  1. Yeh Im starting to learn this the hard way Paul. I mean there is ONE shop that will tune it in Syd, CRD but thay cant seem to get you out of there quick enough and then your ass feels really sore for the next week..if you know what i mean. Can you get a PFC nowdays? Expensive? May not be an option unless I can find a buyer for the EMU as other wise Im out of pocket close to a grand
  2. Hey Guys, I have been trying to find a tuner that will put the time into my car and I seem to be hitting major brick walls no matter where I turn. I started a thread in the NSW Section yesterday HERE which I will not type out again but if you have the time have a read. Anyway my question is do you think that I did myself an injustice by buying an EMU back in late 07 early 08 when PFC's were just too damn hard to get and excessively priced? I could really do with some advice from the more knowledgable people on these forums so if you have the time and the patience to read my link PLEASE tell me your honest opinions cause it seems that no one wants to touch my car. Im not really looking for the "Throw that thing in the bin and get a PFC" replies but something tells me i will. Thanks guys
  3. The last two posts are very fair points and I understand both points of view of the tuner v customer but on the flipside isnt part of being a "Car enthusiast" (I sound like a shannons ad!) the enjoyment of learning how your car works and the thrill of see the results of your own modifications? If you do the homework and ask questions on places like these Forums that danger of damage is minimised on both sides in my opinion.
  4. Mate maybe you should read the forum rules. I have given as much info as I can without naming the tuner or the workshop. After all many of the guys here have had great experience with this bloke and I am not about to warn off guys who are thinking of useing him in the future or risking a ban from the mods. This guy is known to be one of the best tuners around I'm just stating my experience so really WHO he is irrelavent
  5. N1GTR-pm sent Kujotk-It is not in the hills district but I know what you mean
  6. Pm replied chris
  7. Sorry had to get some sleep, I may be heading into dangerous waters so send me a pm and we will see if it's the same fella
  8. CRD Installed it but didnt give me the cd or instruction manual so i cant even change settings once my 555's and Z32 are in to limp it down there. Ive been given a copy of the program by a certain person but have to wait till i get to work in the mornig to grab my thumb drive and laptop to load it up. My issue is I wanted to try this tuner as I have heard great reports and they are closer to my place (Dural)
  9. Hey Chris Nah no response as yet ,I have spoken to you a few times before and met you in person at a show and shine a while back PM me and Ill give you more info on who im talking about...You may be suprised
  10. Hi People, I may be treading on thin ice here but I will not name names so here goes! I have been a member of these forums for quite a while now and although I dont post very often (I try not to talk too much about subjects I am not certain of)I read and learn on here most days, some of you guys may recognise me from a long time ago when I introduced myself but I digress. I will give you a little background to my story. After much study on these forums I have over the last couple of years slowly modded my 33 GTST and almost all of my parts have come from traders on these forums. My engine management is an EMU as when I was in the market for a computer PFC's were VERY expensive and almost impossible to come by. I contacted a tuner a couple of days ago that was very highly recommended from a lot of people here on SAUNSW and from what I have read in various topics really goes that extra mile to get the "right" tune for peoples needs so I was looking forward to getting what I "asked for" so to speak as my other tunes have been good but not perfect if that makes sense. Anyway my E-mail to them was as follows: "Hi, My name is Dave and I have a 98 Series 2 GTST Skyline (RB25DET) and I was wondering if I could get your advice on some tuning of my E-Manage Ultimate I have just had my standard Turbo Highflowed by Hypergear (ATR28 450hp Profile) and I am in the process of installing some Nismo 555cc Injectors and the obligatory Z32 AFM. Do you guys have experience with this kind of engine management and if so would you be willing to tune my car for me? I have had my 33 for many years and it was originally tuned by XXXX who sort of gave me the flick when I told them I was getting an EMU, then I went to XXXX(who installed it)and they have been very good but I don’t think they really have the time to put in a “full” tune such as cold starts, idle control etc with the amount of customers they have. I suppose what I am after is a good solid drivable street tune so as to have as much response as possible and a good midrange. I have heard very good reports about you from many of the SAU boys and they