  1. I got my previous car tuned at Procar in Dee Why twice and was the one that pointed them out to Bob. They got a guy in to do the tuning of my car who has close affiliations with cosworth. He isn't just a nice guy that tunes the engine safely, he insists you sit in the car with him during the tune so you can ask questions and so he can ask you from time to time what boost, what power, what sort of reliability you are aiming at. I've got another appointment with them when my GTR lands.
  2. How come the tune was no good Mr B? Have you got your dyno queen all sorted now?
  3. I had a single 2530 turbo on my gtst and I was very pleased with it. I would think it would make a decent amount of power.
  4. We will never ever get a tarago. The only use I have found for a tarago is to transport my bonnet from UAS to home after I bought the carbon item.
  5. I dont know where he works. I just remembered his face from the last cruise I went on. There was footage of him turning up in his red mr2 and that made me certain that it was him. He signed up as a skylines australia member on this same cruise, has glasses, is 30yo, and from memory wore a rugby jersey on the day of the cruise.
  6. Thanks Brendan. I may end up having to replace the gtr and get a family car such as a Stagea or possibly a toyota 4 door chaser or something.
  7. It just happens I had 60minutes on tonight and saw a familiar face - andrew o'rouke. Some of us may remember him as the driver of the red mr2 on the last putty rd cruise Skylines Australia members went on. Another bit of news. During the week i proposed to my girlfriend which she accepted. We will be getting married early next year.
  8. Frinik/anyone, There may be a position that is opening up where I work on the Northern Beaches. The new guy we hired doesn’t seem to be up to scratch. We create electronic car catalogues for car dealerships around the world to use - part interpreters use them. We cover Ford Australia, Ford North America, Ford Japan, General Motors (global), Daihatsu, Hyundai, land rover, etc. etc. The job would involve checking the correctness of both the GUI and the data which means you'd have to be a logical thinker, know about car parts, and know how to work a computer. On the down side the job can be repetative but on the up side there are opportunities once you've proven yourself as a hard worker to become get into marketing/development/management/graphic design/legal/accounts/etc. I'll keep an eye out when/if the position becomes vacant. www.infomedia.com.au Mark
  9. I wouldnt mind getting a certificate stating that i've done an advanced driver course just for insurance reasons. Thank God i'm now 25yo+, i've had quotes of $2000 to insure my GTR. my gtst was costing me $2600.
  10. I've got a new car now too through J-Spec. I was very impressed with the amount of details and photos - about 500% more photos were given to me by J-Spec compared to when I imported my R33 through another party.
  11. I spent 3 months looking for a 89 gtst through Prestige but none of their cars caught my eye. I've now swapped over to J-Spec and have found a car. They say it was inspected last Friday and the pics + report should be sent to me Friday night/Saturday morning. I havent recieved anything yet.
  12. I'm getting around now in a Seat (spanish 2L small 4 door car). P doesnt know yet but its possible I have another car on its way from Japan... waiting for photos and report from the importer. PS don't let the cat out of the bag when you see her tommorow night - what time, i'll walk down and say g'day.
  13. I can beat that. I bought my car from auction in Japan early February 2002 and it was ready to get registered on July 15 2002. It stayed at the wharf for over a month and compliance took about a month too.
  14. Horse, have a look at the kind of prices the 32,33,and 34 gtrs are going for in Japan. Dont worry about all the calculations to get it into Australia, find out what taxes etc. apply to you for importing the car into USA. www.j-spec.com.au eg. http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=0804 www.prestigemotorsport.com
  15. A friend of a friend spend $22k on a engine rebuild on his R32 GTR. It was his weekend car and is now selling it as hes now got a M5. A while back I was going to buy a 1994 R32 GTR which had an engine rebuild which cost the owner $14k from memory which I think included high flowed turbos but he opted not to get forged internals. What would it cost to get a 33 or 34 GTR engine replacement instead?
  16. What did it cost to recondition the engine?
  17. Does this thread help? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=38608
  18. Who cares, I just quoted a web page. Try and not bring up posts that are 7 months old.
  19. Hows it going Ben? I sold my skyline too but opted for low performance $5k car. Insurance is a lot better at $700, I dont have to be careful where I park the car, I dont care about dings or scratches, and I dont have to worry about high octane fuel.
  20. Thanks to the drivers with faster cars than mine for being patient with my lack of speed especially going up the hills. The one thing I dont miss about my previous skyline was the fuel economy. The Seat has done over 500km on the current tank and still has 1/4 tank left... I wasn't sparing the horses either on our little trip.
  21. I'll meet at thornleigh maccas too... I'll be in a maroon sedan.
  22. I'll volunteer to be the one that forgets to fill up and gets lost just like all the other times  .
  23. Brendan, can I tag along with you if your coming back the same day?
  24. I'll meet you somewhere on the North side, but I wont be in my skyline. My Seat is as slow as a wet week, should i drive it or get a lift with someone?
  25. Sounds ok as long as its a non-smokers car, you are reasonably close to the northern beaches, and you dont drive like a maniac on the day.
