  1. I would recommend redline 10w40 and run it for 10-15k just change the filter every 5000 max. Works out a lot cheaper than putting cheap stuff in every 5k. This is only for street driving. On the track use the same oil just change it after racing. Not sure what you mean by Australian conditions, inside an engine is the same wherever you are.
  2. Some friends recommended the new Potenza RE11S rs compound so I ended up buying them instead. Unreal tyre. good price ..well over here anyway.
  3. Great pad need the harness to stop you going thru the windscreen. Nice control no suprises, good on discs but a little expensive but worth every yen.
  4. Simonster thanks for all the great tips and advice I will put it to good use. Thanks Beer Baron, My car can go a lot faster than I can drive it at this stage. So am just out to try and improve my er lack of skills... I had thought about the mediums but did not want to wear them out driving to and from the track. Going there in June but have a few runs planned in August and September also . Probably hard is best. Its the full 5K track and its gonna be a great day.
  5. Thanks for your advice Simonster. I did not think you would run them that low initially for fear of rolling them of the rim but they have a rigid side wall I guess. What sort of camber do you run? I will get an infrared gun for sure. Thanks once again.
  6. Greetings I have had a scout though the threads but can't find what I am looking for. I live around 250k from Suzuka and will be going around once a month this year with some other locals from our workshop. I want to run Direzza 03G H (hard) compound rather than R compound (medium) as track is far away and want them to last a bit Questions are as I have to drive to the track and back on them (have street rims with Direzza 101's for street use.) whats the best track pressure and transit pressure for these tyres. We do 30min x 3 sessions. I was running 36-38 psi on Star specs (I only buy Dunlops best bang for my Yen) Any help most appreciated.
  7. Change your timing belt @100k
  8. Try this site . http://www.icijapan.com/old_site/ICIenglish%28en%29.htm You can either sign up for E learning or buy the books. If you really want to speak street Japanese this is the way to go. It is directed at natural English speakers only. I have tried private tuition it is good but slow and expensive. The online E learning has the best interface for self learning. I have the books SUN 1,2 and 3 they explain every thing in a way you will understand and they have Cd's included also to get the pronunciation right. Pimsleur is okay if you just want to get by but it is not street Japanese and you miss so much just listening to tapes. This is designed for the English speaking western brain. You may be able to get the books second hand on amazon If you can get online everyday then the E Learning is excellent. Albeit a tad expensive I have tried learning Kanji the Japanese method ( write each kanji out over and over ) this is okay if you are a school kid starting from an early age. There are also books where you learn Kanji by relating them to a picture someone dreamed up, this style is easy to forget. I have learned Hirigana Katakana (easy) Kanji (harder) using Heisigs methods. There are no pictures just word and silly little story associations (. For an imaginative mind this is foolproof and really fast and permanent. http://kanji.koohii.com/ いつまでも頑張りますね (always do your best) Best of luck
  9. Check this site out Expand the Japanese category and you will eventually end up at each track's website Lots of great tracks to drive on. Lots of kart tracks also. http://www.terap.org/raceway/japan/
  10. They are a Japanese company, here is there web address http://www.jspecworks.com/ You need to be fluent in Nihongo to deal with them. But there service is the best. Good luck
  11. I imported my car into Japan by a mob called J-Spec Probably a bit unusual you might think when I imported it to Australia in the first place ( Stock Standard grade 5) Upgraded the car, could not sell it in Australia now I use it heaps here at the local track . Best thing I ever did . To replicate this car here would cost a bundle ( more than Australia) All Japanese parts anyway apart from Motec computer.
