  1. Ok guys thought Id add an update. I went to my tuners today to use his hand controller cause I know it works with my PFC (new one has been ordered) On the check sensors screen all is good except for the Exhaust temp sensor which read 0.1v and was highlighted. BUT he then showed me how the pin for the ex sensor (pin 33) was out as he did it a while back when he first installed the pfc cause he thought that was the problem. So we put the a/c on and presto the light goes out and the exhaust temp sensor reading goes into normal range. Now it makes no difference if the pin is in or out so thats why he has left it out to rule out that part of the equation. He also said he swaped over the CAS and CAM pins when he installed the PFC as the car wouldnt start so he found out about the emu pin swap from the pin diagram (he has limited experience with the EMU and he does not intend to gain any, haha) Now this may be a coincidence but on the way home from his workshop after about 20mins of normal driving the light went out again (pretty normal as nothing seems to trigger it either way, its very random) but I did notice I could hear my walbro all of a sudden and the idle got the slightest bit better as in lost the old skyline/PFC, tiny not quite a miss on idle thing. Seemed to raise idle by maybe 100rpm max too. Now as I said this may be coincidence cause im finding i am concentrating on every little thing in the car at the moment trying to sus this out. I dunno, if my car was getting tuned by some of the other shit workshops around Id be a bit sus but Yavuz from Unigroup is honestly probably one of the best tuners in Oz for the PFC and he is very thorough so I dont think he is making excuses. I trust him 100% with my car. We are thinking we might send the PFC off to get checked out for something faulty next up and if it comes back all clear then its a wiring issue. Anybody feel like letting me use there pfc for 5 mins to see if it does the same thing with thiers? Now forgive the noob question but as Ive been reading and researching so much over the last few days I cant remember if a) you can monitor the fuel pump on the H/C??? and b) what is the voltage trick for a Walbro??? setting it at a constant 12v or something or other. Wouldve been nice to have a H/C on hand when I noticed the last bit but it should be here soon. Feedback peeps??
  2. Sweet, thanks Paul

  4. Has anybody mentioned Craved?????????? Some of his work on my bay, you can almost see your face on the plenum
  5. No worries Trent, hey you would know this, as I said in the pm I sent you my hc is not the right one for my PFC, will that new EL commander work with ANY version of gtst PFC? Cause I'll order one tomorrow. I'll also drop into my tuners and find out exactly what voltage it was that spikes when the ac is turned on
  6. Ok, I've had a look through my old emanage installation booklet and I assume the wire change/swap is done on the emanage harness and not on the gtst's (or cars) harness if that makes sense. Could someone with an emanage ultimate who installed it themselves confirms this for me so I can eliminate that theory. Cheers
  7. Wouldn't happen to know the pin number would you?
  8. nope all is good according to the hc
  9. Yeh I know what your saying GT, it was actually a suggestion from Yavuz just go see if anybody has had this kind of issue with a PFC before cause he's never seen it. I spose I could send it away go be checked out and see if it has a faulty chip/wiring etc but he also sId he has had mixed results with that as well. Always the way eh, as you know it took me sooooo long to get one and now it's playing up. The main reason we want to sort it out is as soon as my datalogit turns up we are going E85 so although "just" a light I'd prefer to have an ecu that is in perfect working order for swithing maps and what not to avoid any possible corruption of data. Buuuuuut if like you said it dosent work 100% of the time maybe I should look at something like Vipec or Haltech, depends on Yavuz wants to tune. I might send you a pm later about the iner workings and viabilty of the vipec on my setup of your up for it? Ta
  10. It is an r33 rb25 PFC (was thizzles old one) to honest I can't remember which voltage it was. My hc isn't compatible with my version of the PFC so I'm waiting on a new one. Yavuz did check all the obvious things like afm o2 blah blah and said theywere all fine. That's what has got us stumped. All the "normal" things came up ok. You know yourself guilt-toy, yavuz is VERY thorough with these things
  11. Ah ok thanks Paul I'll try it. I did read the FAQ but didn't have a play with the emulator. I'm a newb when it comes to playing around with ecu's and have always thought it best left to the pros if I wasn't sure what I was doing
