  12. I have been told from a friend who cut his out, that the area for cutting was already stamped onto the reinforcement bar. Just save yourself the $$$ and cut them out yourself... NEATLY... perhaps even give the edges a go with a digrinder to make it all look shmicko. If something is to ever go wrong with an insurance claim (touch wood), then you can just say that the hole are a factory option reinforcement bar, and quote them the genuine nissan part number... surely they can't knock back a claim on a car on the basis that they do not agree with the structural integrity of a genuine part.
  13. If it was only 3 months ago, surely they will remember the car... I'm sure if you go in there and bat your eyelids at them they will work something out for you. Failing that just never wash the front of your car again.
  14. come on guys this is a serious problem... and i have a serious solution
  15. He came... I saw... Sillbeer kicked ass! Didn't see you at the stand when I wandered past but had a good look at what my monitor has been teasing me with... great to see it in real life and a well deserved trophy winner. Definately needs to be displayed on stands with the good old mirror squares underneith to show off the detail you have gone to with the running gear. I hope all goes well for the tune and run in.
  16. Happy Birthday Liz Doesn't time fly... it seems like just yesterday you were a whole year younger.

  18. Just had mine done on Friday... i guess take the timing cover off and look to see if the belt is factory or aftermarket... if its factory then its either original one, or they replaced it with a factory item... so then look to see if anything else there looks newish. I have a new water pump and 1x tensioner pully so thats how you'd spot mine.

  23. Hi All, Just thought I'd post a shameless plug for the good guys at Brakewest in Victoria. Brakewest is a brake and clutch specialist shop... not nessicarily high performance but they obviously know their two left peddels very well. I ordered a front and rear set of braided brake lines from Goran around lunchtime (WA time) and they were made up, sent, and arrived first thing this morning. They are excellent quality ADR approved lines made from stainless steel with a clear sheth over the top. They are pressure tested to 3000psi. I assume prices will vary from car to car (depending on fittings required), but my 32GTR set was $250.00 and $12.50 for express postage. Awesome service, quality product, good price... cant ask for more than that. BRAKEWEST
  24. What luck you are in!!! The twat that replaced the factory speakers in my car (before I installed new splits), did a super dodgey job and busted the factory speaker grille. It has never stayed in properly and today fell out completely. I have to remove the door trim to fix it permenantly, so I will take some pics of my modified factory plastic pods... all in the intrest of science of course.
  25. I hacked up the factory black plastic pod thing so that it had a flat face to it... 2 factory screw mounts were still there and mounted a 6mm MDF board up to the now flat face... Traced the 5" woofer and flush mount for the tweeter onto the MFD board (checking for possible depth issues)... Remove the MDF pannel and cut the holes... Re-mounted the MDF pannel and trial fit the speaker and tweeter... Add some resin (and fibreglass if needed) to bond the MDF to the plastic pod and also seal any gaps... Clean up any fibreglass dags and trial fit the finished product... Spray with matt black paint... Mount the complete pod and wire up... Enjoy... The benifit I gained from this install was that the factory plastic pods also doubled as the front wall of the door pockets so there is no way anything will find its way into my door. Also the factory mounts are angled so that the speakers face up towards your face rather than straight out into your leg... my speakers play into my ears now and not into my MASSIVE calf muscles! oh... and no, sorry I don't have any pics
