don't think they'll buy that reason. The RTA ruling is pretty clear on that ..if it's registered under his name, then it will not be considered a family car. It has to be registered under either parent, then u can argue that it's the sole family car and that he's applying for exemption to be allowed to drive the car.

Engine Oil Recommendations For V36
fcruz3r replied to mystic's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
i change every 5000km, so castrol edge - syn 5w30 is fine with me. I've never tracked my car ...so wouldn't know if theres any difference. used motul chrono and royal purple before and cant honestly say i noticed the difference in 65/35 city highway driving. look in your service manual for recommended viscosity on the HR engines -
You can try the 2nd option SECTION E - Prohibited Vehicle Exemption This condition restricts all P1 and P2 drivers, regardless of age, from driving 'prohibited vehicles'. A prohibited vehicle is a motor vehicle with: eight or more cylinders certain high performance six cylinder and other vehicles listed on the RTA website. An exemption may be granted to a: 1.country driver who requires the use of eight or more cylinder Four Wheel Drive (4WD V8) vehicles if there is no practical alternatives 2.person who can prove they owned the prohibited vehicle prior to 11 July 2005 or before an interstate/overseas licence transfer (attach proof of acquisition). Note, only a provisional who has never held a NSW licence before his/her licence transfer can apply for this exemption 3.person who can demonstrate any other exceptional circumstance, (attach any information necessary to support your exemption request).

read this the other day "And what about insurance? We asked NRMA Insurance if P-platers who drive their parents car, now on the banned list, void the comprehensive insurance policy. What if the parents have already paid a premium on the policy, so their teenager can drive the car? Do they get a refund? "We will review claims on an individual basis," a spokesman told Drive." pretty sure it applies to you owning the car as well... but give the RTA a call and get written confirmation or letter of exemption. imho all the advice on how to hide or partially obscure the p plate just shows your being dodgy... u may get lucky and have a cop who lets u off lightly....but 6 months away from getting ur license is hardly worth the risk. i agree with getting a cheap banger to run around in for the next 6 mths.

Detailing And Caring For Your Ride
fcruz3r replied to R6n350GT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
polish/swirl remover: poorboy SS1 seal: zaino z2pro glaze: poorboy black hole wax: natty blue, used dodo juice before but it's hella expensive for my pocket and almost same results imho wheels/exhaust: p21s polishing soap all the above works relatively well for me and it's cheaper than the mothers or meguairs that u get from repco. try waxit.com.au -
lol...sorry steve, was my bad. to the OP, you can have my stock bumper for free if you get me a kuruma z bumper

Richard...you know better than to post things like this on the forum. we should organise track day at AHG for our cars and really appreciate the drive. public roads are not the place...no matter how good a driver, it will make us no better than the hoons driving old commodores with a HSV cap worn tilted sideways and a huge jetpilot sticker on the windscreen.

Whats The Go With V35 Sedans? No One Like 'em?
fcruz3r replied to Dark1's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
and you wonder why no one asks you sedans are a bit harder to sell as your competing with locally delivered maximas ...but just hang in there or if your in a rush to sell...then just drop the price till it hurts. -
mate..word of caution before the moderators flog u for posting shite on the website... public announcements of racing or speeding on public roads arn't condoned ...esp if u drive a n/a gts ...its hardly worth mentioning
-
true that...i doubt they have a duty of disclosure to supply the buyer with auction grade certificates...maybe import and export permits and any duty paid and so forth...but not auction grade certs ...some would probably be happy to supply them if requested

Oem Dvd Player Not Working :( Help!
fcruz3r replied to Aeky's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
LOL... I was just kicking myself for thinking I could have used the original japan DVD drive for mp3... glad you pointed out that he was using an aftermarket unit -
it's called alternator whine and caused by voltage differences and u can hear it as high frequency noise....i.e only on your front splits and not on the low frequency subwoofer. try this 1. do not run power cables and rca side by side. 2. ground each amp independently and do not attach ground from one amp to the next 3. ground the HU to bare chassis metal...not some aluminium bracket on the inside of the dash 4. if none of the above works...use a ground loop isolator on the rca i'm no expert in the field...but i have had the same problem before and have always managed to resolve it using the 4 steps above.

+1 on warped rotors. shouldnt cost u much to get them machined, but if there's not much meat left on the rotors u might need to change them out.
-
let me know how much for the wheels if ur parting out. swaps with my gtc + cash ur way if ur keen.

if u have severe negative camber that can't be dialed out...then having zero toe will kill the tyres faster....u could mitigate by having it toe in but if its worn on the inside...change tyres...its illegal to drive on them and if u get in an accident...u could potentially be uncovered by insurance. u may need adjustable camber arms...but if ur not lowered...doubt that the negative camber will be excessive so just get a proper alignment.
