- I got a Specialized "Sirrus" flatbar road bike. Its good and i like it, basically just used for Commuting but i plan on going on a few bigger treks some time soon. - Good Point... My girls will love it.... While im at it i might just put the wife up there too and take the passenger seat out and install something more useful. Thanks all for the suggestions. I think that im going to go with some roof racks simply because i dont have a tow bar and dont really have a need for one. (Lots of utes in the family). Now i just have to go shopping around and see what i like the sound/look of.

Hehehehe too true... but add 2 kids, 2 baby seats, and a ridgeback dog and a subwoofer... Now fold the seats down?? - squash the kids... let the dog run through the car... and jam the bike handle bars through the sub??? good idea Or get roof racks.... infiltrator - I agree with the tow bar though...

I am wanting to cart around my new Bike and i was wondering what others have done. What route to go? Towbar with bike attachment or Roof Racks?? Any input would be good

Nice to meet you all. Was a good day. And with regard to the comment on having a washed car... I washed my car, then it rained, then it was dirty, but i still turned up.... Its interesting that most of the stageas were manual. Anyway it was good to see whats about and maybe next time we can go for a bit of a drive aswell

Great info... i will have a look into the part number for the bearing for my rear bearing aswell.... I did want to just say this.... I took the car to Ron's Automotive, Ronnie had a look at it for me (For a carton of our local finest) and found something quite interesting.... The front tyres were ROOOOOOTED... Out of round/out of everything, they may aswell have been made out of clag glue and paddlepop sticks... he checked all the links and mounts and found that they were "2nd hand" but definately not in bad condition. He said that with new front tyres and a wheel allignment that the thing would be fixed... So, Off to Jaxx i went... 2 new Pirellis and Bob's your uncle.... Fixedaroony... Top Bloke Ron... So there you have it... Pedders Suspension test was going to cost me $3k to fix everything. And what it actually cost was, Wheelbearing and new tyres and wheel allignment.. *note to self - that was a carton well spent...
-
Its all good Duncan.. I dont have that 2nd bearing... She'll be right... Now i got to address the rest of the issues... It did take out the wobble in the steering now though..

Hello All, Some of you may have read my topic about suspension woes here --> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Su...da-t309179.html In it i was mentioning about the rear passenger wheel bearing being knackered... I took it to Tas Driveline and they were able to fix it for me, however there was something interesting that i found out in the process... The Manual and Automatic Stagea have 2 Different rear wheel bearings... Sorry but i dont have a pic, All i can say is that the manual one has a form of spacer on top of the bearing with a 17mm bolt hole through it that acts as part of the mount. It is a hub assembly (like the auto) but without that spacer on top the auto bearing wont fit in the Manual Stagea rear end... So There you have it.... if you didnt know... That excersice cost $370 for the bearing + labour....

Suspension Woes - Need Some Guidance
ydawak replied to ydawak's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I will get a 2nd opinion on monday from Jaxx here in launceston however i dont really know where else to go. Here in Launceston there is Pedders Suspension and a few tyre shops, but Pedders is the only real suspension place that there is that i can think of... I suppose i could go to RACT or Midas or something aswell... Not much choice around here... I will also look into the parts needed, i have got a rear wheel bearing through Tas Driveline. They said the latest ones they have are for a C34 Stagea from 99. So i hope that they are the same.... I know nothing about them... Hope it fits... On the suspension side of things, the main thing that i want is for it not to be rock solid like my old skyline... i am after a factory feel. but if i can get that with some coilovers then i might consider it... Does anyone know anything about the pedders sports ryder Coil overs? i got suggested them, but for the price i dont know if Tein ones or Blistien ones are going to be better/worse.... I am looking for build quality and ride comfort... Thanks for all the replies.. -
