  1. Hey All, The best thing about a car is it doesn't get jealous when you perv on someone elses, and it won't get mad if you post pictures or videos of it on the net! I figured why not start a thread where we can show off our snap happy sides and gleaming rides! Please only post pics (few words IF needed). The forums have other threads for chatting... this thread is intented to be like a good woman... to be seen and not heard!!! If your a girl thats offended by this comment, its obvious that you're not a good woman, but a bad bad girl... there are threads for you too!!!
  2. some pics I took today... bad weather so I am going to take some more when it fines up
  3. yeh its only when I wear my lead filled sneakers... usually its work shoes or thongs (true blue aussie ) Wrong man to ask about O2 sensor pricing... anyone need any, call my bro at northside nissan (parts guy Adam "Chong" McGuinness). He sorted out a pair of GTR sensors for Trav (SLIPPERY) recently.
  4. seems like connecting my O2 sensors has made a small difference! now I'm getting 420-440kms but last tank was a heavy right footed 360kms
  5. when the car comes over from japan I thought they cut the a/c gas out because they can't ship the car with it... hazerdous substance? Surely cutting this out should have flushed the system out, and then when the car is here and a new gas bit plumed in it should just need refilling? My wifes uncle refilled my gas (he does fridges and industrial a/c up north)... there is 2 connectors that need hooking up when refilling the gas... one is on the passenger side near the radiator support (where the factory air box is/would be), the other is just near the pipe running through the firewall... its just behind the rear turbo so its not a job for a car that has just been driven... needs a good cool down!
  6. New operation... ROLL RIGHT TYRES in Jonndlaup... Guys name is Stanley. Was put onto him by a friend who is the FEDERAL tyre wholesaler... great guy and really freindly... not to mention did a great job (not rough so takes care of your rims) and prices are very good.
  7. is this event booked up yet or is there still spots available? I am hoping the car will be ready in time.
  8. hey man, get one from the east coast... there are heaps to choose from, just get it look at by a quality workshop that deals with skylines and then transport it over her and get it registered. I did it and got a better quality car than I could have got here and saved a heap in the process. just my 2 cents
  9. are you planning on making any exhaust manifolds or split dumps? also what price would you charge for polished stainless pipework for a 32GTR...from pods to turbos, turbos to cooler, cooler to inlet...all standard pipes at the moment.
  10. There has been a problem with the passenger side headlight not working on low beam and the parklight working only intermitnantly. After checking it out my self, tracing all the wires from the headlight plug, under the radiator support, etc... the wire was still dead. I took it to a sparky today for a fix. He said the plug at the actual switch on the dash cluster was where the problem was. When I was hooking up the fog lights it was easily visible that the main headlight plug was burnt from too much current, however a friend who has seen this before had told me that it's the same on all R32's. It looks like when it burnt out it still had connection, but when it was unplugged it lost it's connection. if you get the same problem... check there 1st! By the way, my old lights are gone
  11. realised my o2 sensors were fitted but the plastic conectors were not hooked up. Now they are hooked up the car seems to run a little better and I am hoping the km's/tank will go up a little. Just filled up today 65L of the good stuff... lets see how long it lasts.
  12. will you seperate? only want the head... no plenum, throts, coils, etc cam covers and down... nothing above or to the side!
  13. you've got mail!
  14. I gotta agree... fresh into my GTR I was very ambitious around a fast corner and it could have turned bad... thank god I did a rally course years ago and am over the whole panic attack thing. They just dont handle like a 4x4 or a rear wheel drive... they are something else again and you gota ease your way into it before you ease yourself into another car/person/tree...either one of those 3 aint good news
  15. It is apparently an obstruction or distraction for the driver, but you can have the unit mounted on the windscreen if you turn the display off. The current BEL range you can do this and still get the audible/voice alerts so the display really isn't needed anyway. If the cop wants to say it's a visible obstruction then just move it to the drivers side corner of your dash and tell them that it isn't taking up anymore room there than their in-car K band radar antenna... if they are happy to remove theirs then you will do the same!
