  1. anyone know the part number for the idler/tensioner pulley's for the V35? ..is it generally a good idea to replace these when doing the belts?
  2. yea, if its waterlogged doubt that the car will start at all. I suggest taking Chris's advice and take out your MAF ...clean it with some contact cleaner and let it dry.
  3. any ideas what type bulbs are required for the reverse lights? thinking of replacing these with LEDs
  4. sorry guys...i know it sounds lame...but i really like to keep my car in immac cond. sound proofing ....the RAC guy said it prolly was rust guard and since i work at the beach didnt want the undercarriage rusting. anyway thanks for the advice Paul I'll go to repcos 2morrow and get the stuff.
  5. big boo boo happend to my car today ( ...am devastated. was going down a basement carpark ramp and scraped slightly on the undercarriage. then on the way out ...i attempted the same ramp at an angle...got stuck and the rear wheels started to spin and I could hear this god awful scrape and thud. being the idiot i am..managed to get the car in reverse and attempted the ramp again ....same deal...even tried it with some drain grills which i removed and made a platform to jack the rear a bit...car was too heavy and the steel grills didnt hold. anyway short story....i scraped my undercarriage and the tar like stuff was scraped exposing some bare metal...also bent the metal cover on the cat. thankfully it didnt dent the chassis or any other body parts my q is.....what is that tar like stuff on the chassis and where can i get some??? is it sold in a spray can or can i brush apply the stuff?? am really worried that the metal might rust if i leave it exposed too long.
  6. or drive at 180km/h ...it could just be engine resonance so driving faster should smoothen the shakes
  7. did u end up buying HID headlights or are u fitting a HID kit on the stock reflector housing? plz do post pics up coz I'm keen on buying a set of HID...5600 or 6000k but unsure if they'll blind oncoming
  8. try a wheel balance first....out of alignment usually causes the car to pull left or right but doesn't cause it to shake. u may have a bent wheel without realising it
  9. hey Richard, would those LED's you have be considered as fog lights?? ..is it legal to have them on with your driving lights at night?
  10. thats the exact one I have. 400CCA will give you plenty of juice to start the car, only downside is that you will have to loose the red plastic cover on the +ve lead as there's little room to connect the ring clamp to the smaller post
  11. did u end up getting the front lip michael?? if you dont mind, can you pm me the link to g35driver where you got the quote?
  12. ouch...sorry to hear man. I hate those speeding roos as well
  13. I'm running century NS60LS ...last I checked the NS40 didn't have the same capacity CCA. and if you have the same connectors as mine, then you'll also need to get the battery with 2 smaller terminal heads coz u can't clamp on to the standard sized ones
  14. I've heard cleaning the sparkplug well and then running some high temp silicone with your fingers along the side works to cover any minor cracks in the seals as well.
  15. they usually wear out about 40000 -50000km
  16. +1 ^ ..search through the WA cruise thread ...both xtc and my car are lowered on kings. Ride quality is good, but you will definately need a rear camber kit (or fork out new set of tyres every 15000km) I've tried a variety of lowered springs...H&R, Tein, Eibach... and anyone that says that kings will blow ur shocks quicker than the other brands are talking out of their a$$ if ur shocks are on their way out...even the most expensive lowering springs will kill them faster, so always make sure that ur shockies are up to it before lowering.
  17. +1^ 2000rpm is way high ...do the pcv thingy and also check for air hose leaks
  18. think bout 9 v's and zeds .. a 32gtr, wrx and an evo 8 at the meetpoint.
  19. was a good cruise. Thanks again Richard for organising the whole thing and the bbq. hope someone will post pics up soon ...ones I took from my crappy iphone were too distant and blurred.
  20. i use meguiars nxt car wash on my car and always with just a garden hose blasting high pressure water or foam can cause scratches to your car's paintwork
  21. stick with spirits and have plenty of greasy food...you'll be aight. car needs a good wash and battery is acting a bit dodgy....but wont drive the car tonight so should still be able to make it at this stage
  22. saw these wheels on ebay. did the sale fall through?
  23. still doing the stop for BBQ?
  24. been using BP ultimate for the last 3 tankfulls and milage has increase from 8.4km/ltr now to 8.8km/ltr ....really impressed that a simple fuel change can give better milage....then again BP is normally 5-10cents higher than any other fuel with the same RON ratings
  25. 8.7km / ltr to 8.4km/ltr - Zero engine mods
