  1. Wire tucking, daaammmmmiiiittttttt there's another job
  2. The mrs said exactly the same thing yesterday Ive only got the brakes to do and that will be it for the powdercoating, I was going to do the alternator and a few other bits and pieces but I think enough is enough, I'm getting a bit bogged down with getting the engine "looking" right and it got to a point over the weekend where it has started to annoy me. I miss driving the car and just want to get it running now so it's all going back together. I think the overall look will still look good but there Re other things thT are more important that need doing lime getting the new front bar cut to fit the FMIC and and then painting it and the bonnet. Had a few dramas with the plazmaman over the weekend, I had no port for the pcv valve so I had to drill and tap a dummy port in so it looks connected. Then discovered yesterday the plumback port on the plazmaman BOV was too small (22mm instead of 32) and wouldn't mate up with the return pipe. The after sales support from these guys is beyond belief, I called them yesterday and told them I need a bigger port and am missing a nipple for the pcv and a courier was on my doorstep at 6:30am this morning with the extra bits I needed at no charge. IMO that is gold customer service. Hey Dave do you still want the old rotors? I'll try and get them off this week or on the weekend for you if your keen??
  3. Yep, started in November and am still going Sorry to go off topic folks
  4. Jeez rub it in, all you show offs with your working cars lol
  5. Fair enough just wish my car wasn't still in pieces, I miss driving it. Can't wait for the 2835 goodness
  6. Hey 75coupe you should drop into my place to see some of craved's handiwork, you drive past my driveway so if your keen let me know.
  7. Sorry guys, I know I said I will send you the lenses and surrounds a couple of weeks ago but I still haven't been able to pick up my front bar as yet. I still intend on donating a set but if somebody can supply psi before I can then go for it. My apologies psi
  8. Oooo ooooo, my car might be finished in time and I can finally do the pass in something other than the work truck. Fingers crossed
  9. Thanks guys, I'd hate to see how long it would take me to do a full rebuild lol Ive run out of bevvies in can form so I'm gonna have to get the mrs to mix me up a jug every couple of hours I just had a thought, wonder how much all the powdercoating weighs???? Chris?????
  10. Ok, just a heap of pics at the moment as Im just about to go out into the garage and attack it for another night. Coated runners And installed Dummy fitting of the plazmaman I also bought this billet coil cover from Powerhouse Racing (Thanks Joe) in the states, it is vented and can be powdercoated so with the AUD at the moment I couldnt pass it up. As I said above still heaps more pics in the camera and the turbo is on, but im gonna take it back off tonight and put a thicker gasket on as the one that comes with the kit is crap and dosent look like its sealing. The cam and front covers are with Craved at the moment as well as the fuel rail as we have come up with a nice red combination that looks better than the metalcast and will be better wearing. When I pick them up (Next week?) ill give him the brake calipers to be done in the same colour. More updates when I can
  11. Yeah I hear you mate, TIME is something there just isn't enough of nowadays. I'm trying to finish a build that should've taken me a couple of weeks and it's ran into months now.
  12. How'd you get yours apart? I gather a bit of heat to loosen everything up? Hopefully it will work out affordable enough for psi to make the whole unit so it's a direct swap, would be nice and easy that way
  13. Ok, I'll get my butt into gear and get one for you.
  14. Hahahahaaaaaa, nice bump. I do have heaps of pics to post up but any spare time I've had I've been working on the car, haven't even looked at the computer for a few weeks. Yeah been at it, just got the turbo in.......man the coolant return is a bitch, lost a bit of skin getting to that little bracket behind the head. I'm thinking of taking the turbo back off and putting a better gasket on it though. The one hks supplies is very thin and flimsy and I swear there is about a 1mm gap between the ex mani and the turbo. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. The plazmaman will go on tomorrow night and the radiator Sunday night. I've gotta order a heap of silicone joins in red now that I know what I need. That's the plan anyway, never works out that way when you've got young kids lol And Chris keep a bit more of the grey can ya, I'll bring the power steering reservoir bracket down when I drop off the brakes.
  15. I find the same thing with white wheels on a darker colour like my red, if my rims are dirty the whole car looks dirty.
  16. Haha Mark I was looking at your ride the other day when it was unigroup. Yeah sure it's anti bling but the giveaway is the highmount and the lack of back seat Nice ride man Yeh Arthur got it ceramic coated, it was cheap but can't tell you the exact price as I got a heap of stuff do e at the same time and just handed Chris the money. I don't even ask him how much something will cost anymore as I know he looks after the SAU people. I just turn up with a box of parts and tell him I'll see him next week lol
  17. Hahahahaa! You sadist
  18. Show off with ya fancy colours now your just gonna confuse him! Do you reckon the metalcast would still purple up even with the base coat? not trying to push it cause you know I've been converted just curious. Edit: BTW Arthur I "think" Chris can do the crinkle look powdercoating anyway
  19. Yep metalcast ftw, have alook in my build thread dude, every thing that is red is metalcast. If you can't find it let me know and I'll send you some pics. You have a silver base coat than a candy on top. My covers went an orange tinge after a couple of years but the rail held up well. Having said that Craved is currently powdercoating all my rail and covers cause it's tougher. I've also done the runners and plazmaman and if they mask up the bits where the inj goes in It will be fine.
  20. +3 for copy of original, do you still need the whole surround Shane or are you sorted
  21. Red, do the fuel rail as well and the stut top brace bar grey or black. Then it will match the arc box. Also don't forget the little things lime the radiator brackets etc Edit: do the plenum and IC piping grey as well (all gloss though)
  22. Yeah a better run than Cattai ridge mate, I'm sure a big group should be left alone:) have fun
  23. Guys don't let it worry you I just wanted to let you know about him. I mean in ten years of owning my line he has never pulled me up and it's far from stock sounding. But he has gotten a few friends and defected two friends wives for mags so maybe I've been lucky. I reckon if you all stick together and no one acts like a but monkey you'll be sweet. Hey you may not even see him at all. Better to be duly warned than get a surprise. Once you hit Cattai Ridge Road you out of range Keep an eye out for a really sad looking guy standing at the top of his driveway with his SAU lanyard waving...........it will be me wishing I could be there
  24. I'd love to come but I think the 33 will be to hard to push the whole way, my build is taking too long. Guys as a local of Dural/Arcadia please watch out for the green commodore that does laps of old northern road between round corner on glenorie. He is (un) affectionately known as "captain canary" and will pull you over if you fart at the wrong time. He has even pulled over some of my friends wives in there 4wd's because they have mag wheels. Just a friendly warning
  25. Jeez Terry you just brought back some memories, my first car was a 1969 datto 1600. 1.8 litre rebuilt and bored out to a whopping 1910cc, side draft webber (48mm I think) 240k gearbox which used to confuse all my mates cause reverse is where 1st should be. Stanza seats and a plywood console with a oil AND water temp gauge wow I remember it had one of those pop up aftermarket sunroofs that use to bucket water onto me when it rained. Dunno if I have any photos I'll have to have a look. Man I loved that car, coincidentally it's was the same colour as my current 33. Jeez I got up to no good in that thing on the dirt roads. I lost something on the back seat that I'll never find again Good times
