My mechanic has offered me a set of adjustable cam gears for my s2 r33. Should I get them now that I have: pod filter, FMIC, turbo back exhaust, high flow cat, high flowed turbo, and a profec B (on its way from nengun). My mechanic also mentioned that to increase boost above 1bar (which he recommends me running after its been on the dyno to see if everything is ok) I would need to get a aftermarket fuel pump and then if needed, injectors. Finaly, what sort of price should I pay my mechanic to install the cam gears if i end up purchasing them? BTW, once i get whatever is needed to get me 13sec 1/4 miles i'll get a powerFC. Mark

Can the back of the ash tray be removed so it would fit then? I don't want all and sundry to know I have a EBC when looking into my car from outside. Mark

I didnt realise until about 3 months after I bought my r33 gtst when I pulled out the back seat to install rear speakers that the headrests on the rear seat were very noticably faded - but not white. I've got my whole car tinted now so that will slow down the processes. I'm doing nothing about mine because no one looks at the tops of the headrest. If there is a solution to our problem I might give it a try, otherwise a complete retrim might be on the cards in the distant future. Good luck with purchasing the GTR, did you know that you can get the car cheaper if you go through a broker such as http://www.j-spec.com.au/ or http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/ to name two. If you decide to go down the broker path you might be able to get thier guy at the auctions in Japan to take photos of all the seats and the parcel shelf/back head rests to help find yourself a good example. Is the powerFC pro vs powerFC more expensive to install and tune or are they the same? What workshop should I call to enquire about installation and tuning the pro with the addon boost controler? Mark

I've just been to the nengun website and they are selling "GTS t R33 USED APEXi POWER PRO VERSON F/C H/C boost controller and greedy speed cut unit" for $1600 I want both a boost controler (so i can take advantage of my high flowed turbo) and a computer. Should I get a normal powerFC for around the $1400 mark and get a seperate EBC (suggestions needed on what unit to get). OR get the above powerfc pro with its boost controller? I'm looking at low 13sec 1/4s, and currently have turbo back exhaust, pod filter, high flowed turbo, hi flow cat, standard boost. FMIC goes in on thursday this week too. Thanks for your input Mark

Keep me up-to-date on any quotes you get for the HPC coating. What sort of performance gains would I realise if I get the exhaust manifold, turbo exhaust housing and intake manifold pipe as VSPEC suggested? and has anyone got any ball park figures for this work - I cant call them while i'm at work. I might leave them an email instead. Mark

I'm thinking about getting come HPC coating done and want to do it all in one hit. For me the HPC will serve 2 purposes: 1. reduce heat since i'll be running a bar or so of boost 2. It looks good. What should I have done to cover both bases? Will it give me a increase in performance? What parts should I polish instead of HPC? Lastly, i've never seen any pricing on HPC coating. keka18 you are correct. In another thread I mention that I got it done at Envy Imports on the Northern Beaches. They charged me nothing to fix it because I have done business with them before and I also got a front/dump pipe + hi flow cat and they high flowed my turbo at the same time. They are also doing a FMIC for me within 2 weeks. I've also got a leak at the muffler which they said to get fixed at any exhaust place, so when I get time (working 6 days a week to fund mods) I'll get that fixed too. Mark

What is the Hills Motorsport box? Since you've already paid $180 for the UAS and are wanting this aluminium one costing $400 i'm guessing it is an upgrade. I'm getting a FMIC in 2 weeks and already have the above mentioned mesh POD, should I be looking at the Hills box or the UAS one? Jimmy, thats what they described/named the filter at the dealership I bought the car from. I haven't had a good look at it to see if it had any brand name so your probably right. It is a metal mesh, so should I pull it apart and clean it like mentioned above and not worry about oil? Mark

Every time I have my car closed for a couple of hours or more I get a nose full of stale cigarette smell. Being a non-smoker and astmatic it isn't the nices greeting I could get every time I open the car door. Installing my headunit about a month ago I took off the gear boot and other bits and pieces around that area and vacumed up a substancial amount of cigarette ash. Unfortunatly the car still stinks. Is there any way I can get rid of this smell, or should I give up and buy one of those air freshners and stick it on the air vent? I know jimX has raised this question in another thread in november last year about cleaning out the air conditioning or something but he got no useful answers. Thanks for any advice, Mark
