  1. Bought this F-Con iS from a someone on the 350z-tech forum and was planning to have it installed on my V35 skyline. Have Since sold the car and bought an Evo X instead and so my modification plans have changed as the fuel maps of the stock Evo ECU can be tuned without the need of a piggy back. As I've never installed it, can't verify how good this runs, but from visual appearance it looks in really good condition. According to the HKS website, This piggy back is capable of correcting fuel and ignition timing, has built in FCD and SLD and also works with newer nissans with the NVCS control Now the bad: one of loops on the metal mounting bracket is broken. As you can see from the detailed pictures the ECU housing itself is in no way affected and I'm sure it can be mounted securely with the existing 3 points. Also you will need to purchase the harness for the vehicle that you plan to use it on. I am selling the ECU only. You can contact your nearest HKS dealer and they should be able to get the harness without any problems Price is $200 + shipping (local Perth buyers for COD preferred)
  2. Well the evo x isnt too far different from a vrx lancer to the untrained eye
  3. Settled on an evo x , after contemplating all the comments and feedback just went with my first choice and honestly i think its the best choice. Good balance between power, handling, looks and practicality
  4. i do miss it.... in fact the buyer dropped me off back at the office and when I saw him drive away with the car, kinda wished i had kept it new car is a blast to drive but... it is stock standard at the moment, but it's the best way to start the road to modifications ( to steal the words of smirnoff ...purity of a blank canvas)
  5. too hard to tell coz pics arn't that clear. but to hazard a guess I'd go with work gnosis gs1 painted or powder coated matt black.
  6. the dude had it checked by Cypher on Friday and paid a deposit. So just waiting on his personal cheque to clear....pretty much sold really. I've narrowed my choices down to 2008/09 Evo X - Pros: Demo with 5+5yr manufacturer warranty/tc-sst wife friendly/good handling & power Cons: cheap interior/radio & air con controls carry over from early 2000 era/unknown maintenance costs 2008 Subaru Sti Spec R - Pros: more power than Evo X/Nice Interior/Good resale value Cons: looks like a mazda 3/higher insurance/wife doesn't like the manual/2nd hand and no warranty/ did i mention the looks? 2009 Golf R32 Dsg - Pros: Nice rimtuck/hellaflush potential, decent power, best interior of the 3 Cons: still a golf/ golf gti seems to handle better and more responsive?? (based on test drives)/ 2nd hand with higher km's than the other 2 above/ looks a bit ghey
  7. V series sedans hv never really appealed to me. Nice cars and good vip potential, but just not my liking. Will test drive a 330 bimmer and sti too for comparison
  8. LOL guess i expected the response from skyline owners and i do agree with all your comments. Im probably making a stupid move considering i would prob never track the car. Would love a r34 gtr but cant get secured finance for it. Maybe someday in future when i've saved enough spare change. The evo checks most of the right boxes being 4 dr and auto so potentially if the family car is in a wshop the missues could still drive it Am more concerned about the quality and reliability issues
  9. as topic states, I've had my car advertised for sale for about 3 weeks now and have a somewhat serious buyer who's keen, pending a mechanical inspection this friday. Reason I'm selling is coz i want to get an Evo X, don't even ask me to explain why.. ..im still trying to figure that one out, but to me the evo is similar to owning a r34gtr....u just have to get it out of ur system and move on in life (sounds pretty pathetic to most, but those who are in the same frame of mind will understand) anyway i test drove 2 today....first one was a 2008 demo with 7k ...engine felt tinny and harsh like it was on solid steel mounts, slight turbo lag and very linear turbo push. very dissappointing. 2nd was 2009 demo with 17k, didn't even bother driving out of the car yard....idle was erratic and jumped between 800 - 1200 rpm ...dealer tried to convince me that these cars were seldom driven and would get better with regular driving ??? does anyone have experience with these cars? are they reliable and have I just been unlucky to have tested the only 2 duds in Perth?? the V35 despite being an older car, is much more refined and 100% better build quality imho. sigh*** if only the 2008 hatch sti's weren't as ugly.
  10. having looked at so many other cars before buying the V ...and even now when I'm selling mine ...you'll be impressed with the build quality of these cars. just beware of imports that have too few kms ..a car from japan should have around 10-12k per year coz they dont travel far but anything less then be wary...also if you can, ask to view the auction papers. grade 4 and 4.5 generally do have low kms
  11. can imagine your gonna have trouble getting any decent baby seat to fit rearward facing. Mine just about sits snug foward facing, but these cars just not built with the family man in mind.
  12. what sort of rims do you like? 3,5 or multispoke? one piece forged or 2/3 piece dished? I'm contemplating getting a different set of wheels, so if the wheels on my car are to your liking, just throw me an offer. size is19 x 9 & 10 +25 f/r Work sc2
  13. has anyone got a quote for what they requested??
  14. work sc2, nice. I've got the same wheels on my OB v35 but in 19 found a link to a pic My link
  15. doesnt excite me
  16. most car yards that import these vehicles should have the auction sheet for inspection. It's when the car is resold or traded in, then it's a bit harder to trace it back
  17. simple rule. don't go on ebay to buy a car.
  18. haven't bought it yet, but looks like summitracing has got good deals.
  19. hi all, I'm contemplating on upgrading the 5AT transmission in my 2004 V35 skyline with a transgo shift kit from the US. Not keen on DIY'ing this myself coz I'm not handy with a spanner. If anyone has done this upgrade before, really appreciate your help in recommending me a good auto transmission service center here in Perth who can do the job. Preferably NOR, but I'm happy to drive anywhere in Perth if it means that I get a good mechanic to do the job once. Sorry if this is a double post coz I can't find the post that I started earlier. thanks in advance.
  20. I want to upgrade the 5AT transmission on my 2004 V35 skyline with a transgo valve body kit. Not really keen on doing a DIY myself coz not too handy with a spanner. Was wondering if anyone knows or has done a shift kit upgrade on their cars and can recommend me a reputable auto transmission service center to do the job. thanks in advance.
  21. sorry to hijack this thread, but has anyone purchased shock absorbers from the US? is there a difference in the sprint seat between the US Infiniti g35 and the skylines V35 shocks?
  22. hey Tank. i have a nismo v2 bumper coming in from the states. was intended for my car, but a change of jobs may force me to sell the V so all modification projects are on-hold. let me know if ur keen.
  23. sad to hear your leaving the V community in perth Victor, but good luck in your move to Brissy. I've got a new job in Kewdale and I have nature strip parking...so no way my car can mount the kerb. seriously contemplating selling my V too...but it breaks my heart to have to do it.
  24. have the same on the side of my center console. a phone cord which attaches to a little on/off slider swith...have NFI what its for.
  25. hard to find anyone who would want to swap their leather for cloth seeing as the leather option was sold as a more dearer luxury pack. best option would be to search the japan yahoo auctions and import the seats in yourself then get some cash back by selling your existing seats.