have indicated that you guys are the ones to go to for that thorough tune so can you recommend wether I should get a Basic tune as I have already had it tuned before or the Complete tune? My modifications are as follows: Hybrid FMIC APEXi Super Suction Kit with pod Custom Air box with CAI(Home Made) Split Dump and Catco Race Cat 3.5” HKS Cat back Silent High Power exhaust Exedy 5puk Clutch Greddy Ex Cam Gear(not sure what its set at-XXXX Installed) EMU Hypergear HighFlow Nismo 555Injectors and Walbro fuel pump Z32 AFM Could you also tell me what a rough price would be for both your tunes? Sorry to give you so much to read I’m just trying to give you as much info as possible. Many thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Dave" So the response I got was: "Hi Dave, Thank you for your enquiry and considering us for your project. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any tuning on the EMU in your instance for technical reasons based on the modifications listed. Best of luck and thanks again with your enquiry. Regards, XXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX" I repied back to them: "Thankyou for getting back to me. I am sorry to hear you cannot tune my car as you personally come very highly recommended from a lot of the guys from SAU (Skylines Australia) With all due respect may I ask what the problems are with my modifications as I don’t understand? Do you do any EMU tuning or is that the problem. As I have stated above I mean no disrespect I would just like to know what my “instance” is so as to avoid having an issue of not being able to get quality work done by a reputable tuner. Regards, Dave" Now I am very confused because it seems as though no-one really wants to touch me and I am starting to really wonder what the problem is. Do you guys have any thoughts?? As I have stated above I dont walk around acting like I know it all because I dont and I definately dont know the first thing about how to tune a car Help me put my mind at ease My 'line in case you are curious (I wonder if any of you remember it?)
  11. Hi people, Last year I purchased a EMU from CRD and to cut a long story short wasnt given the operators manual or the CD. Can anybody help me in finding this Software? I have looked at the Greddy website as advised by CRD but it only has the updates to the Software not the FULL program. It also has a crappy photocopied looking users manual but you can hardly read it so a link to a PDF would be good as well. I really could use all your help here guys as I am installing bigger injectors and Z32 AFM this weekend to suit my highflow and I need to change the settings to get it to the tuners so i can save myself nearly $400 if i get them to install them. Ta
  12. Ahh yes yes thats right my bad
  13. Thanks guys you helped me make up my mind. Ill go with the Nismos
  14. You just wanted to get my hopes up
  15. Maybe I should send you some $$ and get you to ship some down here to Sydney...hehehe
  16. R31Nismoid-Mate can you tell me where you have seen the Nismos for around 1k? I cant seem to find any under $1200 but maybe im not looking in the right areas I shouldve grabbed some last year when they were were $870 Bloody economic meltdowns!!!!
  17. Ahhh, So would I right to assume that in theory the dual spray "may" produce a better A/F ratio but as you have stated you probably wouldnt notice it in a real world application?
  18. Im about to upgrade my Injectors and am probably going to get Nismo 555cc items but have noticed that the Sard ones are a little cheaper even with the collars. Would appreciate some honest opinions on which injectors you guys believe is "better" and your reasoning for that decision. Ive been told by slide that the Sards are only a single spray as opposed to the Nismo quad spray but im having trouble making up my mind on what to go for. Thanks
  19. Here is another red one. Mine, taken a long time ago in 2000 when it was totally stock! Wasnt very many around back then (33GTR was like 100k)
  20. Yeh it is a sealed tank, gonna do a full plumb back type setup. Who is trico? Never heard of them. Do you have a link?
  21. Im very close to purchasing a washer bottle/catch can combo from JJR" This one" for my 33 GTST but have been told it may not fit. From what I can figure I may have to doctor a couple of the mounts and thats about it. JJR have told me that they "Think" but are not sure that the washer bottle motors are different, can somebody clarify this or even better post up some pics of the two (GTST & GTR) that shows the difference that the JJR boys are talking about. Surely the two motors cant be that different on an OEM washer botlle. PLEASE HELP THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS Yes I have done a search Cheers
  22. Got no idea mate I need the same thing as Ive said above even Nissan cant find one
  23. Ahhh, Its Geraus's 33. He has told me about the boost leak. So do you think that 250rwkw is achievable with the G3? I have almost identical mods to Geraus
