3sfe/S53, original motor and box, odometer reads 185,xxx km
I bought the car nearly 7 months ago and have put less than 10,000 km on it.
Since purchasing it I have replaced the clutch with a heavy duty Excedy clutch (less that 100km) along with the front and rear engine mounts. At the same time a high pressure hose from the power steering re-furbished over at ENZED to fix a power steering leak and the fuel filter was replaced.
When I bought it I replaced the oil and filter, new NGK spark plugs and threw on a new K&N pod filter.
The car has an immaculate, black interior (wool seat covers!). It has never been smoked in, ever. Previous owner had the car resprayed a few years prior to selling so the paint is excellent and there is no rust. The car has 11 months of rego. The car starts first time, doesn't use any oil (or leak any either), the brakes work well and the tyres are in fair condition. The car is essentially in immaculate condition for it's age.
So why am I selling it?
When having the clutch replaced I spied what appears to be a small leak between the head and the block which is allowing coolant to escape slowly.
The leak in no way affects the performance or efficiency of the engine but it is obviously something that needs to be fixed. The car starts and drives fine, maintains correct operating temp (even when waiting 20 minutes on the ramp going into the central markets last friday night! - yeesh).
I've considered having the head gasket replaced (I'm not mechanically skilled enough, nor do I have the time to learn, to fix it) or swaping the engine out for a 3sge as is commonly done. Unfortunately, I don't have the money for either of these two avenues so I have opted to sell.
I'm open to offers but at this point am aiming for better than $3000. May consider a swap (if you're in Adelaide) and am tentatively looking for a good condition 1jzgte complete + auto trans.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading and I look forward to getting some posts. Feel free to call (After 8AM and before 9PM any day) with questions etc.
Cheers,
Peter
