  1. How can I clean my Apexi air filter ? Is it the similar to Pawleys HKS pod? Mark
  2. In brendans car we had at least 2 radios so if I had know I would have let either you or bigvis use mine for the night. Question for bigvis: what does "bigvis" mean? The other day I caught some young teenage kids trying to work out my number plate - they were trying to get a MR out of MRK25T. I thought it was funny. Mark
  3. I dont think Bigvis will apreciate you calling his students 'pissed idiots' Are the two skylines that decided to take another route to the pizza place planing on investing in two-way-radios for future cruises? Did you end up taking that straw home Duncan? Mark
  4. Anyone going to try QQ again with their orange juice/coffee? I'm buggered, only had about 1.5 hours sleep and have been doing a lot of overtime at work recently. Thanks for the ride Brendan, it will to good to see it in the daylight. Mark
  5. What time are you hitting the northern beaches? If I feel up to it and have access to mums car I might drive to chatswood. Any chance making it a bit earlier? I have to get up at 4am =( If brendan is a 90% chance i'll come for sure. I'd love to be a passenger in his car. What channel are you going to be operating on? Mark
  6. I've been keeping a close tab on my fuel usage recently which is in the table below. Reason i've done this is because I plan to get a PowerFC and plan to do some comparisons. I have a R33 gtst with cat back exhaust, and an air filter. Next time I fill up i'll have a full exhaust + highflow cat + no exhaust leak. If anyone is interested I can continue posting updates and will let you know how the powerFC compares when I eventually get one. 7. I'll buy the BOV from you INASNT, i've sent you 2 PMs. Whats involved with blocking the standard BOV and what will it cost to get someone to do it for me? Mark
  8. Thank Nick. My car is getting fixed and should be ready to be picked up this saturday. As a bonus it will be picked up will a full exhaust, high flow cat, and high flowed turbo. I wanted it fixed by Australia day for the cruise. I'm basicly getting the exhaust leak fixed for free when down with the other upgrades. Mark
  9. Joel, the reason I didn't go for an aftermarket turbo is because I want my engine to look factory for insurance reasons. I'm on the wrong side of 25, i'm male, and already drive a HPI which they charge me $2500+ a year on insurance. I'm not chasing 260 rwkw, i'm aiming at whatever power entertains me. 6 months with standard boost, cat back exhaust, and filter is not as fun as it was when I first got the car. Another reason is that flipping burgers and asking "would you like fries with that" doesnt help when mods cost $1000+ The reason I could afford the high flow etc. is because I landed a temp job at uni now that i've just completed my degree. What is the most stealth way to increase boost while having a high and low setting? Mark
  10. Today I decided to get a workshop to fix my exhaust leak while also high flowing the stock R33 turbo and turning my cat back exhaust into an exhaust from turbo back with high flow cat. At one place I visited today the salesman said that a powerFC is not simply a plug and play unit. Without tuning its limited to 3000rpm. He quoted something like $1800 for the powerFC + H/C or $3500 fitted + tuned. From what I could understand from Merli, I could get it tuned for about 2-$300 and can buy a new powerFC + H/C through someone on these forums for $1500. I'm thinking of getting a greddy profec B EBC, what costs other than purchasing the unit are involved? Do you need to be a wizzard at electronics to fit it, do you need to put your car on the dyno to adjust the boost settings? Mark
  11. Thanks Joel. When I get around to doing it I will take photos along they way so others either can see how silly I am or maybe learn something. I'm going away today for a week so nothing will be done until then. Mark
  12. I don't do friday nights, I'm up at 4am each Saturday working. Sunday is the only time I can go on cruises and at the moment my car is out of action due to an exhaust leak. It's been a while since I did physics at uni, can waves travel through an air-tight sub box? How do you test if the box is really air tight? Stick a canary in it and see and if it has fallen off its perch after X minutes? Maybe stick the whole sub abd box under water and see if you can see any bubbles? Mark
  13. Are you going to take pics YO880 when you do it? Feel free to come down to my place if your seeing christian again so I can have a look at your car. Mark
  14. There was a white van there when myself and a friend went down. The garage doors were closed, and feeling the front of the van the engine seemed cold indicating that it had not been run recently. We went there between 9:30am and about 10:30am. Maybe he popped in later in the day Seems like a place that specialise in Porches, does he do work on your skyline? Mark
  15. Today I went to talk to Richard from PR Technology (near the post office) but they were all shut and didnt have any notice in the window indicating when they will reopen. I also tried ringing the place I bought the car from but they don't seem to be around either. Why do things go wrong when everyone is on holidays and its the first time you really need your car. grrr. I blame Murphy - him and his laws. Mark
  16. I put some pioneer speakers in for the rear. I also had to remove the stock rear speaker mounts and make my own because the speaker screw holes didn't match up to the aftermarket speaker. You will also have to do something similar to me out of MDF if you want your future alpine or whatever speakers to fit. Happy New Year. Mark
