actually if the cas is set correctly then the timing would display exactly what the ecu is commanding. Dude fix you vct, very simple. It's a good chance why your consumption is bad. 0-1050rpm it's off 1050-4500rpm it's on 4500-6900rpm it's off

I don't know about numbers but I can tell you it's built incredibly well!

Camshafts are $1500 for the pair. Still tuning the car and experimention with cam gear timing now... It's fun doing all these experiments!

ok these cams are awesome! they are not even tuned and the cars goes sooo much harder! i am at 0.5 bar by 2500rpm and 1bar by 3000rpm. pulls so hard and gernally feels far smoother. i am going to try advancing the intake cam a little 2-3 deg just to see if this will help with the lack of NVCS. the idle just sounds meaty and i love it! will have to spend some time tuning now! All in All HKS Cams are the way to go....

So i now have a 264deg intake with 9mm lift and the same for the exhaust! should be interesting... will keep you all posted... one thing though HKS cams are much better made than Tomei. Heavier and thicker overall...just feel stronger.

Well I ordered the HKS ones. Heaps more money but I think it'll be worth it. One thing though I am not sure if they support nvcs?! The hks website seems to indicate they do, but performance wholesale say they don't....hmmm I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Boost will be no more than 1.2bar but more likely 1bar.

So on to what to order tomorrow morning... Hks cams or tomei poncams??? or should I try Procams 260 with 8.8mm lift?!? What happens if I don't upgrade to new vale springs?

Ah yes well you see here lies a small thing... I did snap the exhaust cam. But in my fustration and anger for being so stupid I just threw it all out and in doing so dropped the intake cam and damaged it.

Sorry I meant I do want to keep vct. I snapped a set of tomie poncams.

OK, so firstly....when fitting cam shafts into your engine...be sure to tighten the bolts holding the bearing clamp over the cam lobes that are having to push down on the valves first!!! you do this to avoide snapping the camshaft like i just did! and these were Tomie Camshafts that i just purchased second hand for a very good deal. this was a very expensive $500 lesson i just learned! anyway life goes on and i must not let my anger consume me anymore.... so time for more cam shafts! i will be buying these on monday or tuesday and as a result i now have a new choice.... Just Jap are the only place i know that has the Tomie cams instock and they are $1200. i know a place i can get the HKS stage 1 cams for my RB25 for $1500 for the pair. so given now that there is only a $300 difference...should i get the HKS ones for the Topmie ones??? Points to consider: i am running a HKS GTRS turbo with Plazmaman Plenum and HPI Ex Manifold and 3" Kaikimoto Exhaust and HKS Dump (power FC for computer and all other normal supporting mods, IC, Inj, AFM, etc) Car is driving 90% on the street to work everyday. it sees track time approximatly once a month.
