Ok Being being a noobie here, I did a search for this and couldn't find anything, recently bought a 4dr GTS4, and over the last few days I've started to hear what I can only describe as an elastic sounding creak coming from the drivetrain, increases and decreases with revs, does not seem to matter if I have the clutch in or not, only occurs when I'm moving. Seems to be getting louder too. Anyone have any ideas? I do have a warranty on the car, but I don't know how useful that will be seeing as what people normally say about them. thx in advance

Doesn't look as I'll get this one, as the dealer has told j-spec they can't inspect the vehicle atm, due to an "engine problem" which they haven't had the time to fix, they can check it after its been fixed though...... thats encouraging... not.

Those guages are stock in the s2 manual stagea, i think.

So from all accounts the driveline is pretty much bulletproof unless you start doing silly things , Just wondering as well, are there used by dates on other parts of the car so to speak? Ie does the suspension normally go at 180,000? brakes etc? I take it the HICAS lasts a long time usually? I have 4ws on my mx6 and I know mazda charges crazy money for a new rack, Is it the same with nissan? thx

thx for the responses. How rare is a manual Stagea anyway? How many k's do most of you guys have on your cars? Bit worried about the high mileage on the one im interested in.

Yeah well your 23ltr per 100km post scared me somewhat before

mazda mx6 2.5ltr v6. Was going to lower it put on 17's then perhaps put in a j-spec engine. But that's starting to get exxy considering its fwd, and performance isn't exactly crash hot. Thats why I'm considering my options atm.

Hi All Been reading up about the stagea the last few days, seems like quite a good car. I own a fwd coupe at the moment. I have the choice of spending a few thousand on this car, ie mags suspension etc. Or save up for the Stagea. I just have a few questions. I'm currently looking at a series 2 manual. I have heard the manual Series 2 stagea is better on fuel consumption than the series 1 auto, is this really the case. Is the series 2 much better on fuel than the series one.? Was wondering what figures series 2 owners were getting. I know if you can't pay for the fuel don't buy the car, still would like to know. How are these cars reliability wise? Anyway back to browsing edit: i'm in canberra btw