  12. No worries Trent thanks. I figured you would probably have 11ty million messages after your trip away.
  13. Hey Peeps I could do with some different opinions on this one I used to run a EMU (E-Manage Ultimate) on my 33 gtst and have since changed over to a PFC as I felt it would be a better option for me. Any way I ran the GTR plug n play N-4 harness which required the wire swap as shown but I didnt do the swap myself i left it up to crd when they installed and tuned it. Since I have been running the PFC my new tuner has had a problem with the engine check light staying on and have tried just about everything to get to the bottom of it and i was just wondering if any of you could tell me if the wire swap for the emu would be done on the actual cars harness or are they swapped on the N-4 harness??? My tuner (Yavuz, Unigroup) is at a loss as to whats going on and the weird thing is that when the air con is turned on the check light turns off. I dont get it. We have tried checking the exhuast temp sender/sensor- its fine 02 sensor-fine all other wiring seems ok the only thing we have found is when the light turns off with the A/C one of (I cant remember which) the voltage readings on his hand controller goes up heaps. I have been getting a lot of help from Matt (MBS206) who is a top bloke for trying to help me sus this out and we are gonna have a good look over it tomorrow. It does not effect the running or driving of the car in any way and sometimes wont come on for weeks, Ive even done a full track day without it comming on. Then at other times (like the last few days) it stays on for weeks as well. I know its only a light but its driving me insane Ive read through both EMU and PFC stickys and thought that MAYBE the default boost controller setting on the PFC is on but I think the light would stay on all the time??? Paulr33, you out there??? Cmon guys, Brainstorming time. Im open to any suggestions that may help us track it down so I dont have to drag Matt away from Texi for too long tomorrow. Cheers
  14. Guys forgive me for going a bit off topic here but I am also going down the E85 road after my datalogit turns up and although a probably stupid question do you need the Hand Controller as well if using the lappy to switch maps??? My brand new h/c is not compatible with my PFC so I have to source an older version one
  15. Nah Owen it's my fathers day, my second one. The mrs has something planned and shell kill me if I bail hey maybe the treat is to send me to texi??????? Hehe
  16. On fathers day!..............Nooooooooooooooooooooooo, I can't even make it to have a look, damn it! I will enter one day
  17. Mine is Nismo Red as well (Its actually called "Super Clear Red II" or something), Ive only ever seen 1 other in the 10 years Ive owned my 33, plenty of maroon ones though And white LMGT2 Rims.......Now minus wheel caps Grrrrrrrrrrrrr, not unusual but a little rare Photobucket is down
  18. Yeah yeah yeah I actually didnt mean to put that one in believe it or not. I was umm, how do you put it REALLY Pissed last night! But you have to admit I still look good
  19. Here are some of mine. At least there is proof I spent a little time on the track! And you had to put this big off on the disc didnt you Eric
  20. Does the finished product end up being just as hard as the originals would be? As in do they go soft with heat etc?
  21. Thanks Tim, I was lucky enough to have a look a some lmgt4 caps today at powerplay imports and your right they won't fit. I've got the guy I get all of my jap parts from (performance wise) on the job as well and he is getting all of his jap contacts on the hunt as well so after I've exhausted all these avenues and your advice I may still have to go down the prototyping route with THENIG let's hope something comes up eh
  22. Thanks for pics Tim, so do you reckon the lmgt4 caps would fit my older lmgt's?? (at a guess of course)
  23. Hey guys, Sorry for the late reply I got caught up being a dad! Going by the measurements on the Yahoo add they are: "- Diameter: Approximately 61.5mm ●RAYS VOLK RACING C ULTRA removed from 14 inch aluminum wheel" Where I just measured mine properly with a tape and they are 80mm at the base (which would make the bit with the clips on it around 78mm) and 30mm high, so I dont think they are gonna fit my rims unfortunately. Tim have you got any picks of your caps I can have a look at? And Rob Id still like to know if it would be viable if you dont mind making a call. If it ends up being a big pain in the arse for all involved Ill give it a miss but by looking at the pdf it sounds ok to my laymans knowledge of this stuff. Just depends really on how expensive an exercise it will be I suppose. Thanks for the input guys. Oh yeh, Tim is jesse streeter a SUA member or a contact of yours?