  17. Ok, i'll put those pics back up now. Those metal clips near at the rear didn't seem to do anything so when putting it back i didnt bother with them. I guess the guys that did the compliance work with the child restraints didn't bother with them either. You ripped the parcel shelf like I did with those fins Its a bastard of a thing especially with this hot weather + the frustration that builds up over something as trivial as this. Good luck with your parcel shelf predator666, see if you can get the it off without ripping it. Mark
  18. I have a R33 gts-t s2 skyline. I had a look at the engine a few min ago and found ive got an exhaust leak at the flange between the engine manifold and the turbo. I previously thought i wasn't getting full boost which was wrong. There is a distinct smell of exhaust fumes entering the car so I wont be going on long trips. Joviant on the Northern Beaches will charge me for 6 hours labour at $80 per hour and about $100 for parts. Another local exhaust place wouldn't touch my car because its a turbo. Can someone recommend a place to take it to because I can't afford $500. I'd be happy getting one of the forum members to work on my car because i'm not confident in doing it myself. I'll purchase the parts needed. $150 to someone that is willing to fix my skyline located in Sydney (northern beaches). I'll throw in a carton if wanted but I havent drunk since my 21st so it will be a lonely drink. Let me know if anyone is interested. Mark
  19. Thanks Primo, i'll check all my pipes to see if i can fix the problem myself. Failing that i'll do as red900ss says and take it to joviant when they next open. Mark
  20. I must be tired. Must not have been me PVA, i'm on the other side of this country and have never been to perth. I looked at where you were from and for some reason 'Penrith' popped into my head. Mark
  21. Which freeway was this? If it was anywhere near Eastern Creek the other day for the track day I only saw the pink justjap car which stood out like an altar boy's errection. I also spotted a local GTR arriving at eastern creek as I was leaving (purple GTR with zila number plates - 400+ kw). Sorry I seemed to ignore you (I didn't see you). I was more concered not ending up on some highway to hell. As mentioned in the eastern creek thread I had no map and was unable to find someone to follow. Thank God I saw the justjap car pull onto the m4 because I was traveling in the total opposite direction =) I might have to get one of those GPS systems if I want to travel outside the safety of the northern beaches. Sure it was me PVA? Mark
  22. My s2 R33 gtst is only running at about 3-4psi instead of the factory boost level. I can hear that there is a hole or some sort of leak somewhere near the engine. Modifications include only exhaust and pod filter. I did have standard boost until this little problem. I took it to a local exhaust place in brookvale and got him to have a quick look at it (after he told me he doesn't do turbo cars) and he said it seems to near the manifold. He recommened another local performance place called Joviant but unfortunatly there were closed yesturday and today. I need to get it running properly before I start work at uni on or around the 7th Jan. I've heard good things about Hills but have also heard they take forever and a day. Does anyone know my what my problem is, and can they refer me to a perfomance mechanic near the northern beaches that doesn't charge like a wounded bull. I prefer not going to the dealer in Manly I bought the car from. I remember him telling me there was a boost leak when he drove my car back from botany warf but said it was fixed. I guess he didn't do a good job or something because in the last week its come back and the car is out of warranty. Mark
  23. To get your rear seat out Mr Mango there are two screws near the bottom of the seat. You then can yank the seat up quite hard near where you took the screws out. To get the upper part of the seat out I think you lift it up because its held on by three hooks - you also have to get it around the seat belts. Mark
  24. ok. 6 - rx7 that look like it beat everyone while I was there. 7 - a silver gorrila. 8 - Duncan making his way to line up for a start. 9 - the rx7 near the pits. 10 - The silver gorilla on the track along with brendans elbow. 11 - Duncan on the track. 12 - Xrsist in the pits. 13 - yellow i'm yours in the pit just before he got only 1 lap for his first session. 14 - JustJap in the pits. 15 - A black R33 that shares mine and ndr's rims. I still think they look better on a silver R33 than black and white =) 16 - Same black R33 but taken on the roof of the pits looking down. 17 - Donut King out in the car park before it hit the track. Thats all i've got other than shots of the track without cars - I was too slow on the trigger. I went back home early. Did anyone get any photos or footage of the joviant R33 GTR (purple) with the plates "ZILA" I think. I saw it arriving just as I was leaving. Mark
  25. Photos I took in the morning: 1 - A silver gorrila. 2 - Quite a few Japanese cars lining up. 3 - Duncan in the pits with xrsist getting into his car in background. 4 - Black R33 in the pits. 5 - White WRX driven by a disabled driver. Photo number 5 is of a guy I met in the parking lot who hasn't got use of his leg (gets around in a wheel chair). It was good to see him out there having fun and beating quite a few cars. Mark
