Holden are more conserned with percieved fuel economy of their cars-they dont want you to waiste fuel idling in the driveway,and then tell everyone that Holden has crappy fuel economy.

Just a quick q. People who run an adjustable exhaust gear on R33, what is the degree you have it on.

In one of the older HPI issues they did a comparo between r32 and silvia,which has similar(identical?) performance to the 180sx.Based on their times,r32 does 0-100 in mid-high 6s and 1 1/4 mile in mid-high 14s.Silvia does low 6s and low 14s so its faster.The same article mentioned that despite being slower the r32 is in a different class, compared to s13 cars.The engine I belive is stronger stock for stock, and,unlike sr20 doesnt have problems with extended high rpm work.

Thanks for the replys guys.The thing just sounds like constant wooshing varying in intensity depending on how far you push the throttle,even at indicated 0 psi on the gauge.Must be the HKS pod thing then...

I drove a friends' 33 GTS-T '94 today.He has HKS pod on and you could really hear the turbo inside the cabin.Not to the point of being intrusive, but really noticeable.Is this normal if you have a pod?

Some time ago someone (presumably a cop) had reported me to the EPA for excessive noise pollution.I got a letter from EPA which said that I had to go to one of approved (they give you a list) exhaust places,get them to mesure the noise,recieve a certificate and fax it back to the EPA to get clearance.I went to my friendly local exhaust place and asked for advice.Ididnt really want to change my exhaust.What they done was cut a piece of aluminium in the shape of a flange which joins the cat and cat-back pipe.Drill 3 or 4 very small holes in the middle and slip it between the cat and the cat-back.Cant really tell from the outside.I took the car to the approved joint with a green on my dial whatching him.At this point I have to mention that I took my car there the day before to mesure what my noise level actually was.After parting with the required $50 I was informed that noise is 108 db and then they tried to sell me new exhaust.Now, he was frantically going over and over trying to figure out why the car is so quiet all of the sudden as everything was seemingly exactly the same as the day before!Fu*king looser.It surely was one of this "Mastercard moments"-priceless!!!Anyway,He wrote down the indicated 87db on the certificate,which I then promptly faxed back to the EPA.Rang them up to confirm.Took the "restrictor" out.End of story. Possibly the brake rotors need machining.

I have read somewhere that if the oil turns dark colour it is actually good as the oil does what its supposed to do-carry combustion byproducts away from the cylinders,among other things,hence the dark colour.

In my opinion,provided the tires are the same size, the best tires should be at the front. 1.Most of the weight of the car is on the front axle-more load on the front tires. 2.Consider where your priority lies- good take-offs with better tires at the back or being able to pull-up in time instead of aquaplanning on the bald tires in rainy weather. I think Fulcrum tech did the right thing by leaving the good tires at the front.Of course they should have let you know,of course they should't have charged you for wheel rotation but thats another story.

Why not to do the most logical thing and check for error codes?

I looked at the car again today.The colour is actually dark blue.Under the bonnet the colour is matt black-coud indicate that front end was at panel beaters at some stage.No extra hardware under the bonnet as far as I could tell.But it does have an authentic looking Tommi Kaira badge on the boot.Interior looks rather unimpressive and well used, 66,000 on the odo notwithstanding.I will probably look somewhere else for my Skyline.

Might go again tomorrow to investigate further.On the outside the car looks shmick.However, the drivers recaro has a hole from a fag butt and the paint has come off the dash in some spots.Looks a bit grubby,however admiddedly the car is not ready for sale yet.I want to see it when they finish with it.

Yard wants low 20's for it. Anyone knows if the additions are only cosmetic or there are some mechanical upgrades as well?

I was pricing-up a nice r33 GTST '94 today but it looked slitly different.It had a nismo front,nice white flat-spoke rims,GTR wing,Recaros,big writing on the steering wheel and the sides of the car"Taka Kaira" .The dealer is telling me that the car is a limited edition one and all the bits are fitted at the factory.Has anyone ever heard of "Taka Kaira" R33 or otherwise limited edition R33?

People have to realise that this mod is POSSIBLY ONLY WORKS on GTR,even though both GTR and GTST have restritors.If your car doesnt have a restrictor,the hose was probably changed to a normal one at some stage BEFORE you bought the car. Whats so hard to understand?

NismoR34 is referring to the hose with yellow stripe going into the boost control solenoid.I can back that up because I was there too.After removing the restrictors boost gauge indicated LESS boost then previously. Hey NismoR34,Long time no see!
