Yours is looking good Arthur, but what happened with all the sanding?.....hehehe
-
You could do all the piping silver/chrome/polished and then as close as possible gun matal grey for the covers. Either powdercoated or use the metalcast grey (if you can get it) Just my opinion but I've always thought the cam covers look better if they are the same colour (or close) as the body colour, depending on the colour of the car like white on white would look funny know what I mean. Arthur I can't post pics from my phone can you chuck up that engine bay pic I sent you as an example?
-
Stop posting pics and coat my rotors Looks good Chris, at this rate you will have Craved on the road before GR33DD sees the light of day
-
Ok I'll have a look at the book and send you a few scans, might take a couple of days though ok?

What do you need guys, I have the English translated workshop manual at home let me know what specifically you are after. D

Cant go wrong with Yavuz, Ive even had him tell me he wasnt going to let me take my car home for another day because he was not 100% happy with a part of the tune over a 300 rpm rev range between 4000 and 4300 rpm...........no really You get what you pay for

Caliper Adaptor/dogbones
DaveO74 replied to 32TAXI's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
+1 I bought the GTR brake upgrade kit from UAS, Dogbones, 324mm 2 peice curved vein slotted rotors for around $800. I reckon thats a good price for a budget upgrade. From what Ive been told by John and a few others (And I am no expert so please correct me if Im wrong) the 33 Sumitomos are more than adequate for this setup on a MILD street/track car and has very noticable extra stopping power campared to stock with better cooling capacity because of the extra surface area so less fade. Im not sure wether the 32 and 33 calipers are the same but you can pick up a set of 33 GTST calipers dirt cheap, chuck a seal kit through them and bobs your uncle. IMO this is a good budget setup if your not running BIG power. Unfortunately I have not put mine on the car yet so I cany comment on real world results but it gets you a lot of brake compared to stock from sitting them side by side. -
Dam I wish we could get this kind of stuff for the 33 GTST
-
Good going Ryan, It must be a good feeling bettering your times consistently! I need to get me some good semis, might have to stick with street legal ones though as I only have 1 set of rims................for now

I'll give him a buzz tonight Chris and I'll ask him and let you know. I'm back tomorrow so I hope he will let me drop it down. He reckons it should be an easy fix as such just not a easy as I thought cause of the spread if that makes sense. Ive got to give you a call too about that heat dissipating stuff, Ive been thinking about things you could coat with it. Rotors and radiator are a given, oil cooler rad? Can we do the exhaust mani heatshield and the hks heat shield in it as well or will it not stay on? Arthur, hahahahahaaaaaaa Sorry mate I couldn't resist. I started mine off the same way with "just a tidy up". Forget the polishing though mate that's a mugs game, everything in my bay that is not red was done by Craved if you don't mind me suggesting just take of the cast marks and get him to powdercoat it. Looks awesome and is soooooo easy to keep clean. Pm me if you want extra details and info on how to prep stuff for him of you like.
-
Get it fixed Matty, another six months and I would have been in big trouble apparently. And yeah I know a deadline is bad, just wanna get back on a track!!!!!! Yep Scotty it is a nice dump pipe, inside is a bit rough though so Craved is gonna clean it ip for me before he coats it as my die grinder is too big. That guy is a legend.

R33 Gtst - New Front Pads And Rotors - On A Budget
DaveO74 replied to PuppaDuck's topic in New South Wales
Yavuz would be 45mins-1hr tops from the centre of Sydney mate. Hardly a long way when you think about it, he will have the car for at least a day anyway and is about 5mins from girraween station. Well worth it IMO. -
Thanks Eric, Got a quote yesterday from a reputable panel beater out here in the hills district, more than I would of liked but it's a bit worse than it looks. The rust is also into the rear panel a bit so not just a plate job. Better to fix it properly now than pay for it later on. So it's booked in Monday week to get fixed. Wouldve liked it done sooner but I need to go away for work again so thems the brakes. Im trying to make a deadline of the next wakie day for every thing to be finished bur I dunno wether I'll make it yet, you gonna make it Eric or have other........cough...........priorities gotten in the way?

