Nah been lazy, So I'm just hijacking your thread! I'll get onto it this week, Ryan was curious about my bonnet fitment anyhow. -
Over here (nsw) supercheap auto, not too sure about wa

Metalcast looks good, but is does sometimes fade and go a little off colour over time. I did a heap of stuff in the red and it held up for a few years quite well, I'll post up some pics when I get on the computer. It's a two stage process of a silver base coat then a candy colour on top. Gives whatever you are painting an anodized look.

Hey Ryan......yeah I really need to update me build thread, I'll do it this weekend just couldn't be arsed getting all the pics off the camera. -
It was ages ago when I was trying the same thing and couldn't get the metalcast to take. So to keep the little plug bracket thingy at the back of the cover I just hacksawed a length off the back of an old one so I could still mount the bracket. Plus did it for a mate who wanted to get rid of a heat problem. And for another mate who wanted vents. Still have the bits somewhere.

Rb25 valley cover is all plastic, I have hacksawed 3 of them in half before. No metal

Getting there Matt, looking good so far. Got mine going last week, you wait man, sure feels good to drive your car again after sooooo long. -
That's all I did with mine, then hit it with metalcast and it held up fine. I'll post up some picks tomorrow for you.

Yeah thats the one Just dont tell the wifey how much i have spent!!! Thread with dyno sheet can be foundhere We are going to tidy it up a bit in the next few weeks, time got away from us on the friday sorting out some other issues

Of course there are other options Harey, and HG has proven time and time again to be better value than most turbos out there. I do think 2835 is the shizzle, because I have had it running in the car for a whole of 5 days so im like a kid in a candy store at the moment. But i will be the first to admit that it comes with a hefty price tag. Can we all just have a big cuddle now and make up.

Jeebuz Christ, Sorry guys I really didnt mean anything at all by the comment. Dunno whats going on with this place lately. The only reason I read this thread all the time is that Im very interested in Staos results. Very rarely do I post and when I do.......WHACK! Ah well lesson learned, dont have an opinion on an internet forum LOL
-
Whoah easy Harey I wasn't trying to big note myself at all mate, It was just friendly banter I meant no offense. I have gone from a HG (admittedly an older highflow) and I agree they ate great bang for buck. Stao is doing some great things with his turbos and I'm in no way bagging them, the point I was actually trying to make is (as I said) IMO only 280 killer wasps is plenty for an unopened street 25 that's all. FWIW I already owned my 2835 before stao was getting his ss1/2's properly up and running and if I hadn't already purchased mine I most probably would have got one myself. The only thing I was correcting you on, and I still respectfully think you are incorrect is that the 2835 does hit full song quicker than 3600rpm. No need to be so quick on the attack man, I'm not out to cause a bloody argument, and I have no doubt you know more about dyno corrections etc etc than me. It was just an observation.
-
I can now speak from experience, the 2835 pro s is the shizzle they tend to reach full boost before 3600 though. Mine is around 3200 odd. And IMO 280kw really is plenty, it make for a VERY quick street car. Shouldve kept yours Harey

Bugger, now I feel worse for holding Boydy up for so long. I have a few pics on the camera, but havent downloaded them yet. 90% falcodores, a few nice rods and a sweet looking S Series Valiant, for some reason I have a soft spot for the vals. A grand total of 5 imports with 3 of them from SAU, so I wasn't expecting to win anything just thought I'd show off all the hard work and spread the word a bit for Craved Coatings. And no CAI isn't fixed yet, I'll get too it next weekend. Besides that one squirt I told you about this morning I've just been driving around on low boost.
-
Hahaha..... Soooooooo true. Oh and BTW I told you god knows how long ago polishing is for mugs
-
Thanks Michael, Jez and Boydy deserve all the credit on this one. I'm good at bolting everything together and basic trouble shooting but Jez is pretty switched on and was suspicious of the cat very early on. I probably confused him a bit by saying that km wise it was not very old (the car is off teh road more than on lol) Had a good drive of it today for a car show and man it goes good, I'm very happy with the setup. I can't fault this turbo one bit. I'm sure the tune is also a big part of it though
-
Looks good man, I need to talk to you about an idea I have with the brace anyway so no hurry. I'm thinking of a HKS Kansai copy, but dunno how we can pull it of maintaining the nismo mounts

I'm here now, if you hurry you can still get in, plenty of room. Hurry up there is only 4 imports here lol Edit: just spoke go ben, rock up whenever just not too late. Give us a buzz on 0409532129 if you get lost -
How is she Jez, have you found out? I felt so bad when he got that call
-
At one stage I thought I was going home with 90kw Wouldve given a hyundia Getz a bloody good run though..... But in all seriousness I don't think Jez was going to let me leave until it made the numbers. He is very dedicated to getting the tune right Got the car cleaned up and I'm ready for the show in the morning, also got the cooling panel on after much sanding and drilling. If anyone in Sydney is around Liverpool in the morning come by and say gday. Corner of the Hume and memorial ave. I'm going to bed.
-
Removing the cat??????? Dunno what your talking about :) Yeh solved all the dramas, it looked sweet as when we looked through it, but when we had it out Boydy gave it a shake and you could hear it rattling around. It was the tuners decision to "fix" it. Told you I'd blame you Jez Never had a cf coil cover, got a billet vented one from the states that Craved coated. I have a cf radiator air guide thingy but I'm having all kinds of trouble getting a nice fit on it so I'm gonna get the sander out, also have a cf bonnet but it's fouling on the strut brace so it's been swapped for the factory one, probably a blessing in disguise cause it will be my daily for a bit so it's more stealth standard. Looks bloody nice though.
