I couldn't be happier, such a great car. You don't feel gear changes and the car just keeps pulling. very decieveing car indeed.
-
I vouch for J-spec 100%, got my 35 through them and couldn't be happier. Craig sure knows how to calm a nervous customer down. Next import I buy will be through them. If your nervous at all about the import process and want to talk to someone who did it recently for the first time just message me and I'll give you my number. I don't think I could ever buy locally again!
-
The monkey has spoken... put me down for vol.89 and let me know about any other v35 magazines availabe and I'll take them to.
-
Here's all the pages from a supra one supra hyperRev I wish they had a v35 specific one

Hey guys Just wondering what the pick is out of JBL and mtx or are they much the same. I didn't want to splash out and go the real high end gear but want to spend a bit more than say your pioneer or kenwoods. I'm talking speakers subs and amps.. Lastly, what do you guys think of installs at places like wow, strathfield of JB?
-
did you get a 350gt-8 tooly? C'mon shanye mate hurry up and join the club buddy!
-
It ain't an import but its damn fine efijy concept
-
I think the cima 300gs start at about 30k for a cheap one right up to 60k for a 450vip. Massive difference in the same model hey. I saw one when I picked up my car from compliance, pure luxury inside. The vibrating seats get me.

Hey all v35 owners, just wondering if the key that unlocks your drivers side door is the same as the one that starts your car. The key that unlocks my drivers side door flips out like a pocket knife and has what appears to be ball bearings in it (but a normal looking key for the ignition). I should also mention this key is not digital. Its a chrome metal key. I'm trying to figure out if its an aftermarket item or stock.

VQ35DE (NEO) type V 6 cylinder DOHC with an X toroid CVT 8 speed transmission. It's more than worthy of the skyline name and is totally different to a maxima. I parked mine next to a maxima the other day and they look totally different.
-
Should also point out (in case anyone cares), skizo did some research and found out I have the aero package on my car (which I have yet to see on another 350gt) Check it here: 350gt-8 aero pack

Where can I find insurance for my import?
kleenbeats replied to PranK's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'm 23 and drive a v35 - 350gt-8. I pay $1300 a year. Just car was a bit cheaper but they wanted to insure me 10 grand less than shannons and were stricter about mods. -
Sunshine Coast Mechanics, Know Of Any Decent Ones?
kleenbeats replied to kleenbeats's topic in Queensland
Haha very true I got my car through J-spec. Was sitting at my computer one day and I got an email from them (am on the mailing list) with my car on it. By the end of the day it was mine. I can't reccomend J-spec more highly! -
Sunshine Coast Mechanics, Know Of Any Decent Ones?

Yelp I gave him a call and had a good chat for about 20 minutes, he sounds like a top bloke. I'm going to swing by on thursday and have a chat with him. I'm extremely happy I've found a good mechanic (with import experience) close by. He did say say he's got connections in Japan, so no probs sourcing anything. Hhhmm what to get first... haha. Why do I feel like owning this car is going to be a costly experience -
Man I'm stupid, finally figured it out. All the pics I keep seeing of the 350gt-8 are the 2001/2002 models. Mine is a 2003 and has had a few changes. I found this on the nissan global site: Skyline Sedan Undergoes Minor Model Change Among the refinements made to the Skyline Sedan this time, the 2WD models now have higher spring rates, shock absorbers with approximately 30% greater damping force and larger-diameter stabilizer bars for better control of body motions, compared with the previous models, and thereby deliver a tauter driving feel. In addition, braking performance has been enhanced by adopting a braking system incorporating high-performance sport brake pads with an increased friction coefficient and highly rigid brake rotors with an outstanding heat radiation characteristic. The exterior design projects a sharper impression than before as a result of applying a smoky chrome finish to the grille and headlamp inner panels and changing the sill color from gray to black. At the rear, the car badge and Skyline emblem have been repositioned to give the rear-end a wider look. On the inside, the audio and heater control switches have been embellished with a chrome accent for a higher quality image, and the 250GT and 250GT FOUR models are provided with rear-seat air-conditioner vents for enhanced occupant comfort. The grade selection has also been reorganized as part of this minor model change. <Major specification and equipment refinements> Exterior Repositioning of the rear car badge and Skyline emblem Refinement of the design of the radiator grille, headlamp inner panels and sills Addition of Sparkling Silver Metallic and Rose Red Pearl as new body colors for a choice of six attractive colors altogether Interior Refinement of the control switch design Adoption of sun visor extensions Addition of a light to the front-seat vanity mirrors Adoption of a double-pivot rear-view mirror Expanded application of rear-seat air-conditioner vents to the 250GT and 250GT FOUR models Mechanisms Refinement of the suspension and braking system

I'm just starting to realise all the different things about my 350gt

Sunshine Coast Mechanics, Know Of Any Decent Ones?

thanks for all the advice guys, I'm going to give marty a call tommorrow. Cheers all! -
haha sorry mate, I just couldn't wait for my old car to start any longer, buying a new one would get me moving quicker. Yeah I was shocked when I first hoped into it, didn't expect it to be so luxurious. Full leather and suede with hand stitched leather around the paddles. Full electircs with all the weird and wonderful jap extras (like the emergency boot release just incase you lock yourself in. You may have to wear glasses at night cause its like a bloody christmas tree, haha The back seats are extremely roomy and carried my two big maori cousins on a day trip with ease. I really really wish I could get that TV/dvd working, its such a tease, I get sound but no vision. One thing I don't understand is why the japs would not have an option to view the car info (through the monitor) in english. Like you can choose a language when you start a dvd. They have pumped so much stuff into these cars why not that?. Even though its japanese you can figure out what the meaning is (like the graph that shows you how many kms you average per litre). If you get one expect to have hoons hanging out there window checking the ride and trying to drag you at every possibility because they've seen the word "skyline" on the back of something that looks more like a lexus than a nissan. Old guys asking you what it is and having a coronary when you tell them its and 8-speed. I've even had a lady in here 60s come up to me and say its the best 4 door shes ever seen. Weird car, truelly does have all round appeal, see one in real life and you'll know what I mean. If you can get one in black..DO IT!, its a bitch to keep clean but it looks mad stealth

well I haven't seen to many of the gt8s around (but I haven't looked really hard). None have been over 30k and all have been in very good condition. Here's an example of one other I've seen for sale from j-spec http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=7672 I've been on the jspec mailing list for over a year and within two hours of getting the email the car was available I brought it. After paying them, paying japan, customs, compliance and all on road costs it worked out to be around the 25 mark (so everything except insurance - which is $1300 through shannons for the record... I'm 23 by the way). You can pick up the 250s or the 300s pretty cheap (closer to 20 grand). Yelp coupes are around the 40mark.