Thought I'd add a couple of pics of some random parts while I have a spare 5 minutes 42mm Alloy Radiator, Big thanks to Duncan HKS 2835 Pro S I took the rear housing off of it tonight and it and the dump is getting coated in black ceramicoat tomorrow by Craved PSI Parts R33 GTST Carbon Fibre Air Guide Ill ad some pics of the Plazmaman Plenum and all the pipe work when I get it back from Chris with the turbo parts, its getting coated in the same silver/chrome type colour as the standard plenum in my first post. And some rust I found in the boot when I took out my spare, lucky I decided to sound proof the boot or I would never have found it. Im off to the local panel beaters tomorrow to get a qoute. I think its just a matter of cutting it out and welding in a plate, wish I knew how to weld Just a little update, more to come shortly

Hahaha, exactly Terry. I forgot all about the subs it's been so long. I've done such a good job of keeping the car noise out of the cabin that I dunno wether I want to go backwards for the sake of a bit of bass that will ultimately produce rattles and vibrations???? Maybe I should just pit some good 6x9's in the back for the extra bass
-
Thanks for the kind words I was wondering wether I overdid it as I was kind of winging it!! Correct me if I'm wrong cause I am in no way well educated with car sound but wouldn't removing the rears kind of make things sound uneven? Maybe I'll just chuck the box in and see how it goes, no biggy as I have it here anyway and it does have two of the port thingys built in. I might be able to rig something up to get the ports comming out at the parcel tray what do you think? GTRPowa, forgot to mention earlier when you mentioned soundproofing the boot as well, I will definately be doing it. That's the good thing about the foam, it ways bugger all. I bought around 7metres of the 10mm and 5.5m of the 5mm and all up it widths less than 5kg. For example the two front doors in the proper stuff is heavier that the entire car lined in foam including a second layer inside the front doors.
-
Thanks mate but that's the problem, the area between the cabin and the boot is already soundproofed and the foam has been stuck on to the bit behind the back seat with contact adhesive.....bloody strong stuff that will never let go. Im just unsure wether I have blocked out too much of noise that will come from the boot to make the subs usefull
-
I am currently undertaking a big overhaul of my 33 GTST and part of that has been adding a new interior. While I had everything out I decided I may as well do all the soundproofing I have read so much about and well......went a little crazy and have pretty much covered every space I can think of within the cabin including the roof lining and behing the back seat. The only thing is I have mostly used 10mm closed cell sound proofing foam (Except for the front doors which has both foad and proper dynamat)and this has been glued onto the car using contact adhesive so it will NOT come off IMO. Some pics so you can see what I am talking about Now I am at the stage of cleaning up the boot and decised to line it in the foam as well because believe it or not it actuall does kill off a LOT of road noise. My mrs reminded my that I have two 12" subs in a box in our spare room which although almost brand new have been sitting around for about 7 years. They are nothing special but I thought they would add an extra bit of bass/low down sound if I was to throw them in the boot (With extra amp of course) As I am really not that well educated with car stereo stuff could the knowledgeable people around here please advise me as to wether I am wasting my time because of all the extra soond proofing between the boot and the cabin (back seat area)puuting the subs in the boot. Will I actually be able to hear them or have I sound proofed myself into a corner so to speak. Thanks D
-
Thanks for the words of support guys, im not getting to spend as much time on it as I would like but it's slowly getting there. I found a little bit of rust in the boot tonight which I'm not to happy about. It's in the common spot where the spare sits and is about the size of a 50 cent coin. I'll drop down to the local panel beaters next week and get it cut out. No biggy just an annoying. The engine parts are booked in with craved next week to get the coatings done so I'll be starting on the engine bay pretty soon.
-
That is good news Eric, seems as though no long term problems will come about. I'm happy for you mate, nerve damge sucks and is so frustrating at times having limited movement. My wife calls me zoolander cause sometimes I just can't turn right...hahaha At least that is one less thing you will need to worry about. Now let's get this car fixed

Anyone Had Stalling Issues Running A 3" Intake On A 4" Turbo?
DaveO74 replied to Harey's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey disco it appears that although Harey and I have the same turbo we have slightly different dump pipes. Do you know anything regarding the hks dumps, as in was there a revised edition with a slight design change?
