R33 Gearbox And Clutch Assembly Exploded View
DaveO74 replied to DaveO74's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
How do you get access to FAST?? I have even been to Hornsby Nissan and they cant seem to track down and exploded view! Only a view of the gearbox itself NOT the clutch assembly etc. -
Hi Stao, Just thought I would add to this thread for all the people out there thinking of getting one of your highflows. These are a great option for upgrading you turbo and the workmanship and support from Stoa is absolutely fabulous. Although I have not yet had my Highflow(G3 Profile) tuned I can honestly say that the response is very similar to the stock turbo and you can feel the power increase across the bandwith. Awesome Turbo mate. Stao, on your dyno sheet above you cannot quite see the R33 results clearly, What kw's did you get on the readout with the PFC?? (14 & 17psi)

I bought a HKS adjustable actuator from a trader on these forums to go with my Highflow and I have been trying to set it to 11psi until I can get my tune and it dosent seem to fit. If you look at the following pics hopefully this will make some sense. This is the new Highflow with the standard actuator(Modified to 14psi by Hypergear) Now you will see on this Photo the distance from the bracket bolts to the wastegate pin is approx 150mm This is the bracket for the HKS actuator which will have it set back a little closor to the Wastegate pin (approx 130mm) Now one with the total lenght of the new actuator (approx 190mm) You will see on this one that the adjustable shaft is only about 100mm long Now I have come across an installation pdf on the web which states that to set the actuator at 0.8Bar or 11.60psi the total shaft length should be 123mm, but as you can probably see on the pictures it just dosent look like it will reach. The only way that it looks like it will even come close to fitting is to have the shaft almost wound totally out in which the thread is only holding on by maybe 10mm and as such heaps of play. Is it just me or have i been dudded?? Has anybody out there had this trouble before?? It may be a noob thing but it just dosent look right to me cause even if i wanted to set it at .5Bar (128mm) I cant even screw it down close to that. What can I do??

New Injectors And Afm With Greddy Emu
DaveO74 replied to DaveO74's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Haines Sorry mate I should have been clear with my original post. EMU is already installed. Was done in early 08 bt CRD, just after the software to have a play on the laptop. joeyjoejoejunior....(What a mouthfull!) so 750's will be plenty with the "standard mods"? Im currently running 217rwkw before Highflow with standard AFM & Injectors aiming for around 250 odd with the Highflow but maybe a bit more with E85 -
New Injectors And Afm With Greddy Emu
DaveO74 replied to DaveO74's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks so much for the info mate. Now to my next question. Does any body know of a place where I can get the software?? I used to be able to find it on nengun but it appears to be gone -
New Injectors And Afm With Greddy Emu
DaveO74 replied to DaveO74's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks Haines, when you say the Injectors are a before and after do you mean that I wont have to do anything regarding them in particular? (As in just drop them in and drive away) -
New Injectors And Afm With Greddy Emu

So ive got my new High-Flow from hypergear and have been advised by many of you guys on these forums to get the injectors and AFM before my tune otherwise ill just have to tune it twice. (Safe tune with standard Inj etc & then retune with new Inj etc) I have been been reading through Trents (URAS) FAQ on the EMU and it seems as though I can adjust settings fairly easily. I have all the usual mods and I am running a Greddy EMU, so my question is if I get the software for my EMU and fix the settings for a Z32 AFM can I also redo settings for the Injectors so that I can drive down to CRD for the final tune? Also if I was planning of playing around with E85 would 750cc Nismos be sufficient?? I am not out to fully tune it myself but I want to save the installation cost of getting CRD to install the Inj's and AFM cause I can do it myself. Any views would be greatly appreciated.

Studs On Rear Of Turbo Exhaust Housing
DaveO74 replied to DaveO74's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
How easy are the studs to put in? This may sound silly but will I need a special tool so as to not damage the thread? -
Got my R33 GTS-t High-Flow back yesterday and noticed that the two bottom studs have been removed. Should I put new studs in and attach them to the dump pipe with the nuts or is using six bolts ok? Cheers

Umm not really so I go with the advice on the PDF? Maybe it's a little early in the morning...or I'm just stupid(probably both!)

Hey Guys, Before everbody tells me to use the search function I can assure you that I have looked and then looked again so here goes. I bought a HKS adjustable actuator through one of the traders on these forums and I asked how to set the boost levels for my new High-Flow (Want to keep it on 10psi for run in) and he instructed me as follows- "The longer the bar the harder the spring pressure the shorter the bar the softer, less boost pressure. " Now I have also come across a pdf whilst doing a search and it states as below "You will need to pre set the boost you want. 128mm = .5Bar or 7.25psi 123mm = .8Bar or 11.60psi 121mm = 1.0Bar or 14.50psi 119mm = 1.2Bar or 17.4psi" Can someone please confirm which one is correct I dont want to set what I think is 10psi only to have it 30!! Thanks

Removed My Rocker Covers To Find This!
DaveO74 replied to DaveO74's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
thanks guys -
Hey Guys, While Im waiting for my High-Flow to turn up I thought I would finish some engine painting that I started long ago so I removed my Rocker Covers. When I got them off and was having a good look at them before cleaning and paint prep i found on the underside of the cover on the Intake side near the rear of the engine (Firewall) this burnt oils stain type marking. (See photo below) Should I worry about this stain or is it just something that comes with age?? Also what is the best way to remove the copper coloured blow by hose thingys on top if each cover?(Very technical I know) Thanks

How come noone seems to rate the Greddy EMU as an alternative to the PFC? I know it is still a Piggy Back Computer but I have had one for around 12 months and am really happy with it (Bought it back when PFC's were very scarce and VERY expensive!)and last time I checked which was a while ago they were a little cheaper than a PFC Is there something I dont know about the EMU?? Had it installed by Jim at CRD and he seems to rate them just as high as a PFC Sorry for the thread jump

Hi Guys, I am in the process of getting a new turbo sent to me and have had my car up on blocks without any oil int for around two weeks now and I was wondering if there is a general rule of thumb regarding how long you should leave your engine without any oil. Is there something I should do before I add the new oil once I install the new turbo such as Oil prep or an addative of some kind?

Mate from what I have learnt recently there is an absolute plethora of Turbos you can put on the stock manifold but your wasting your time without the supporting mods to match

Would there be any point putting on the Z32 AFM before the injectors or is that just stting myself up for trouble also? -

DaveO74 replied to DaveO74's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey Pal are you still running stock AFM or Z32? Also what size injectors do all you peeps recommend, 555's or 740's ? I should be able to get the Z32 in a week or two but the injectors may take a little while
