  2. Go back maybe 6 pages and you will see the rear housing that has the wastgate attached. this picture clearly shows just the rear housing and might help you understand what is needed to be done.
  3. and what is wrong with that?? to get to 300rwkw (400hp ~ish) give or take 20kw all you need is a nistune after installing bigger injectors, bigger turbo, FMIC, 3in+ exhaust and boost T.. The other stuff is more to make it more reliable or if the stock parts are stuffed. The main thing that will make the power goal is going to be turbo. A GTX3076 will make 300rwkw but so can a GTX3071.. HKS turbo mentione above might not make 300 but it sure will kick the other 2 in acceleration on the street. Hi-Flows also might not make 300kw but they make a nice quick 250ish kw which will be fast on the street. If your mate really wants to crack 300kw then i would not get FPR, head gasket, head bolts and Bov and get a 6boost mani+external gate with a GTX3076
  4. second hand CAS produced same problem, car is now going to the tuners as I think the timing belt was out before and the tune was done to the timing being out. I have a stock ECU but dont have the stock AFM otherwise i would have used that to check timing. Will post back what happens at the tuners but they think they will have it sorted in 2 hours.

My hand controller is saying timing is at 15 degree but when using a timing light its at about 0deg is there a setting when using the datalogit to advance the whole map X degree? im just having trouble getting the cam timing correct after checking the timing belt 4 times and changing the CAS. Im thinking my problem could now be PFC related. before i got my PFC it is possible that my timing belt was out a tooth to which i have had my PCF tuned to and now since making sure my timing is correct the tune will be out??
  6. sure can i had my timing out neg 30Degree (hoping due to a stuff CAS) and i could hear the turbo spinning like it was spooling onto boost at idle.
  7. Well after checking again and counting the teeth everything lines up!! Now to get a new or second hand CAS
  8. yeah i have checked and checked again might even try and take a photo and upload it as i could think its aligned but i actually have it off.. Timing belt does not have any marks except for 3 lines all together (its a gates racing belt) and this is why i am counting the teeth (i think I should be counting the gaps on the belt as the numbers are actually on the cam and crank pulley teeth) Fingers crossed i have it all right and its possibly a f**ked CAS as ill be changing it if i have it all correct.
  9. Loop at back of engine and timing light is from Snap-on. Car ran like shit again as i was just aligning the CAS back to the same marks before hand so i borrowed the timing light and when i checked it was so far off it wasn't funny. Once i advanced the CAS the power was back but now top end power has gone completely.. I have checked compression and all cyl are over 160psi so that gave me some hope its not bent vales ect. Is it possible for the CAS not to alight correctly even with the key? I counted that i need 38 teeth between inlet and exhaust cam (or 39 to be one past) to line up the belt but with the crank i didn't count teeth i just slipped it on making sure the exhaust side didn't have any slack.. tonight im going to make sure i have the right number of teeth between exhaust and crank.. which is 47 if i read it correctly.

Put it all back together and still has the same problem WTF!! borrowed a timing light and its out -30 degree ish.. advanced the CAS as far as i can go will put timing to 0 when timing should be 15. time to pull it down again and check for the 10th time... and try and find where im missing 15degree still. Could my CAS be rooted??? or maybe i have cam timing right but got the crank a tooth or two out? i got the belt right in the past but this time is doing my head in.
  12. pulled everything off this morning to inspect cam timing and inlet is spot on however exhaust cam appears to be 2 teeth out ... so what is that 30degree advanced??

I know its a old thread but i think i may have the same problem but could be something else as turbo and cams where also fiddled with at the same time. exhaust mani gasket was changed and cam caps where undone as i was going to remove the head but in the end i didn't so all was put back together, timing checked several times (dots lined up with backing plate mark and crank keyway was straight up) I get a major flat spot from 3500~ to about 5000~ rpm it just hardly moves up the rev range but still makes 14psi as it did before changing timing belt.. CAN having the timing out a few teeth that when VCT kicks in its choking up?? as it comes sort of good after 5-6000rpm and feels ok good under 3000rpm.. could i have got something else wrong other than timing that would chock it up but still make same boost?
  15. well i have added +25 ign and noticed no difference even went -15... no difference.. Might have to find someone to unlock it or buy a datalogit (anyone got one i can borrow?)
  16. My PFC has been locked from making changes by a tuner and need to know if the ignition and injector advance decrease option ign/ijn i think still works when locked via the hand controller?

  20. Really? what about WATER methanol injection... that does not cause this problem.. sure it might if heaps of water got in but a small mist couldn't hurt could it?
