I think it had about 145,000kms when it came out. I did a complete driveline change over to the RB20 turbo setup, it was all in good workin order just wanted more power

I'll scan those pages for you dxcorolla when i get home, legend01 is right the article mentiond using 4AGZE forged pistons that are 81.6mm i think, with a little machining to fit( but no serious detail:( ) I think a RB30 conversion would be the go for the costs associated.

Point taken fresh, but if the manifold only costs me say $150 to make at work then spool times and tidiness of the engine bay is justification to undertake the project. So my question remains are the intake runners of the naturally asperated RB20 the same as the runners off the turbo RB20???? Pls help

Do you guys know if the turbo RB and naturally asperated RB gearboxes are interchangable???

Hey Psymon i had the same problem in my 32,but it was lower in the rev range, between 3500 to 4500 it was absolutely gutless. couldn't work out what it was until i bought another turbo, bang problem gone. I put my problem down to a stuffed wastegate actuator. Hopefully its not this in your case but like yogi000 said a diagnostic check hopefully will help you out. Good luck

Hi guys, I'm in the market to buy a new airflow meter but not sure which way to go. Is it possible to get an auto electrician to wire in a LS1 MAF sensor or similar. Im running a POWERFC, HKS 2540, FMIC, Bosch 040 etc on a RB20. Any suggestions qould be great cheers guys luke

Manual, in good condition, no noises and no bad synchros. Here's some pictures of the motor and gearbox.

Mate i had a nasty squeal from my engine bay once. Couldn't find a boost leak, bad belt or anything. Then i realised i had some broken exhaust studs, started to fix these and realised the the turbo had come loose from the manifold (no idea why ??? bought the motor from a wrecker in sydney had it fitted by a mechanic) and the squealing noise was the pressure coming out from between the join. Long story short removed the turbo replaced the gasket and bolted it back together and wala . This noise was only on 3/4 to full throttle. Went heaps better after that, no shit haha

Hi guys i've got an RB20 DE motor(inc computer and loom) and gearbox for sale. Its done about 120.000km's but had good level compression when i took it out. Would make a good conversion for another R32 or datsun or whatever just need to get rid of it. Asking $800

Guys i'm looking at buyin one also and was wondering if you replaced the old regulator totally or left it on the car and mounted the sard regulator on the firewall somewhere in sync with the existing one???? Has anyone got pics of their setup??
