet u if the car involved was a 1.5L lancer, there would not b such a fuss, then it would b the driver and not the car, if its a hi-po car its the cars fault and suddendly laws are changed and media frenzies occur, if its a underpowered vehicle then that detail goes unnoticed. in vic we hav a power to weight ratio limiting a p plater(like me) driving a car with more then 125kw @ the wheels(measuered by factory weight and kw at the fly, meaning u cant fill the boot wif lead and drive it legally), there are heaps of r33 turbos, r34s, 200sx's,v8s, even TT supras on their Ps in vic, i own a s14a and while it doesnt break the power/weight law (i think) i dont think a power to weight law in NSW would b effective nor would it b enforced(as it isnt here).media just uses fast imports as a scapegoat,
  20. any car before 1996 CANNOT be imported in NZ as they did not pass the NZ frontal impact laws, before i heard of this i thought NZ was the perfect place to import and do up a car, but it seems like they are following our route and limiting comsumer choice, they also introduced a new DB law for exhausts(81db i think it was) and are cracking down on ride ride etc...seems like the only dream place for owing and doing up a import to ur liking is japan.....
  21. i rang just cars for a series 2 r33 turbo and was quoted 4k, rang for a s14a 98 model and was quoted 5k+. im on my Ps too. so its not always the imported car that is more $$ to insure....
  22. i heard rx8s do a flat 14 1/4 mile, fair bit of room for improvemnt and u wouldnt hav to turbo it to get power(bridgeport, filter, exhaust, etc) NA rotories can reach well ova 250RWKW. not a bad car but really needs a viscious kit on it, killer stock mags though(18inch).
  23. i say leave the flutter noise for the vls, from wat i know, even if the 'flutter' noise does not damage the turbo(which has yet to b proven), it WILL induce MORE lag than wat the car had wif the factory BOV. it will be especially noticeable will coming on boost and on gear changes, thats y cars hav BOVs to reduce turbo lag, now if u wanna sacrifice that for a pigeon like noise(i dont c why it is so popular) than thats up to u, but i for one prefer a solid pssshhhh.
  24. franks but u campared the stock airbox to an exposed pod in the engine bay tru? im sure a high quality oiled pod in airtight heat proof box wif a phat CAI would give more gains then both options, ive heard of people netting 10kw@ the wheels wif a custom box setup but i havent seen any proof
