  1. Does it pull harder? Ummmm yes. Yes it does.. Got a front mount at the same time so that might have made some difference as well
  2. Nah, to be safe matt assumed it was the stock turbo and didn't bump it above 11psi. If it is the stocko theres no sense in risking it. Will be interesting if it is a highflow, previous owner never mentioned it. More just wondering about that knock reading. I mean given my Air/Fuel ratio's and the fact that I could neither hear nor feel any sign of pinging, the reading of 250 would have to be wrong yeah? It didn't just read that once, read above 200 at one point and like 170 earlier on. Its possible that its just been calibrated wrong? Or a faulty knock sensor? Corect me if im wrong but I should get some sort of warning light on the dash at high knock levels yeah?
  3. Got my SAFC 2 installed and tuned along with a front mount and new fuel pump. Tuned by Hitman (Matt) in Penrith. Car made 217rwkw which was quite suprising, I was expecting more like 190 ish. Matt seemed to think it was abnormally high as well and that my turbo might be abit of a freak. Either that or a happy dyno Either way, even if its actually making 50rwkw it still feels significantly quicker which is the main thing. Running 11psi. My only concern is the knock reading im seeing on the SAFC, Im thinking tomorrow im going to try re-set the SAFC's knock reading or something. Because it read like 250 at one point which just seems crazy high, however at no point did I hear anything even remotely like pinging nor did the car miss a beat. A/F ratio seems safe enough, averaging 12:1 I would think that if it actually WAS pining that high I would have A: Heard it and B: Be crying over a dead engine right about now. Reads around 10 or so on idle or just cruising so I dunno. I think ill call matt tomorrow and ask about it. But yeah, pretty happy, Matt was very good to deal with and like I said, I can definetly notice the extra power, especially in 3rd.
  4. I got my L's first go and my P's 3rd I failed for such stupid ass things though. Such as '65 in an 80 zone (in the wet) was driving dangerously slow' - Whatever Dumb RTA ho says 'Turn right here' so I start to turn then realise shes trying to lead me the WRONG WAY down a fkn 1 way street. I stopped turning and kept going straight and she put that down as 'Needed intervention to prevent dangerous situation' or some crap like that. Oh yeah and I gave way to someone at a round-a-bout because I was being overly cautious during the test, and got marked down God I hate the rta....... What was this thread about? Oh yeah learning to drive..... Umm Im with everyone else, just get some RWD crapbox and a dirt field and let loose. Sticking to the RTA guidlines for driving teaches you stuff all. Theres no emergency braking, you don't have to have the faintest understanding of oversteer or understeer etc. Knowing how to reverse park is all well and good but your average p plater who gets into his/her first oversteer situation is going to totally freak out. I know I did.....
  5. Thanks guys, Penrith is perfectly acceptable for travel. I gave Hitman a call, seems like a nice guy and at least knows what a SAFC is, one other place I won't mention.....well they tried to tell me it was a boost controller......
  6. Hi all Just wondering if anyone knows of some good places in the Blue Mountains area that would be able to install+tune a S-AFC and also do an FMIC install? Cheers
  7. I think I get what your describing as well, like if im driving along with no air on I get a nice warm almost blowing air down around my feet. I always just assumed it was heated engine bay air getting in from somewhere
  8. Hi guys, Today I was fiddling with my controller and dropped the spring into my bloody engine bay and could not for the LIFE of me find where the FK it has gone. Anyway provided I don't find it, does bunnings sells the same sort of spring? Anyone had issues with replacing the spring? I need the controller working by tomorrow as Im taking my car in to get a SAFC installed and tuned and want it tuned for 12psi
  9. Last time I reset my ECU my car was pumping out some smoke for a few mins until I went for a thrash and all was well From what I udnerstand its not a bad idea to reset ECU after some mods, ie FMIC, Zorst, Pod etc. Whether it makes a difference? Who knows. But I usually drive it hard after a reset, so it 'learns' how it should behave
  10. Hi Got a skyline? Looking to get one?
  11. The problem here is that its like....part of jap lifestyle to be completely suicidal crazy Some aussies probably COULD do that but have something called 'fear' holding them back.
