ok,sorry i have not given full details. car is a r33 s2 (auto) Mods so far are a fmic, splitfire coils, hyflowed turbo, bosch 040, boost tee. if i was able to get close to 230 it would be ok.
-
ok, if i put a budget on this i would say that i would be prepared to spend 5k. as for get and go i would be looking for more than what i did have which was just over 210 rwkw.

just picked my car from the mechanic and he tells me that i have a cracked piston and rings, the car has been playing up for a little while. I was pretty sure it was on it's way out. now I know. the question now is do i rebuild it (what cost are rebuilds worth), or get a second hand motor. i am not trying to get the most powerful car out just want a car the has a bit of go there when i want it, Any advice would be great on this.

the car was on it's way to the track. had just put a hyflowed turbo, splitfires, boost controller, fmic, bosch 040 fuel pump and was ready to do the computer next, all these parts have all been on the car for about 3 weeks. boost was running at 9 psi until it was ready for a tune. guess i will have to look at rebulid before the computer now.

been having some problems with the car now for a little while now, have replaced and cleaned almost everything that was possible. Decided to to a compression test to see if there might be a answer to what was going on. #1 130 psi #2 130 psi #3 130 psi #4 130 psi #5 70 psi #6 130 psi this seems to be not a good sign. i guess that it is time to pull apart the motor and rebuild it. What would some costs be for something like this. I don't want to go all out just to make a good reliable motor. if any one can point me in the right direction that would be of great help.

took the car to the local nissan shop today, They had told me last week that they could look at the car and see what the problem might be. Guess what. They refused to look at the car at all and said i would be on my own in fixing this problem. His reason was that he was worried that they would not be able to find out what it might be and that they were happy to take my money and not fix it. (they have seen the car before, he nows what it is and has ordered parts for it before) Dumb shits. anyone please, can you help

to ad to this i have a standard bov and it has been checked and it is not leaking (new base gasket) I have also removed and cleaned the AAC

to begin i have a r3 s2 (auto, 103000k on the spedo) the problem is when it have the car in gear and come to a corner with the brakes on the cars starts to run rough (close to stalling). I have taken it to a couple of the local mechanics to get it solved but with no luck. (live in a small country town not much here) The car has been serviced every 5000k, list of parts that have been changed so far are O2 sensor fuel filter spark plugs coil packs afm fuel pump (bosch 040) Auto was serviced at 100000k timing belt (gates) tensioners all fan belts as you can see it is starting to become a bit of a spend on all these parts If anyone has any possible ideas it would really help out.
-
little loss in power while under load and a full synthetic, not sure of what brand it was.
-
Yes the car does drive normal
-
when the car clicked over 100k it was serviced, new timing belt (gates) & tensioners put in. Also to a further post tha auto has been fully serviced aswell. (new fliud and bands tightened)

it is a standard bov and seems to be working ok. I got a new gasket for it and sealed it with a bit of silicon to make sure there are not leaks around the base.
-
to add to this i did have 2 boken studs when the problem started, I have since replaced all the studs and have put all new gaskets in, It has made no difference to the car at all.
-
engine is the original one and has travelled 103k, i don't have a compression tester to give it a try.

I have a r33 s2 (auto) I have a problem that is really giving me the shits. problem is that when i put it in gear it drops in revs almost to the point where it stalls. this has only just started last week. It idles good at around 800 to 900 rpm, I have cleaned gthe AFM (and tried another one),cleaned the AAC, New plugs, Split fire coil pack which would be roughly 10 months old, replaced all the vacumm lines (thinking it was a leak in the lines), new fuel filter, auto was serviced 6 months ago and all new fluid was put in (levels are good) I have been reading possible problems that it might have been, This is why i have cleaned and replaced all that i can think offf. If any one might be able to shed any light on this it would help me out heaps

found the whistle, it was a pin hole in a silicon hose joiner. but it still has a bit of a miss while in gear. (auto gearbox).

Hey i need some help, I have 2 problems that have got me stuffed (car is a R33 S2 auto, mods are a fmic, turbo smart boost t, splitfire coil packs & a hypergear hyflowed turbo) the first problem is a really loud whistling sound when it is on boost ( i have replaced all the studs, nuts, and all gaskets, i am using the braided oil line thai came with the turbo) the second problem is that if the car is in gear it feels like it has a slight miss. it does not do it if it is in nuetral. I have checked all the sensors and connections that are i am able to get to. This problem has onlt started since yesterday afternoon. if anyone has any idea on what i can do to fix these it would be great

Just after some information on the link ecu's. I have a r33 s2 (auto) and have been looking at getting a good ecu upgrade. I have had mikcrotech lt12s and found it a pain to get tuned. (mainly because not many tuners had the knowledge). Are they a good option or is there something else that i could look at. I have looked at the Nistune option but to do something for the r33 seems to be a problem. any help with this would very greatful.

Unsure About Steel Or Ceramic Rear Wheel
newboost replied to R33 pearl orange's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sorry I don't have a picture of a stock ceramic turbo. This is a picture of my hyflowed turbo from Hypergear. It has a larger wheel and the housing is machined out for it to fit. -
This is one of those subjects that seem to go around and around. What I am trying to find out is how has one, what brand is it, how much did it cost, and was it really worth the money. All that i need is the facts not wild claims.
-
did not now that this was going on so I thought that I better put a pic of mine up. R33 s2. simpy mods are fmic, turboback exhaust, hyflowed turbo & turbo smart boost tee.
-
i have replaced all the hose clamps and silicone hose's,all the vacum hoses and have checked the gaskets and nothi ng is leaking. Oil is changed every 5k. it makes constant boost and is not loosing power. this turbo has always made this sound and now i have just got to a point were it is starting to piss me off. the turbo has only done 20k. help
-
I did use the braided line and there are no leaks

i have a r33 s2 auto and have changed the turbo over to a hypergear hyflowed turbo. when it gets on boost above 6psi it sounds like a huge whistling sound coming from it ?????? Mods so far are fmic, full 3" exhaust split fire coils and a turb o smart boost tee. I have cheched the gaskets and intercooler pipes and have got no leaks anywhere. This has become a bit of a problem some times because that is all you can here when it gets a bit of psi. does anyone else have this problem or is it normal??
