Just sold my Stag today never thought I'd be so heartbroken to see a car go.
Just glad that its another SAU member...least I know its in good hands.
Really dissappointed to miss out on another cruise tho

**sorry bout the double posting...forgot to attach the pics the first time*
they were a couple of SITC on ebay couple of months ago for USD199 ...suppose they're all sold now. I've just bought a brand new sitc for $320 delivered from Japan which i reckon is a good price as they cost about USD50 to ship on ebay anyway.
You may want to do the exhaust first and hold out on the SAFC/SITC as there's been interest in the Greddy Emanage ultimate on these forums. The Emanage retails around $800 which gives u the ability to adjust both fuel and ignition and has datalogging capabilities. Would be worth to see what the reviews are on this.
Hey kermit,
can you do custom IC pipings as well...coz im thinking of a china cooler core but want to route the pipes back to the standard holes under the airbox? ..if so, could u pm me a ballpark on how much this is gonna cost?
Cheers
used endless on my previous car...like yokotas said....rims can get quite dirty in between washes.
currently using bendix...almost no brake dust...bites well when cold....absolute crap when hot
thats strange..i mean how could they possible tell the condition of the electrics just by testing...i mean you can say if they were working...but surely without some diagnostic plug in..u couldnt tell if an electrical component was on its way out.
i really dont mind them doing a rac inspection..in fact given the reverse...i would do the same...but i certainly dont want them holding my car for 3 days to do an inspection....what a pain.
need some advise from those in the know.
I'm looking to sell my stag and the bloke who's interested wants to have it RAC inspected.
my car hasn't given me any problems at all since i've owned i dont doubt that it'll pass any mechanical check...my worry is that it has an aftermarket boost controller and safc fitted...will these show as a defect in the check?? Does the RAC check for mechanical soundness or does it also run a compliance sort of check in the vehicle? ..would hate to have to return everything back to stock only to have the buyer pull out.
cheers
judging by what Ian is saying...seems odd that the coilpacks will act up at 5000rpm and then stabilise again above that...i would think that it would get progressively worse as the rpm climbs and the boost builds up??
but i would definately try the new plugs and silicone...even if it isnt the problem....doesnt hurt to have done the job...after all its only a matter of time before the coil packs act up.
as for the dip at 4000-5000rpm...was told by a tuner that this is a common problem in rb engines and that a safc with decent tune will do the trick
i have a set of OZ racing rims which are on shipment from japan...rims are 17 x 9 with skyline/stagea pcd ...but not sure what the exact offsets are ...will know more when they get here in approx 4 - 5 weeks.
You can have them for $800 as is ...coz it has slight rim rash which i intended to have machined smooth.
u prolly need new tyres though.
i've had a galant vr4 engine with a gsr 4wd gearbox fit in a lancer before which in fwd mode.....mechanics had to weld something in the tranny to stop the rear from spinning....did you have to do the same when going rwd?
if you're looking for something thats frugal on fuel.....then i agree with u...don't buy a stagea
u could prolly get like 1000k's per tank in something like a toyota prius...if u can live with driving a deadbeat ugly car.
i have the same thing happening on my car....when turning the steering and stomping on the gas...car shudders and i have to release the gas a bit then floor it again to make the shudder go away....happend occasionally on steep hills too..but other than that gearshifts is silky smooth
cool...thanks grant.
mate has a set of eurolines ..18*9 and 18*10 ..both with +35 offset...i'll try them for fit this weekend....oh and tyres are 235 at the rear too...really stretchhhhhed
i've got a set of rims that measure 18 * 9.5 +32 on the way with 265/40 18's ..will tell you if they wayy too big when i get the wheels and fit them on.
wont be able to make this cruise ...am waiting on a new set of wheels from Japan...and trying desperately to stretch the life of the existing tyres.
devastated that i'll miss out on all the fun.
