  1. yes that wire, ive felt it and it gets very hot, im going to move it tonight (waiting for it to cool down) the main concern I had was for that other line that seems to run right under/next to it.
  2. Hey guys, I guess ill get it put back on. I took a couple of pics of what is near my turbo so you can let me know if anything is dangerously close.
  3. So it won't melt any intercooler lines or wires that run near it etc? Thats a relief.
  4. Hey guys, Got my exhaust today and I must say I can notice a difference. Anyway I was driving just now and noticed a 'clank' every time i turned or wiggled the steering wheel. Popped the bonnet and noticed they had not put back the heatshield for the turbo. Turns out the clanking noise was because they had left a tool adapter sitting in my engine bay, so im glad that was nothing, but I have concerns over if i should even drive the car without the shield, as there are wires and stuff that run closeish to it, and upon feeling them they were very warm. Im just worried that ill melt something. But then again maybe they left it off because it wasnt needed?
  5. Ugh I couldn't stand that guy. Who the hell goes to a random carpark and starts bashing on peoples cars? I mean hell your allowed to not like something but dont go on about it like that. There are very few cars I dont like. Alot I think are meh, but thats about it. There are maybe 5 cars where i will see one and go 'omg i hate that car' This guy seems to hate EVERYTHING. And he has an annoying voice.
  6. "thats the stock one. Mine looks exactly the same." Oh good, thats what I wanted to hear. Thanks mate
  7. I just measured it, you measure just the width of the opening yeah? It measured 6cm, which is 2.4" Ill measure the new system when I get the car back, but its the 3" xforce. I didnt really hold both next to each other and measure, but just from sighting them they looked 'similar'
  8. I just took a photo of what was on my car before. Is it the stock system?
  9. My new Xforce 3" turbo back system is being fitted right now, one question I have is what size is the stock piping? I had the new piping next to the old one and the old one looked 3", albeit alot more bendy. Im just wondering, if im going from 3" to 3", im hopeing the gain I get is noticeable.
  10. Yep weve had a few dramas. Basically we had everything removed but the top half of the dump pipe. We got 3 of the 6 bolts out but could do no more. As it was getting dark we just refitted the dump and stock cat and have left it at that, will be getting a workshop to fit it for me this week. Unfortunetly though im now driving a terribly loud car and im paranoid about being defected.
  11. More problems. We are having great difficulty removing the 6 bolts holding the dump pipe in place. We have gotten 3 off but the others you cannot fit a socket nor a spanner onto. How the hell is one meant to get the dump off
  12. so if i say.....cut it off and not use it with the new cat........would anythng bad come of this?
  13. Im currently trying to install a turbo back exhaust with a mate. Apart from the obvious little hiccups, we are having a real issue with removing the sensor in the old cat. I dont know what it does, or if its needed, but the spanner on it is just rounding the nut as its too rusted in. WD-40 has not helped. What does this thing do? Do we need it or can it just be cut out?
  14. I must have typed something wrong...your the 2nd person to not see the 'turbo back' parts of what I have said. It IS turbo back buddy
  15. Yeah look really Ill pay $1,150. Was just checking to make sure they arent like $300 or something... lol Anyway I want to goto Carline, got a Cat-back done on my old car and they seem to do good work and are friendly, which is worth paying for IMO. Im a little concerned about how loud its going to be. 3" with a Cannon muffler (6" body, 4.5" tip) Being within legal limits would be nice...... But somehow I get the feeling it wont be. Oh well.
  16. In in the blue mountains, carline is at emu plains. Ive seen the mild steel version at Justjap for $800 yes, but once you add shipping and instalation costs, it would probably be close to $1,150 anyway. As to what cat it is, im guessing the whole system is Xforce. Its on their website, www.xforce.com the turbo back zorst for the R33 GTST
  17. Hey guys, got my tax return so ive just gone and gotten a quote at Carline Mufflers. X-force Mild steel turbo back with hi flow cat, supplied and fitted will be $1,150. I was hopeing it would be about the $1k mark. Does this price sound reasonable? Stainless steel was going to be like $1,850, way too much. And from what ive heard Mild steel, although it rusts quicker, is still good for 5+ years. Id call some other places but Carline is nice and close to me and ive dealt with them before, nice people.
  18. My BOV is atmo and I experience the issues described above, on gas to no gas revs will drop to like 400, engine will splutter a bit then idle returns to normal. Has stalled a couple of times because of this. It had the atmo when I got it. Cant say as its on my list of things to fix at this point but.
  19. Hmm interesting thread, im waiting for tax return then its full turbo back with hi flow cat. I want my extra boost!
  20. Ok so in summary you reccomend I just get the full Xforce turbo back system? Thanks for the help guys.
  21. Ok well theres the Xforce turbo back $799 for Mild Steel $950 for Stainless steel Theres also the JJR Split dump for $125 Whats the difference between a 'front pipe' and a 'dump pipe' ?? Does a split dump make a big difference? Again what sort of difference would I notice going from stock to the full Xforce turbo back And what difference ontop of that would I notice if there was a split dump?
  22. lol ok. Well how much of a difference does a split dumppipe make? And how much of a difference will the Xforce turbo back make over the stock exhaust? More power?
  23. I want loud...ish. As in, legal and not overly droney. Does anyone know if the X-Force has this split dump that was mentioned? If not, any other reccomendations on a full turbo back system for $900 or less. Also is it worth paying more for stainless steel? Ive heard mild steel is more than fine for many years.
  24. Whats this split dump buisness? (don't know what that means ) Also would there be much difference between a 3" and a 3.5" system? X-Force does both the 3" and 3.5" turbo back. Im thinking X-Force mainly because I had an X-Force cat back on my previous car and it sounded great.
  25. Hey guys. Ok so ive established that the Justjap JJR intercoolers are good and worth the money ($550 for a type 2 kit) My goal is: FMIC + Exhaust then crank up the boost. Good idea? OK lets say it is I completed my tax return today, should be getting about $900. Car is almost stock, except for a POD and BOV. My Dillema is, do I go for the exhaust or Intercooler or something else. Can only afford one at this time. The Exhaust i had my eye on was the X-Force 3.5" Turbo Back system ($799 for mld steel, $950 for stainless steel) The Intercooler kit im also looking at is the JJR Type 2 Intercooler kit. So if I could get peoples thoughts on: *Zorst, FMIC or other *What effects will each have on my car *Any other sugestions you feel are relevant Thanks guys