  16. Hear from you then fr0st. There are jammers that do work and work well... BUT... HIGHLY ILLEGAL, and you might bring down a 747 in the process! There are two types of jammers, passive and active. As the names suggest passive does nothing until it needs to (only jams the signal when it receives the signal), and active constantly tries to block signals. Passive is useless and there are offers on the net of USD$5000.00 to anyone who can prove a passive jammer to work effectively! Active is HIGHLY ILLEGAL because it is constantly transmitting varying signals in order to confuse and disrupt radar devices. The problem is that the signals it uses can interfear with emergency service bands, airport traffic control bands, etc... you get the picture... not a good idea and if you get caught you will go to jail and then a little hole becomes a big hole. There are laser jammers that I may have tested!!! but these varied in quality and performance. They wouldn't be anything I would want to risk my licence on though. The best effective block I have "witnessed" was 120m, which isn't bad but as fr0st mentioned the cops gun will error on them and they will know something is up. Paint your car black as black is the least reflective colour and will absorb some of the laser beam (I lucked out with a white GTR!). I have heard (but have not tested) that VEIL stealth coating works reasonably well to further absorb this light reducing the effectiveness of the cops gun. Laser is that bloody quick though... you have to be so fast to react. If you get a inexperienced cop (like I have before), you can get ridiculous range! I have detected laser from an estimated 1km away on a dead straight road, but the experienced guys know they only need a distance large enough to nab you, and then jump out infront and stop you! A FEW FREE TIPS!!!!! *Never admit you were speeding when asked. *If asked do you know what speed you were going... always say the speed limit... if you don't know what the limit is, just say you were doing 50km/h. They have to prove you were speeding. *Ask to see the reading. It should have a speed and possibly a distance/range detected. If this is over 300m tell them their laser gun's effective range is only upto 300m and so the reading isn't valid. *Ask for evidence the gun is calibrated and proof they are qualified to calibrate that unit...most are only certified to use it! BEST FREE TIP!!!!! *Don't speed Sorry for the long post but better than typin it out hunderd times to who ever asks a question!
  17. Um... you might be waiting a while at the front door... we don't open over the weeknd. Sorry, I though our office address was on the site. We are only open Mon-Fri 8-5. Heat and many other variable factors can effect the performance of any electronic equipment using radiowaves (radar). The BEL XR will run a little hotter than other older units as it has a magnesium casing rather than a plastic fantasic case like just about every other detector on the market. The best analagy I always use is... think of your detector like your car radio... drive into a underground carpark and the steel and concrete will interupt the radio signal and crackle or drop out... a radio station outputs a fairly strong signal when compared to a cop radar so smaller things (e.g. dust, rain, trees, buildings, etc) will interupt a radar signal and therefore reduce the effectivness of your detector. Anyway, bring it in for testing to put your mind at ease.
  18. Hey fr0st, I have opened plently of unit and the size of the wave guide and design is always a dead giveaway to the potential performance of the unit... even before opening it you can usually tell from the weight of the unit... bigger antenna's=more weight. I only say potential because a lot has to do with the programing of the unit too. I have never actually changed antennas from different models or brands, but if you do it I could test it out for you. Basically, manufacturers will produce units to perform the best they can (at the time of manufacturing). Of course there will be low, mid and high spec units, and it is probably possible to switch an antenna from a high end unit to a low end unit, but whether the units software will run with it ?????? anyones guess?????? Good luck with the mods and let me know if you need a test done. OT time slip is in the mail!
  19. sold to bradpr32 pending payment
  20. I am the Asia/Pacific importer and distributor for Beltronics and if you have a issue with the unit that you think it might not be performing properly, just bring it in to me and I can test it for sensitivity on all bands and laser. check www.neltronics.com.au for office location and opening times. I use the BEL XR and it is the cream of the crop... best range and features (gotta plug my products in a thread like this)!!! Just so you hear it from the horse's mouth: There are no laws in WA against radar detectors, but there are federal laws against jammers of any kind (laser or radar). There was a big blow up about detectos at the begining of the year but with lobbying and lots of behind the scenes work, the dust has settled now, and it's no longer on the political agenda. P.S. Never think that your detector is as good as common sense... it will save you if your accidently over the speed limit, but if you want one to stop you from get land speed record tickets... your kidding yourself. Let common sense prevail
  21. I know my eyes aren't all they used to be but I was sure there was a post in the events area for another track day in early Dec??? Anyone know what happened to this event?

I would be more worried about the passenger side floor well unbolting and grinding underneith my car during a late night drag for slips
  23. Red Pivot shift light with variable RPM control box. Easy install - 4 wires (Power, Earth, Illumination, RPM from ecu) Good as new, full working order and if you can read Japanese there are even instructions! Can be used on 3,4,5,6 cylinder engines (from what I can gather from the diagram) Came with my 32GTR but it's not my bag baby! Cig-lighter version (not acurate) seen on eBay for over $110+freight. price $reasonable offers I can arrange delivery for what ever the post office charges but I would prefer pick-up so I know the buyer is happy Thanks Scotty