  12. Looking at that millionaire's cruise thing, man there seem to be ALOT of tasteless rich folk 1: The owner of that Mclaren Mercedes SLR has RUINED it, Red and silver do NOT go together 2: The Veyron owner, Blue and White? For the worlds fastest production car surely he could have gotten a better looking colour combo 3: Im insanely jealous of their wealth
  13. No Wukkas man. If you wanna find out for SURE about the whole criminal thing theres a free legal advice line you can call, they offer good suggestions. I used em once to find out what legal action I could take when some chumps lets their dogs play on the road. $1,500 worth of damage to my old car and 1 dead dog I mean damn, I love dogs, so not only did I feel heaps bad for having run over it, I had a mashed up front end (was a big dog). Anyway I don't know the number but they would be able to give you a certain answer, won't cost you anything.
  14. Damn, that was harsh. As far as I know mate as long as you didn't actually hurt anyone it won't show up as a 'criminal' offence. I think driving drunk may do though but as you were sober you should be right. I DO feel sorry for you mate, sure it was stupid and you were a total idiot and such, but I bet half the people that have a go at you for it have done the exact same things themselvs. Sure thats no excuse for doing it but I bet 90% of the people on this forum have at least once in their life given their car abit of a squirt off the lights or whatever. Good luck man
  15. Really? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdsBStAbAi4 try that? and LOL at Vtech and WTF ROFL at the Xwing VL!
  16. I have the X-Force Strainless Steel turbback on my car, its loud at WOT but ive had cops stand behind it and listen to it and they didn't seem to think it was illegally loud. As suggested, youtube the particular systems and see what sound you like best. If you want I can take a recording of the Xforce if you want
  17. Ok I removed my backtothefuture one and added a longer, better version, enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdsBStAbAi4
  18. Inspired by this pic I made a 2nd video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n36EqH8GNxQ ending got cut slightly
  19. Baaahahahahahahahah man everyone of the photoshop pics so far are friggin hilarious. The modified ad clip I made last night and showed it to my mate, didn't think others would really like it but I was quite suprosed lol. I especially ROFLD at the Back to the future pic, bloody funny stuff haha
  20. By the sound of it though your not going to be able to just 'add more batteries' Upping the voltage would probably work I would think, but you would need to fit thicker wiring. The best gains in performance would probably just be seen by not using the AC or radio at the time. EDIT: I would assume as wel of course that when not on throttle they would utilise the moving energy to recharge the battery a little? That way you could engine brake as well maybe
  21. While it all sounds very impressive I thnk the general public is going to fail to realise that the power to charge it up is still a result of burning fossil fuels. So you plug it into a wall socket to refill it with juice, where do people think that power comes from? I agree with what someone else said, Nuclear power is the way to go in Australia. They are SO much more efficent than coal burning power plants. Crap like wind and solar power is all well and good in THEORY but the fact is that it doesn't produce NEARLY as much power as required, and look at the fossil fuels burnt by the factories making all the panels and what not. Call me an Ecoterroist but I plan to hold onto a petrol car as long as possible. Sure electric cars might be awesome for a nice quiet luxury car but your not going to impress anyone by revving your little electric motor at the lights now are you
  22. While it looks 'good' to me it doesn't look fantastic. Theres something about alot of new cars, they all seem to just be variations of the same to me.
  23. LOL thats the best one ive seen so far, ahhh back to the future, what an awesome movie.
  24. I agree. Its funny, everyone ive spoken to has said they have never in their life seen such a gesture. Clip one was just some dude doing a burnout. Clip 2 as everyone has pointed out just shows you how NOT to cross a road, who the hell just steps out?! Just because we are young doesn't mean that we have to randomly give way to people throwing themselvs out infront of our cars. And #3, well from the look of it his mates were just heaps unimpressed with his weak sauce drift. As pointed out, all this stuff is 'hoon' behaviour (although I think that word is thrown about too easily these days) and isn't speeding per se.
