Working Sunday. Maybe next time. -
Cool thanks for that, i might make a CAI partition on the weekend ... With the HKS POD, i have never oiled it, should i? and what oil do i get to do it?
-
I got pulled over the other day, police said pop the bonnet, so i did. They told me they were gonna send out an EPA request or whatever to my house. I have a HKS Air Pod filter, and a 3" Cat back zorst. They told me the the filter has to be covered, not allowed to be in the enginebay uncovered. The police dude had a soarer TT btw. Is this true? do i have to make a CAI partition to pass the EPA? Cheers.

I was told by a mechanic once that the 300zx is a b14tch to work on, the engine is a mess and takes ages to do simple maintenace. And someone else told me that the 300zx was just made for the USA market, nothing really special, BUT, i've never been in one so dont listen to me Get a GTS-T, i've had mine for 6+ months, had no dramas at all. I think the Series II, 1996+ looks much nicer too, inside and out.

I am pretty sure the police have to pull you over, i've driven past them doing 3,4,5 over the limit and never got a ticket. I think they wait for someone doing more than just a few K's, then on come the lights and you'll get a ticket. Cos they could pull you over for doing 64 in a 60 zone, thats gonna take 10-15 mins to pull you over, give you the ticket, tease you with a possible cannary, in the meantime, someone flys past at 75....or 100. Also the police are more tolerent. The council, ie Fixed camera's, plain cars with a flash in front of them, allow only 5% whereas the police alow 10%. they are a bit more tolerent. PS, not sure if those figures are accurate.

If its a cop on the side of the road with a radar gun, he has to pull you over and give you a ticket. Only fixed cameras will send you a ticket in the post.

My mate had this advert in a bike mag, that would flip your plate around and wash it by pressing a button. That would be handy, if your quick enough to hit the button that is.

I went and got one of the pocket insert from Nissan, cost me about $31. Then when i got my stereo installed then next day at JB, they had the same nissan insert for like $20. Oh well. Its great, got more room to put things, free's up your drink holder. Only problem i have, when my phone, stereo remote etc are in it, i launch hard at the lights, EVERYTHING ends up in the back seat, lol it looks amazing, everything flys in a straight line, over the center console and lands in the back seat.

Hi all, I remeber a thread about a week ago about ABS. Now someone mentioned an ABS light on the dash. I have a 96 SII GTST, which apparently has ABS. On the Japanese auction report mentions ABS, etc, etc. Now, i have no ABS light i can see come on. I have HICAS, ENGINE, Etc, etc. Is there any way I can check if it has abs without slamming the breaks on while driving? anyone got a photo of the abs module in the engine bay? Cheers, Ace.

I am not sure, a mechanic (Dr_Drift) fixed it for me.
-
Fixed, Problem was dirty contacts in Ign/Fuel Circuit.

Thanks for your advice. I will get it towed to a mechanic today and hopefully its just something simple. Thanks, Ace.

Yeah, it wasnt as powerful as it should have been. It didnt feel like i should have driven it either, but i had to keep going, and it kept going. I'll look at the fan, but i dont think thats the problem. I left the car where i pulled up so i cant check this stuff out till later tonight. but i am going to get it towed, again, to the mechanic tomorrow and get it sorted out. I just signed up for RACV, so i'll get them to come out and look at it tomorrow for me. Gotta wait 24 hrs. I am guessing its not a good idea to drive it to the mechanic. Cheers again.

It is a manual. It wasnt from taking off in the wrong gear. It was a constant thing. I also got it serviced about a month ago and got the spark plugs replaced. Cheers

Hi All, I was driving this morning when my car started to play up. It is a 96 Series II GTS-T, only mods are Zaust and HKS air filter. Basically is slowed down approaching a set of lights, then accelerated as they changed, not hard, very gentle, when the engine seemed to start vibrating or shaking. I could feel it through the peddles and gear knob and it sounded bad. i had to keep driving for a little bit and it slowly got worse. I only drove about 1km. Any ideas what might be wrong, anyone had a similar problem. My first guess was one of the spark plugs was missing. But I really dont know much about cars.. i am learning though. Any help would be great. Cheers, Ace.

Cheers Igsta and Ozzy, I jacked up the car and let about 3-4 liters out of the sump. Seems there was more oil in the car at the beginning than i thought. I will get a full service in the next week or two, after easter, and get the filter changed then. Do you know if they give the car a full service when it is complianced? I am just wondering if the oil that was in the car was new or if it was what was in it in Japan. Anyways, the car seemed to run alot smoother after doing this so I am happy at least . Raver_Ace

Hi All, This is my first post. So double hello to everyone. I feel like a bit of a nob, but... I just got a 96 gtst. I decided to fill the oil up this morning after checking it and it was almost empty. I poured all 5L of the oil in and there was probably about 1L already in the car. Is this going to damage the car if i start it and drive it. Should i try to drain some oil out of the sump. Thanks, Acer.
